    App will not load
I’ve got iOS 13.1.2 on my iPhone and the app won’t load in GarageBand.

    Not made for iPhone
It’s absolutely impossible to read anything on the screen. The app is made for either computers or iPads. You couldn’t see anything in this app even with a magnifying glass. Getting a refund Show more

It is great at what it is intended for.
Gives you all the utilities necessary to conjure up some quick notes within a key. It’s great that you can guide it to be more or less dense. Have infinite regeneration, have a lot of options for the ‘spread’ of notes and a few other things. If I have a pattern I already like (this is monophonic btw) I can easily edit notes to get it to taste and it has quick access to transposing by octave. When I first used this I was a bit aggravated by its messy behavior when trying to adjust parameters while it is in playback. But for the most part this is just a result of me ‘using it wrong’. When used with a little forethought and purpose it is a great utility to have in hand, fun in fact. Show more

    Awesome!
I already have the desktop version and re-purchased this for my iPad. Great work!

    Great App!
There are several apps out there for this function, to generate “riffs” and melodic ideas, and I think I’ve tried most of them. This one seems to work best for me. Lots of options, pretty easy to get to them, and it just works. Also works beautifully as an AU plug-in; really good of the developers to include this capability. Show more

At last a good sequencer for the iPad!
The Riffer app is the first really decent sequencer I have used for iPad that plays nice with hardware synths. I feed the MIDI out from Riffer to my MIDI/CV converter to control my modular synth rig & it works great. This app is worth the money. Show more

    Unable to change MIDI channel
It defaults to channel 1, as far as I can tell there’s no way to change this. Would be nice if you could sequence multiple channels also.

Excellent! The best Balance of custom and generative. Recommended!
I have several apps that randomly generate notes for you, but it’s always hit and miss with regard to useable composition. With Riffer, it generates excellent sequences nearly every time. And, another thing that sets it apart is that the sequences are editable and you can draw in notes manually. You can lock down specific characteristics to keep, while randomly generating others. You can even set it to infinitely generative sequences and pick what you like from it. And then export a midi file. It’s also completely useable on a small iPhone SE screen, though the controls are a bit small. Highly recommended! Show more

    Marvelous
This app was in my top 3 new apps for 2018 and that's saying a lot given all the great apps that arrived in 2018. In short, this is my go to riff generator and I use it all the time for inspiration and more. The difference with this one is that the results are more musical than most of the other generative apps out there. Well done! Show more

Cool but needs AUv3 MIDI FX option
This is a cool app but it appears as an AUv3 Synth app. There are many of us who need this as an AUv3 MIDI FX app instead. It would be nice to have an option, or at least two versions instead. I currently can’t use it as a Synth app in my DAW. Show more

Buggy and not made for iPhone
Really wanted to like this app -so disappointed. First, there has been no attempt at all to make this usable with an iPhone screen size. The font size is nearly microscopic on my 8 plus. However, I was willing to live with this once I learned by trial and error where things were and accepted that it would take multiple taps to actually hit my tiny targets. Once I was able to use the app I got many great results and song ideas. Saved them and when reloaded found the patterns were replaced by a single repeating note. Came back a day later and found all my saves were totally gone. Completely useless. Show more

    Serious Flaws (revised)
The midi and transport functionalities are seriously flawed. Note tie and sustain do not function properly when used in conjunction with note probability. This could be a great app. I question the choice of making it AUv3 compatible before fixing these issues. Response to Developer: Thanks for the update. When Ableton link selected and Sync Start/Stop deselected, transport does not begin on step one. Midi Import selections do not stay deselected. Impossible to deselect all choices for no midi input. Would be nice to have more real estate in the UI for that. Update: Just tested latest version. I see now that volumes of ghosted notes (greyed out) must be changed manually in order for them to be filtered from the output. Can that be implemented programatically? Show more

    Great app for Riffs
The app does a good job of generating riff sequences for you which you can also modify. Several of these as AU instances is very effective for writing songs. Lots of scales to choose from. Show more

    Does not work for me
This app is very buggy. I cannot get it to work after a very long time trying. Interface on the iPhone is just a scaled-down version of the iPad, which makes all the buttons way too small to be usable. Show more

    No sound
    There’s no sound

Nice tool with a few teething issues
This App does exactly what it says it will do. It’s simple to generate new musical ideas and route them using MIDI to the destination program of your choice. Sometimes when changing parameters what sounds like a chord will be played instead of the expected note. This is a bug that needs to be fixed. Another useful addition (or maybe it does this already but I haven’t figured it out yet) would be if the App could generate a few sounds of its own - this would be useful for quick demoing. Thanks for making this App! Show more
