    Not great
I saw some people saying this was better than Plex’s app so I bought it. Meh. No folder browsing?! No seeing my existing Plex playlists? It’s basically useless to me as I don’t play “artists” or “albums”; I use folders and playlists to group music I want to hear together. Show more

    Love this app but…
Would love to see a desktop and Apple Watch extension to this app but other than that very nice complement to a Plex server owner.

    Thanks for developing this app
I just want to express my gratitude to the whole dev team. Great work!

    It just works.
After much frustration with PlexAmp, I went looking for an alternative and found Prism. The last straw for PlexAmp was tonight all it showed was a blank black screen. No indication it was doing anything or that it had some sort of problem connecting to my Plex server. Just blackness. I installed Prism and had my Plex music library loaded in less than a minute. No headaches. No mysterious failure to load. It just worked. What sold me is the fact that my Apple music is loaded right alongside my Plex music. Now I don’t have to remember where the song I want to listen to was purchased a decade ago. That by itself is worth $4.99. Downloads for offline listening are super simple too. And fast. Downloading an album took less than 20 seconds. Now I can listen to my music in places where cellular service is nonexistent. Finally, the interface is simple and clean, and it follows Apple’s standards so I don’t have to hunt around for stuff like AirPlay so I can play on my Roku soundbar. This is what I have been wanting for years. Bye bye PlexAmp and Apple Music. Show more

Nice app, but a bit buggy
First off, I want to give the writer kudos for writing the software that I was looking for and didn’t think existed: a music player to handle my Plex library, with the ability to download! Main Bug I’ve enabled remote play on my Plex server and music plays well through the iOS Plex app, but with Prism, it stops playing every other song or so. Clicking play does not resume the song. Mostly I have to quit the app and restart it to continue. I’m ready to buy the app if this fixed. Using cellular access. Wish list Group by genre Beef up UI for macOS on M1 Update 10/19/22 After using the app more, I’m pretty sure the bug where the music stops playing and is difficult to get going is when you are streaming music through cellular from your Plex server. I am using the Prism app on my M1 Mac Mini, which has local access to my Plex server and there are no problems there. I think the issue maybe in the communication code to buffer a bit more and recover from packet drops and other communication failures. Show more

    CarPlay Not Working
CarPlay stopped working so it is hardly worth it anymore. Save your money.

    Extremely Effective
I really appreciate the effort here. Whereas PlexAmp focuses a bit more on eye-candy over functionality, Prism demonstrates a clear commitment to usability. Offline and online listening is well thought out and unified. Downloading tracks is managed within a tab, but everything shows within one centralized library view (not two like PlexAmp does). Tracks and albums show tags if downloaded. THEN, you can easily filter the entire library by “downloaded”, and now you have your localized library suitable for commuting through cellular dead zones. Moreover, I downloaded hundreds of tracks at one time, with no crashes or issues. Very stable. Show more

    Amazing Plex music player
Really amazing app for using Plex for music. Better download support than Plexamp. This is my #1 music app on my iPhone. Thank you so much to the developer!

    Incredible Music App
Absolutely incredible app. If you’re looking for an Apple Music or Plex music app, this ticks all the boxes. Beautifully designed, and includes features Apple should have included with the stock music app. If you’re using Plex, this app is leaps and bounds better than their music app. Well worth the price. Works well with Plex
I use it to stream from Plex, which works well. My only wish is for it to ChromeCast.

    Best audio client for iOS
Prism is by far the best audio client available on iOS for Plex users. I genuinely appreciate the ability to download whole artist discographies, specific albums or my entire library without arbitrary limits (looking at you, Plexamp). Downloads are also apart of the library itself rather than split off into a separate UI which makes it seamless to play music regardless of your connection. The user interface fits in really well with the iOS design and is pleasant to use and interact with. With Jellyfin and subsonic support coming in a future release, Prism will soon become the go-to audio client for all self-hosters. Thank you Lachlan for building a great app the community can benefit from. One feature request I have would be to add in playback stats. Plexamp can do this with Plex but could be a private API. Hopefully with Jellyfin support, this could become a possibility. Show more

    Thank you
I love this app sooooo much. I saw you’re working on the integration with shortcuts, and I just can’t wait to see it!! And the last feature to make me replace built-in Music app with it would be displaying lyrics! Show more

    Amazing!
I’ve used Prologue for years and love it. I recently discovered Prism. It does not disappoint. The integration with Plex and my Apple Music library is seamless. This is now my preferred method for listening to music. Have you considered creating apps that would integrate Plex movies and TV with the Apple Movies and TV libraries? I would happily pay for these apps as I already have for Prologue and Prism. Show more

Better Shuffle than Plex Amp, but lacking other features
This app is really good and the shuffle is pretty random. I’ve heard songs from my playlist that I haven’t heard in a long time. Just a few annoying things compared to Plex Amp. It usually remembers the playlist that I was playing last, but once in a while it just plays one song and then stops. It doesn’t show the song number and total songs on Car Play. With Plex Amp (or iOS player) it will show 150/2000 for example. It doesn’t have a built in sleep timer. Other than these minor deficiencies , it is a great player. Love getting away from Apple and play my music from Plex!! Show more

    Moving from PlexAmp to this
So used Plex for years and have over 114,000 music tracks, and when PlexAmp came out I was first in and and liked it but just had enough bugs I wasn’t happy. This is freaking awesome so far!!!! Love the EQ and the fact it syncs up with my Plex!!! Show more

    The Best
It’s the only way to listen to music. I store all of my music on my Plex server and listen to it almost exclusively through Prism on my iPhone and iPad. My only complaint is the app’s use of round images for artists — at least give me the option for those to display as squares. Show more

    No brainer.
Finding Prism — as a Plex user — was a revelation. It’s everything I’d wanted in an iOS music player with functionality to spare. Downloading for offline play is seamless, streaming is without issue. Zero hesitation in saying this is THE essential app for a Plex user with a music library. Show more
