    Amazing app
I’ve been a church choir member for more than 50 years and this app is making me more proficient in skills I didn’t realize I was weak in. Just one example: write down a very simple melody without showing me where to start on the staff. I thought “are you kidding me?” but I did it :-) One piece of feedback for improvement: it would be great to be able to correct an error after checking it, but so far it doesn’t appear that app allows that. It said you could play free
The way it was written I though I could play free, but only one lesson a day. I’ve waited two days, and I can only start a new lesson by subscribing. Deleted Show more

    My Students Love It!
This is the best app I’ve found to supplement my theory lessons while I teach. My students love it! Not to mention great experience with the developers if a problem arises. 5 star! Show more

    Needs work
tl;dr — Excellent concept, unusable in its current state. First of all, I absolutely LOVE the concept of the app and what it’s trying to do. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but in its current state I just can’t. I am a music teacher, and I checked out the free trial of this app to see if it’s something I could use with my students. As someone who has used Duolingo in the past for several languages, I love the idea of using that method to learn/practice music concepts. However, pretty soon I started noticing some pretty serious deficiencies. First I noticed that a lot of the text was getting cut off and missing (using an iPhone 5s with a small screen). Not a huge deal, I thought, because I was able to figure out what to do. Then I noticed some notes in the “complete the melody” exercises were also getting cut off. Again I was able to see just enough to find the right answer, but it was certainly annoying to say the least. Then I encountered bigger issues. Melodies that I’m supposed to hear and transcribe would only play one note out of the 4-6 required. I drew the one note I heard, and of course got it wrong because there were more notes that weren’t played. I got a question that simply said “select the” and I had to randomly guess what it wanted me to select. Finally, I was asked to transcribe a melody, but I couldn’t draw anything on the staff; all I could do was zoom and pan. This happened three times, always midway through the third level of the second chapter. I simply cannot do anything to progress past that point. Combine all this with random crashes, and you have a product that isn’t worth using for free, let alone paying $50 for. I’ll give it two stars because I would love to see these issues fixed and have a usable “Duomusic” app. But right now I can’t give it more than that. Other suggestions for the developer: - avoid using samples with strong overtones (like the organ) for pitch ID, as that can be confusing - higher quality samples overall (especially strings) would be nice - beginner levels should probably skip the accidentals when dragging a note - needs a link inside the app to cancel subscription - consider a different pricing model—$50/yr may be reasonable once major issues are fixed, but monthly costs shouldn’t be much more than $5 Show more

Good idea, quite buggy, pay to play
Basically Duolingo for music and great idea. But after just 45-60 minutes of using it encountered several bugs including wrong notes which is really damaging to the education. I don’t recommend paying for this app. Should be free for a longer time/more levels so developer can fix bugs. Show more

Five start app, but sometimes buggy
In latest update, the context menu no longer shows up on iPadOS13. This makes it almost impossible to add dots to notes for example. This app has been very good, but sometimes when finishing a level, it crashes, then it is impossible to continue. I have found that deleting app, and downloading it again, then going back and replaying the earliest unfinished module is the only way to proceed. If you play ones that are unlocked but after some locked modules, they always crash. When the app is working, it is wonderful, and has really helped my kids. It is updated very frequently ... which is nice, but sometimes when the app gets into one of these stuck states the updates don’t fix it unless you go back to old modules. Show more

    Subscription is screwy
Hey I chose the 1 month for $7.99 but when it asked to approve, apple says it will charge $11.99. What gives?

    Pretty good
Now that I understand what’s been changed, it’s a very good app, I just didn’t know that it was trial based.
