As mentioned previously, there isn’t a way to export tracks. To top it all off the app crashes frequently if you try anything other than playback. Very disappointed in TC Electronic. Bad software severely limits what could be a very handy tool. Show more

Maybe if I play the pedal into an interface to export. The app just crashes. Semi defeats the purpose of the pedal if I can’t just get the riff on my iPad to work with it. Show more

I own the riff recorder and have mainly had good luck with it. I do not use it as often as I like, however I still keep it around just in case. The wiretap app as a standalone recorder is my go to. The compression and overall audio quality is the best I have found. The playback is top notch- the main gripe is a lot of times I record a piece or a quick session and boom it crashes. Beautiful moment in time that I was hoping to capture- absolutely gone to the universe. If anyone is out there from TC- is there a way to fix it? It pauses for every song- as if it is saving on a server somewhere and then naming the tune. If the software could be less glitchy my workflow would be much better. Thanks for 70% working great sounding app. It would be a 5 star if there was way for it to not glitch out- maybe even play in the background when the app is on standby- probably help. Show more

Still crashes whenever you try to export a song. Also, if you factory reset your pedal and you had songs that the app knew about you end up with a grayed out song that cannot be deleted. The only way to get rid of it is to delete the app and reinstall it. Doing that, of course, wipes out all of your songs that you could not export due to the other major bug. Show more

This app is less than horrible!

The app freezes constantly and deletes your songs randomly. I recorded several songs and when I checked back to listen to them they were gone.

Hey Ahj303, thanks for your review/tutorial. I had no ideas I had to explicitly transfer files from the pedal to my phone, even though they appeared on my phone and I could listen to them. If anyone is having trouble exporting files, look at Ahj303’s review. You have to left to right swipe the file in the app to actually make it live on your phone. Only then can you share it. This app works exactly as intended. It is a fantastic app to use with the TC Electronic Wiretap Pedal! My Pedal connected immediately to the Wiretap App and performs with no problems. I had no issues pairing the pedal to my iPhone 6 Plus via Bluetooth. After pairing, the App picked up my recordings from the pedal. I then chose whether to sync the recordings to the App or delete them. The Wiretap App and Wiretap Pedal perform flawlessly together. This is an outstanding App! Show more

I was all set to but the Wiretap, but after reading the reviews here decided to download and try the app out first. The app plays the included sample riffs fine, but crashes every time I tried to export them. That’s a deal breaker for me, which is really disappointing. It’s also probably not a good sign that the app hasn’t been updated in a year. If the developers are watching this, you have a potentially really good product that I was ready to spend money on. Without the app functionality thought it’s just not worth it for me. Show more

This COULD be one of the most useful apps for guitarists. Once it syncs with the pedal (I did it, couldn’t really explain how I did it) it works flawlessly. Even transferring the riffs to my iPad worked great. Sadly, once the tracks are there you can’t export them to anything else. I think it’s supposed to be able to happen, but it just crashes. This app is a real anomaly in TC Electronic’s generally flawless interfaces between their pedals and iOS-based applications. Worse, they’ve appeared to just have written it off. The Wiretap pedal is perfect. The sound quality is exactly as-recorded. But the app renders the entire endeavor nigh useless. C’mon TC! What the hell is this? Just assign a software team to work on it for a week and fix the damned thing so we can use it! Show more

Yes, the pedal records. But the app is not easy to use and doesn't transfer the riffs like it says it does. Very disappointed.

No matter how many times you try to pair the pedal to this app it just doesn't want to do it. Worked once, disconnected itself and won't pair again even after following the instructions EXACTLY as directed. Awesome pedal. App would be awesome too if it actually worked. Please fix. You'd have a pedal and app combo that is second to none. Show more

The pedal works great! I'm taking a star off the app because it is not intuitive at all how the thing works. It took quite a bit of playing around, but I finally figured it all out. First, you need to make sure you're in the correct mode which you select at the bottom right with the little pedal icon or the phone icon. The pedal mode won't be active unless you're paired with your Wiretap and it is on and connected via BT. To delete a file you have to swipe from the very right of the track you want to delete. When I say the very right, this means you need to be touching the little pedal or phone icon for the track. If you're in pedal mode it will ask if you want to delete the file on the phone, the pedal or both. If you're in phone mode, then you can only delete the file on the phone, it will still be on your pedal. The sync a track from the pedal to your phone, you need to swipe from left to right on the track you want to move. Again, from the very, very far left. It should then sync over to your phone. I hope this helps others. TC really needs to make it a little more obvious and maybe even have a help function in the app. Otherwise, this is a great pedal and app. My riff collection will be growing exponentially. Show more

Does just what it says. Easy and quick riff bank for free. Simple and intuitive UI.

Usability is a 0. Swipe to delete does not work 90% of the time. No direction on transfer etc. big letdown for such a great pedal.

OK I have downloaded this app twice now and no matter how many times I try I cannot erase the recordings that I have put on here the actual recordings sound phenomenal but you can't erase them no matter how many times you swipe it to the right or to the left they just won't go away. Unless of course you delete the app and start over again. Obviously this problem needs to be fixed Show more

The record feature is great but app crashes and closes when trying to share. The whole purpose of Wiretap is to share with band mates and others. ?

So far so good. Useful tool. To delete recordings, swipe from right to left on a recording.

It takes far longer for a track to download to your phone than is reasonable. Hope that gets fixed soon

The way the pedal is advertised, it seems that you can sync recordings in both directions. This is what I want to do: I want to record a riff on the pedal, trim it on the iPhone, and then sync that back to pedal. But apparently that's not possible. It would be awesome if there was a count-in and metronome feature, by at the least there should be the two way sync!! Show more
