    Bogus
I hate feeling like I’m going out of my way to trash talk but this app is highly frustrating for the following reasons: 1, there’s no option to delete or deactivate your account, 2, you cannot get in touch with the developers or parent company Mutual Noise to do so. That alone is enough reason for me to say get a different app that doesn’t require your email address and a login. It’s not worth it. Show more

    Google is free?
I’ve been playing music for over 20 years and downloaded this app to spruce up on my theory and learn some new chords after watching a “The Guitologist” video on YouTube. He said that it “shows you all the ones (chords) that sound good together“ but if I’m honest you could look up all the stuff on Google and write it down on some paper. I read in another review that this app was designed for drunk people, but I’m also having a heck of a time figuring out the functions. This app isn’t very good and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, and from what I’ve seen the devs just want to make excuses about making a crappy app. Now if I could make some recommendations: the app sorely needs streamlining and made more user-friendly. You could also use the function that I came here for, which is chord progression building. Not just copy paste but actual recommendations on progressions (what chords add tension and resolve). Also, why did I need a login for this? Just asinine. Show more

    Overall very solid
This app is something that I have been needing for a while, and it works very well. My only problem with it is that it is guitar specific, so I have to transpose what I'm playing on piano into the correct chords fingerings for the guitar. However, if you are a guitar player looking to write music, This is a very useful app. Show more

    Why Bother?
Where is this INSPIRATION section? My advice; look in the App Suggestions below and pick just about anything. Chances are it will be better.

    Great App - Annoying emails
This app is a great tool! I used it for 15 minutes after buying and wrote 2 riffs/ideas using chords I had not seen before. I can see a lot of useful things coming out of this app. I especially appreciate the ability to rearrange chords in the progression and tap to listen to each chord or the entire progression. Very useful. One annoying thing however is this 15 Days of song I keep getting daily emails about. I may have opted in by mistake so I’m not going to point the finger too hard but it is irritating to get daily emails from an app you just paid for. It’s almost like seeing ads, just not as obnoxious. Show more

    Finding difficult to use
I wish there could have been a trial period. I find it difficult to navigate and the input of chords is too tedious. One by one, it took me forever. You can’t add tempo either, and I couldn’t figure out how to get to the inspiration section. $10 for this app is not worth it. I don’t think I will be using. What a disappointment. Wish I could get a refund. Show more

    Perfectly Simple
I just love how quickly and simply I can record my ideas with this app. Anything more complicated and I think I would get too sidetracked and probably forget what had just popped into my head. So contrary to some of the other reviews posted here, the simplicity of this app is the killer feature for me. Just like my tube amps and my pedalboard, I like to keep things as simple as possible and this really works for me. Well done! Show more

    Awesome app for inspiration!
Downloaded this app a couple days ago and have been pleasantly surprised by the chord options I have available to me as I’m coming up with new ideas. There are so many chords I have never thought to try, very excited to take my music to a bigger range :) Show more

    Cannot run without profile
Pictures look great. I would love to actually run this app but I can’t get past the profile screen. I’m not creating a profile for this app. If you add iCloud sync support, you can have all of the purported features of syncing across iOS devices without requiring a Facebook login or similar. I was willing to pay the 10 bucks, but I’m not willing to get pulled into the “free for now but will cost later” subscription model. If there is no way around this, it would nice of you to put a disclaimer that, after paying $10 for this app, you won’t actually be able to use it without creating Yet Another Profile. Show more

    To basic for $9
Could’ve gotten a very similar app with these features for free. Not worth 9$. I want my money back.....

    Needs Work
For an app that costs a slam dunk of $10 I was expecting something a bit more high fidelity and feature rich. What you’re paying for is a chord library, the ability to hear a little bit of how those chords sound in order, a recording section, and a notes section. While its nice to have everything in one place, the features are barebones. The voice recorder is much worse than the voice memos that comes standard with all iPhones. It doesnt let you trim recordings, if the phone screen shuts off (which happens automatically over time) it stops recording which means you can only play for 30s at a time, and the notes section provides nothing but the ability to write text. As a person who has been writing songs for a while on his phone using Notes (free), Voice Memos (free), and the chord library in the Ultimate Guitar App ($3) I would say this app is not worth the money right now. It has great potential but needs a lot of fixes and a lot more features to be worth using Show more

    Scam
    It is a subscription...

    Perfect!
Thank you so much for creating this app. It’s perfect and our kids love it too!

    Nice app, but
I can’t figure out how to change a song key after a song is created. Sometimes a writer starts out in one key, but later decides to change. There really should be an easy way to do this. Will an update fix this? Show more

    Not enough chords
Doesn’t even have chords like C6, Am7 chord is not the same as a C6 chord in any shape form or fashion. Two completely different chords. also when you click play on your chord progression it doesn’t loop. Definitely not a songwriting tool. More for just beginners to hear different chords Show more

    No sound
Downloaded the app today and there’s no sound. Tried using the support info which brings up an email, but it won’t let me actually send the email. Worst $10 spent. (And yes, the sound is turned on and turned up.) Show more

    Disappointed
I spent $10(really???) and a couple of hours trying to figure out how to use this app. It is NOT user friendly. There are no tutorials that I can find anywhere online. Not worth the $10 Show more

    Not super helpful
Buggy, chords will not play back when needed
