i had the SK1 for nearly 40 years (literally just donated it yesterday because some of the black keys broke off and were missing) and i still have an SK5 that i picked up about a decade ago. this app does what they do and a lot more. it’s excellent. my only requests would be for a tap tempo and an ability to set the FX separately for the drums and keyboard. The Casio SK-1 I had as a child had a button for rhythm fill-ins. Add this, and decrease the empty space in front of the sound when sampling, and this would be a 4 or 5 star app! Show more

I very seldom write reviews on here but I just really love this app. Sounds just like the old Casio samplers. The effects are great, too. It has some occasional glitches but it’s worth it. Show more

It will record input but no output. That’s the whole reason I paid for it.

The SK-1 had beautiful built in chord patterns in addition to the drum beats. PLEASE ADD THESE. You guys are doing an excellent job otherwise.

I love this app. I just got it and am playing it non stop. And one of the best parts is it’s only 5 dollars! You can change the sound and the tempo and you can record yourself. Get this app. You will be very happy. It is also very easy to use. Show more

First of all I wanted to say that I own all the Fingerlab apps. I love them and the way that they are pretty much all different and useful in a large sea of music making applications, very cool and this is no different but...... Why is it that we cannot use the sampler and pads to be triggered and sequenced by midi? Seems like it would be an easy enough thing to implement? Maybe I’m wrong but if we could use those sampled sound sets, user created, it’d be freaking so great. That would make this thing so much more useable in my opinion. Maybe it’s because you guys are trying to make this SK as similar to the original piece of hardware? I don’t know but I would easily add one more star and would be thinking if I could, add a hundred more stars to the review. One way or another this little guy is fun and adds a very cool low bittish, purposely crappy dimension to some of my tracks. Love it but please kind devs make those pads midi accessible! Show more

In Settings, only reset samples seems to do anything. In FX, the keyboard, pads, and the other selection don’t seem to do anything.

The free app is pretty useless without paying to upgrade. You cant even test out the most basic aspects of the sampling feature—the entire point of SK keyboards. So i wont be paying for that feature since I cant even test it out first. The full app may be great, for all I know, but this free version is garbage, since you cant even test out the sampling. Interface is both nostalgic and friendly... $4.99 is worth it to upgrade to all instruments and the ability to record. Recording is by far the best function. So handy. Show more

Latest update removed the full version purchase and reverted back to the basic version. Emailed and asked to be refunded for my full version upgrade purchase and no reply from the developer. Show more

This is a great app. I’ve contacted the dev because the AU won’t open in NanoStudio 2. Otherwise it’s great fun and very useful!

Update - The developer responded directly to the concern and rectified it immediately. One star review is now easily a 5 star review. The app is perfect. When you try to hit any of the sample buttons or make an attempt to record a sample, the app crashes. Not cool to $5 to not have access to the apps ultimate selling point. Show more

When you select any one of the sample buttons (not the pads), the app crashes and disappears. Can’t enjoy it if it’s not there!

Like the original, but better.
