I personally liked the old format in the app better this one is to many taps to get to one thing .

I really want to like MusicCast, but there are constant connection issues. It cuts in and out. I can’t count on not having my Bluetooth connection cut out consistently. It’s a great day when it works continuously, but that’s rare and the issues never make any sense. On top of that, they did a complete makeover of the app. If it worked properly and consistently I would be just fine with that, but I really wish that energy and resources had been focused on getting their product working efficiently as opposed to aesthetics. Updates should be improvements not setbacks and challenges. Keep it simple stupid.

My first GEN rxa1000a that app is awesome this music cast crap sucking

When it is working as it should it’s a very nice app. BUT, it frequently looses its connection with some but not all devices (RX-V685 & two WX-021). This necessitates going through the connection process which is also hit or miss often requiring multiple attempts. Additionally it is hit or miss when connecting to Amazon Music and NEVER connects to my SiriusXM all access! Be prepared for starting from scratch after updating firmware! Yamaha has what it takes to make this an excellent app but they’ve chosen to give it mediocre attention and provide nearly useless “support”. Show more

A hand on control. An easy way for listening to net radio.

This app is horrible. It can’t connect room easily and doesn’t link up with streaming apps. Go Sonos unless you want to fill up a sweat jar in one day. Show more

In todays world of tech there is no reason for apps not to work seem less. This app is clucked at best. Yes I am using for older model wireless speakers but there is no reason that it is required of me to buy new speakers that work fine just so I can participate in upgrades. I subscribe to Qobuz and the firmware updates to add them by passes my speakers. This fact alone has forced me to never consider Yamaha for any future purchases. Show more
