This is the most immersive, soothing, and also knowledge rich nature app that I have ever encountered. I am totally blind, and a bird or by ear since age 4. I’m now 66. I use this app to teach myself about more birds and soundscapes, but I also listen as Dr. Lang directs, just to absorb the beauty and keep myself calm, I use these landscapes when I am working, doing yoga, walking,. Nature sounds are too often used in casual and incongruent ways in the now overly saturated domain of meditation and relaxation recordings. They are ultimately diminished in how they are overlayed and co-mingled with myriad other textural and musical elements according to the subjective “artistic” sensibilities of the producer/creator. Lang offers none of that. He simply shares wondrous moments of nature’s spontaneity and gives us the opportunity to practice true listening. As I have come to understand through my own experience of listening to what Lang has captured, and in reading his own views on his work, he is a rare individual who patiently assumes the role of a searcher. And through his own deep practice of active listening, he invites us into that same action, but with a more honest discernment of where our attention is actually situated. As a longtime backpacker who has been woken up countless times (during both day and night) to so many wonderful, spontaneous, and sometimes alarming collections of sounds, I appreciate that the particular nostalgia these recordings evoke in me is not connected to specific moments or memories, but to a basic nostalgia for what is real. I love this app and often use it to meditate to or fall asleep with. A great way to discover nature - for example I was surprised by the human-like talk of a young beavers in a recording near their beaver-dam home at night. Plenty of sounds to choose from, of all weather, environments, and times of day and night. It’s very nicely organized with a great description and photos of what you’re listening to, also identifying the various animals, birds and sounds if you’re interested. You can choose which sounds you want to download so it doesn’t take up added space. The app is occasionally updated with new soundscapes- I only wish more often! Show more

As we loose animals and our natural world at a staggering rate, this body of work is important from a documentation standpoint! I’ve tried other meditation apps. And none compare. As a Vietnam Veteran with PTSD. I have found the calming affect beneficial to my well being. I fall asleep easier and wake up to the stress reducing calmness I’ve been seeking. I just want to thank you. Peace be with you. Show more

It just began a couple of months ago and nights are the most difficult times for me. But whenever I can’t sleep, or when I’m really frustrated by the sounds during the day, I listen to this app and can relax. I can tell that these soundscapes are natural and were carefully prepared. Lang Elliot’s nature sound recordings are AMAZING! What makes these sound tracks AMAZING is they are REAL, not digitally reproduced. These recordings are crisp and clear, not garbled like a lot of other nature sound tracks, and there are so many to choose from! My favorite, “go to” tracks are Pebble Beach, Thrush Glen, and Beaver Pond Nightscape. Show more

Classic Lang Elliott, bringing life to sound. A beautifully-executed application. Lang’s skill and passion both make this an app that’s absolutely essential.

I have downloaded and used several apps that claim to be sounds of nature but nothing captures the beauty of actually being there. The quality of the recordings (especially with Apple AirPods) is so immersive. I also like that the recordings are long and properly edited so that when looped it feels continuous and there are no specific sounds that you can pattern so that you don’t lock in or anticipate specific parts which I find distracting in other recordings. Add Lang’s well written descriptions of the where and when of the recordings is a nice touch. And for what you get the price is worth it. Can’t wait for more albums. Show more
