    Good tool
So I recently picked up a 851N music streamer. It allowed me to replace my pre amp and DAC separates with a all-included unit. The DAC section of the 851 is pretty good it’s much smoother than the DAC magic plus which it replaced. The AD DACs were a major upgrade coming from the wolfson. Switching sources is easy in the app and makes it easy to pick usb, air play or Roon which is what I primarily use. Sound quality is good on Sirius symphony hall and met opera radio using air play. The Roon ready is easy to use just select Roon ready in this app and add it as a audio end point on your Roon audio settings tab. It will display album art and track title and artist on the display which is nice. I primarily got this to replace my separates and be able to control the hifi system all from my iPad. Only giving four stars as the app interface could be improved. Really happy with the 851 will give me many years and hours of listening enjoyment. Compared to competitors products which I also looked at this was the best and most stable app at the price point. You could go to blu os but that app has terrible reviews. I’ve been a Cambridge customer since 2010 and have never had a bad product from them. This is the streamer you want to get at this price point because the integration is all managed in house for the app and the hardware. Really pleased with my purchase. Show more

Needs to enable Tidal Masters streaming
The recent improvements are much appreciated. However you now need to enable streaming of Tidal’s Masters higher resolution files. The app throttles resolution down to 44khz / 16 bit

    Disappointing, buggy
StreamMagic for iPad has simply stopped displaying my DLNA servers. It connected with them just fine for months, then...not. So, no ability to browse my personal music collection via StreamMagic on the iPad. I must either select music in Roon (a service I’m not sure I want to keep), run StreamMagic on one of my 2 Android devices (both of which display my DLNA servers just fine), or select the music from the CXN V2’s front panel controls. I deleted and reinstalled StreamMagic but this solved nothing. iPad app (or the CXN V2 itself) has other issues. When you CAN browse your DLNA server by file and folder, you CANT long-press on a folder name and then choose to have that folder’s contents replace the current queue (which is totally doable in StreamMagic for Android). The context sensitive menu is missing entirely at the folder level. You can -enter- the folder and select the first track, and then have it play from there. Is that the same thing? No. Because Cambridge does something idiotic. When you choose to “Play from Here”, Cambridge Audio doesn’t add this newly selected set of tracks to the -end- of the previous queue, it seems to insert it between tracks 1 and 2 of the previous queue. So you play your newly selected album (by tapping “Play from Here” for the first track) and when the album ends...track 2 of the previously played album starts. Idiotic. So to avoid this, you have to manually clear the queue before you start the album (which takes more taps than necessary on an iPad, because the app insists on confirming the deletion of the queue—not true of the Android version.) It’s all just so badly thought out and QC’d. Kind of wishing I had bought a Bluesound device instead. Show more

    Works like a charm
I am not sure why this app gets bad reviews. Speaking from my own experience, it meets my expectations. I have been using the app to control a CXNv2 for 7 months, since 04/20. I stream WAV encoded files from a NAS, listen to Internet radio and connect with AirPlay from an iPhone. Occasionally AirPlay will glitch requiring me to restart the IOS music app, but that is the only problem I have encountered ... and it is by no means a deal breaker. This review is for app v1.4.1. Worst streaming app I’ve ever used
I’m surprised a company like Cambridge audio put their name on this app. It loses connectivity after playing one song. I have to wait a minute till I can play the next song. And After I play a song, it doesn’t play the next one on the list. It just plays a random song from somewhere. I am using hard wired Ethernet from my router to the cxn v2. It’s NOT a problem with my wifi. I’ve even tried it on different phones and iPads, but nothing worked. This app is reallllly bad. I think I’ll return the cxn and get a marantz just because of this app. Show more

    Works great for me
Had an issue with finding my favorite stations for the CXN V2. Was able to call a real person at Cambridge support who walked me through it. The app is great overall with lots of functionality and while I’m not a fan of so many steps to go in, out, and through Qobuz and Tidal menus and selections, I’m really enjoying the radio streaming much more now. Useless
App will not find my CXR 200 as a device, but bizarrely if I look in the media tab it finds a USB device plugged into the CXR and you can look at the files on the USB although they won’t play. Show more

    Couldn’t log in
Tried to log in. I entered my email address. I received an email with a link to log on. Clicked on the link. A web page opened with an “Open” button. Clicked open. Got the same web page. Clicked open. The App Store opens . Doesn’t seem to be a way to actually log in. Show more

    Horrible
I have CXN V2 player which is great, but Cambridge Audio can not make decent application to control it. This app is even worse then Connect, is there any testing done prior to offering this to their customers ? So many bugs, it’s makes this completely useless. Show more
