Sound bar won’t connect

While the Yamaha ATS-2090 Sound Bar has superb sound, it seems like almost every day the volume gets stuck at a constant decibel level (i.e. I can’t turn the volume up or down). I basically I have to re-set the system by unplugging it and re-connecting, before I can adjust the volume. Not sure if it is an equipment malfunction or a software glitch. Either way, I haven’t been able to figure out how to stop the problem from recurring. V/r, G-Man Show more

When it works it’s great. It won’t let me download the update, and it just randomly stops working. Very frustrating.

Sound bar is great and I’ve had no app connectivity issues. However, the app has too many different page selections for the controls, so it is always difficult to find what I need. One or two pages is plenty and the app would be 5 stars. Show more

Nothing about this app is intuitive. Decent SoundBar with a virtually useless app.

This device is to complicated for me. Called tech last week. They got device hooked up to tv where it would automatically come on when tv powered on. Then next day it stopped working. Show more

Can’t get it to work with Verizon for off/on or volume

I can’t believe the money I spent on this and it never works. We uninstall and reinstall and nothing.

My surround was wonderful until we had to get a new router Now its useless! The app won’t let me change networks because it can’t find the sound bar I have did everything possible to get it to connect to change the network. It just says no sound bar found and there is no options to change your Wi-Fi network until it discovers your sound bar. So until I can get the sound bar to connect it’s totally useless. 350 dollars down the drain! Show more

Need to make it easier to get to the adjustments

A high school student could make a better app in a week. Only works when setting up the soundbar for the first time, and, once in a while, to update the speaker. Its a yamaha speaker that feels like a second hand speaker, also the built-in alexa can’t do a bunch of stuff it should be able to do. Update the app. Show more

The user manual states the connection will drop if “The mobile device is not connected to the network using the 2.4 GHzband. Connect the mobile device to the network using the 2.4-GHz band.” Problem: The new X-Fi Gateways do not allow you to change the band. It is a Yamaha‘s responsibility to make the app operational on the 2.4 and *other* bands. This app needs a fix ASAP. Show more

Can’t get app to recognize my sound bar. Can’t adjust volume from my phone

The sound bar sounds great, however, the app always needs to be reconnected. The other issue I’m consistently having is no sound. I then have to unplug the unit to get it to work again. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this sound bar. I am a long time Yamaha fan but this unit needs a lot of attention and it’s a bit disappointing. Show more

Yo, I really like this app! Being able to operate my sound bar from my phone is so convenient! The only thing that’d I’d make better is allowing the use of Apple Music as well as tidal and Spotify. Show more

Works when it connects to the app which is about 60% of the time. Would probably have chosen another sound bar if I knew this was going to be the case. Show more

I can’t tell Alexa to change the input anymore. The app doesn’t let me set up a wake up default input. And the volume slider is annoyingly small. It should be vertical and huge so you can finely change the volume. But they won’t listen and change this because it’s a large corporation. Show more

Sound bar will not stay connected to either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. When you mute the TV or mute the sound bar it shuts off and you have to reconnect every time you wanna watch TV. Do not buy this device. Show more

This app is a remote controller that you have to connect everytime to use the sound bar, it’s easier to just pick up the remote then go through all these unnecessary procedures, you still won’t be able to connect to your tv through this app which is the only reason I downloaded it. Never buying Yamaha again worst user experience I’ve experience on any technology these days it’s like I’ve been sent to 2000s with them. Everytime I connect to the tv and pause a movie for a little I have to reconnect the whole sound bar system, other owners tell me they have the same issue. Show more
