This is a great app to build song ideas. Pitch to MIDI and pages and pages of configurable MIDI keys with y axis velocity along with patch change and continuous controller assignments. IAA interfacing allows master quality sound sources. MIDI file export that provides separate instrument channels. SOME REQUESTS 1.) Undo redo 2.) Cell copy and paste 3.) Save as and rename project file ability Maybe freshen up the iPad interface like the one in a couple of the developer’s videos that didn’t make it to release. I'm giving this app 5 stars because I know how much time it takes to program something like this. The feature set is HUGE! I don't know the programmer, but I know how much work was put into this to get it to where it is now since I program in Xcode myself. Respect goes to the developer. I love the chord keys. But I couldn't figure out how to program them to play chords I create. Maybe I missed that button. This is a serious tool for anyone looking to create MIDI loops "on the fly". Totally fun! Show more

I was dreaming of an app like these for so long. Now it is a true reality. Infinite Looper gets those songs out of my mind fast, with no menus, no silly icons, or hard to figure out steps, nothing except an intuitive UI, where the music never stops. You select a loop slot, arm and record, then when you are done with that midi looping section, just arm another one and so on and so forth, so simple! Yet, so powerful, load up Moog Model 15, Drum Perfect Pro, and other instruments, and your imagination is your limit. Thank you so much for such an awesome app! I truly can't wait for what the future holds for Infinite Looper! Latest update July 2017! This little Looper is a beast and a must have on iPad and iPhone! I've used or tried several looper apps but I think this is may be the one that ends my search for the most logically laid out app for quickly putting together song ideas. A couple of features I would love to see would be a pre-roll count-in, and onboard effects. Nonetheless, this app is a no-brainer purchase that incorporates the looper concept into an iOS DAW format, and with a fairly quick learning curve. As a bonus, I've found the developer to be responsive to questions. Highly recommended! Show more

I have most all the different midi sequencers, but i get my ideas down faster, more importantly with the arrangements. Being able to play more than one clip simultaneously on the same track is great. Show more

This app was good out of the gate as a quick way to get musical ideas out any time or any place. The developer has just kept improving and improving it, listening to users and gradually putting in one great thing after another - all without bloat and without sacrificing the essential simplicity that is its beauty. With the addition of cc automation, this is now among the best iOS songwriting tools on iOS. The full featured sequencers and DAWs are great, but they can be intimidating just to start up a project and start making music. With IL you can be getting those ideas out of your head with virtually no barrier to entry. Try it! You won't regret it. [edit Jan 8, 2017] Another update, and things just keep getting better. Lovely app. Another winner from the always innovative Secret Base Design. Highly recommended!

Immediate pleasure, reward, of running midi loops, being able to edit, being able to run your own synths etc. love that it's so quick to get up and going with but sophisticated enough to take advantage of what's available. AND a song mode that is easy to use. This has the feel of a long term keeper and a grower. November 2016: This really is terrific and more importantly I am still using it all the time. Nice bonus that the developer is also on the ball and seems a genuinely good guy into the bargain. January 2017: More arrived and more coming. Very happy camper. Show more

Didn't like it at first, but the new updates, and getting familiar with it I'm liking it.

Need a quick way to record midi with AUM? This will do nicely. I wish there was a FAQ page or pdf manual with instructions. There is a nice video that tells you everything but that isn't a good substitute. Other than that, I have no complaints. If you are an iOS musician - show some love for this developer, he definitely deserves it! Show more

For many people this may be a very useful app. I have many MIDI apps and the biggest issue for me is not being able to send MIDI out to different channels. It does have IAA host capability and Link support so it can cover a wide range of musical options. My rating for the app would be much higher if there weren't already some very capable MIDI apps.
