    The best
This app is amazing. Great for programming synths that are heavy on the menu diving, and great for patch management. It supports a ton of synths and more are added all the time. Plus the new pricing structure is much better, it's a no-brainer for anyone with a couple of these synths. Seems like the price was an issue for people before but it makes more sense now and is very much worth every penny in my opinion. I use it regularly with the Roland D-05 and Korg Volca FM, both of which are currently pretty common and very accessible to the masses (they're cheap). They're also both very powerful but notoriously difficult to program from the front panel. Even just simple tweaks on presets can be a pain on the D-05/50 but with this I can easily build wild patches from scratch/init. One more thing, I couldn't figure out why something wasn't working but they got back to me and it was simply that the midi channel was reset during an update, they were very helpful in troubleshooting and answered other questions I had as well. They're doing good work! Show more

    use with the Korg Minilogue
This app is an absolute must have if you own the Minilogue. The software by Korg does not give a view of patch settings and this does it extremely well via Bluetooth. The cost for what this does is nominal. If you spend $500 for a synth, $20 to greatly expand editing ability is nothing. Show more

    Not free to try
No longer free to try. $30 to try for one synth. No thanks. Maybe $2 a month for everything if you want to do subscription. I’d pay $30 once for everything. Show more

    Why the cost?
I used to find this app very useful, but now i cannot use it AT ALL without paying. Seriously? I shouldn’t have to pay more than a dollar for a sysex editor, and even then it still would be ridiculous. Please just make this free. Show more

    Overpriced
Looks like this developer decided to adopt a subscription pricing scheme on an already overpriced app. But now you can’t even preview the program templates before you buy which is exactly why I decided against purchasing. I was about to buy the Mopho, volca fm, and jd xi program interfaces (used to be $20 and is now $30!! Lol) but I’ll look elsewhere as there are plenty of reasonable alternatives with better GUI and free (lemur, max4live, okdev for the jd xi which is free). I realize I could subscribe for a month and get all the templates for less but I would rather invest my time and money into something I plan on using long term without being billed monthly. If the pricing was reasonable like $10 per synth I probably would have bought all 3 even without being able to demo before buying like before the update and like the website claims you can do. ?? Pricing is bonkers
It makes sense to offer each synth on its own as people are very unlikely to have all or even most of these synths, most people will have one or maybe two, but to price every synth at $20 makes no sense at all. A $20 app to help with a multi thousand dollar synth makes sense, a $20 app to help with a $150 synth like the Volca FM is crazy. I feel like this was a super short sighted move by the developer that will lose them sales rather than make them money. I’m sure 10x people would grab that if it was $4.99. Edited review down to 1 star after the dismissive comment by the developer. Completely missed the point while patting himself on the back. Lame. Show more

Lifesaver for DX and D50 Synths
I use this app along with an IPad midi dock every time I turn on my TX-7, TX-802, DX-7 and Roland D-50 Synths. Makes editing and recalling patches extremely easy. I use to long for physical controllers for these synths, but having all these available in one app has been awesome. Highly recommended! Show more

    Very useful for rackmount synths
If you have one of the supported synths get Patchbase. Instead of fighting old school interfaces you can actually focus on being creative and using your ears. Works great with the Apple Camera Adapter into the USB port on a Novation SL MKII controller. Also the developer is friendly and responsive. Can't wait for more synths to be added. Show more

    Necessary Synth Companion
If you own one of the supported synths, this is a must-have companion. Regardless of your familiarity with synthesis, Patch Base opens up a new world for these synths. The saving of patches alone is worth the price, let alone the hands-on aspect. Totally worth the price and looking forward to future updates! Show more
