So hard to tell a button from a word in this app. I find myself just touching random items in the interface to see if it is a button!! Just not intuitive at all. And all the sharing stuff is just pointless. Get the app correct … The previous Yamaha AV app was much easier to use. Show more

It’s awesome when it works but 90 percent of the time MusicCast will not find the device

Shot don’t work.

I totally enjoy MusicCast for the convenience and the net radio stations that I can tune into. However it’s not giving me total quality sound (full range) and the app crashes too frequently requiring a receiver reboot or a total reset. Show more

I used with tidal. Slow software, ugly design, long pause between tracks. Don’t buy it.

Way too much has to go through the app firmware and software do not update synchronously. The app fails to work about 50 percent of the time. No useful support or ways to debug so another 25 peyote the time is spent plugging and unplugging the device. If you like something that only works 25% of the time and like to occasionally feel lucky this should be fun. For most of us it is way more of a pain in the !$$ than it is worth Show more

I have used the previous app, AV Controller for years. It worked great. The new app, music cast is awful. Buggy, massive battery hog. It doesn’t show up in the list of apps for background app refresh and yet it is my top app for battery consumption. Show more

I have a server connected to the MusicCast app, and it has a ton of songs on it. The only way to get to any of them is to scroll for like 10 minutes. Can’t there be a way to search for stuff instead of scrolling through the entire playlist like a monkey? Show more

The first two years we had this app and speakers it worked perfectly. After the update to 5.0 is been nothing but downhill. The app is slow. The speakers rarely work now. I wish we could go backwards and never update Show more

Do not, like me, invest your entire multi-room sound system into MusicCast. It’s unreliable, unstable and now after many year unusable. Constant sound drops, rooms needing to be reconfigured daily, enormous amounts of frustration. Not worth it. I’ve invested thousands of dollars. Don’t repeat my mistake Show more

The app maybe works twice and then I have to reboot everything to work. Most of the time it doesn’t link with other rooms. It has been nothing but a problem. Not user friendly Show more

I have a system with three music cast devices in a second home. I usually reset at least one device back to the factory programming. Now I have a WX021 that won't reset and can't connect via music cast Show more

No casting direct from Tidal app, only clunky MusicCast interface

All of a sudden, I cannot access my Amazon playlist through MusicCast. I did nothing to change my settings, and even the professional I paid to install it has been unable to figure out how to get it working again. SO frustrating! Show more

Have been using for 2 years. Most common issue is volume controls with my phones. Randomly doesn’t work and I need to reboot the app through the settings. Currently using MusicCast 20’s for surround sound speakers. The range seems good but lately one of the speakers has occasionally started to slightly distort sound due to connection. Overall I really like the app. Please add full remote control features like speaker settings in the menu. If that was an option I would never need the remote. Show more
