I have never been fond of the country music played on the typical radio stations that play the same songs over and over. Gimme Country plays old familiar songs and many that I have never heard before. The DJs are artists and extremely knowledgeable about the music and musicians. So you listen and learn! Fantastic! If you are tired of Florida Georgia Line, snapping hip-hop rhythm and “bro” country you will find Gimme Country a most welcome oasis. I also subscribe to Gimme Metal and I certainly hope this venture takes off as that one did. Tune in for great Americana, alt, outlaw, classic, red dirt and the country most of us grew up with. Love the app, adore the music, dig the sales model. Great job all around. I do find there is some instability in how the app maintains connection to the network, which causes long periods of silence or start/stop play. Since this doesn’t happen when I use other streaming services, I can only assume it is something in this particular app. Still, I love Gimme Country. It scratches an itch I knew I had, but didn’t know could be satisfied so dang well! Thank you! Show more
