New user of both the app and keyboard. Keyboard is great but the app has a constant issue of saying “There was an error, please try again.” And throwing you back to the Home Screen after the completion of any activity/lesson/song. Deeply annoying and I hope it’s fixed soon. Show more

After playing any song for 30seconds it errors and goes back to it’s Home Screen. Half the time on this screen it is frozen and then I have to hard close the app and restart it. When it disconnects it blast me with maximum brightness. Terrible, regrets :(. Pretty pathetic there software doesn’t even work on iPad. They should be ashamed. Show more

The application will not open at all. Shuts down immediately after the logo pops up making the keyboard a hunk of trash because you can’t use it without the app. Waste of money! Show more

I ordered this awhile back when they were having a launch promotion and just finally opened everything today. I was so excited. I do have some previous piano and other instruments experience, but mostly at a beginner level. First I tried the classic Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and whatever version they have on there is NOT the traditional Twinkle that most folks know, which completely messed me up. Why have a song that people can’t check what they’re doing by ear? I’m used to looking up and not down at the keyboard when playing and the colours make that difficult and the set up gives a very bad feel for what the timing of the song is. Itsy Bitsy Spider was also abnormally difficult because I just can’t get down with the LUMI app format. I am saddened, disappointed, and I am pretty sure I regret this purchase. I would have been better off with a simple beginner piano book and the keyboard I already have and continuing to be able to better check my playing by ear versus looking at the keyboard and the colours. Just. Disappointing. And this was just day one. Going to look to see if I can return this because it’s not going to work for this beginner piano student that already knows the basics. Something to keep in mind if you are already a playing beginner and think that this may help you. It doesn’t mesh well with more traditional training methods, in my opinion. Show more

I’ve tried reaching out to customer service, tried every option I’ve found from customer support and online and my LUMI keyboard still won’t connect to the app on my iPad and now I feel like I wasted my money and need to return. Show more

Love this app and midi. Would say, similar to how you sometimes teach people what finger pattern to use in the app and then reinforce with the colors, you should include those numbers on the screen along with the colors. Once you leave the video to start playing, it’s hard to remember the pattern and I find I have to keep replaying certain parts of the video to remember. Also wouldn’t hurt to add more functionality when you own more than 1. When I connect both it mostly still makes me play on one... Show more

I want only to use the classical version of the LUMI app, but the sheet music is black and illegible. Promotional material shows the sheet music white with black notes. It’s a very cool app, but in its present state, it is useless to me. Is there a way to make the sheet music legible? Show more

When I press e flat on the LUMI, it almost never works unless I push it really hard.

Completely useless without wifi connection. That means you can practice when you’re traveling, or when your internet is down. Make the sync progress next time is connected or at least make the free features available without internet. I wouldn’t recommend this product until this is fixed. Show more

I have been wanting a product like this ever since DDR. I feel like I have been taking hour piano lessons every morning. Suggestions; add a repeat option during the lessons. Having to quickly click when I just got my hands comfortable is tricky. I have a hard time picking up where I left off on in the lessons. I have to search and find the one I was on. It would be easier if it was on the homepage. It’s showing the other songs I’ve tried, but the lessons aren’t showing up. Show more

If for some reason you have any problem, there is no phone number for customer support...not in the box, not on the website and no email address either. Creating a ticket via an automated system designed NOT to address your issue and therefore NOT to create a ticket for you is the only hope of being heard...so, no hope unless your problem involves wanting to buy more product. Also, lumi needs your phone or computer to make any noise...and even then, requires their app to be running whenever you play anything...in case you missed those details among all the hype. The product functions reasonably well and the basic app is useful for learning. My one year PREPAID subscription to LUMI Complete cannot be activated because my card expires in ten months...one month before they would be charging it for year #2. nice. and NOBODY to talk to about that. the ticket creator goes directly from “i want to activate my subscription” to either “i was able to activate!” or “i lost my activation code” neither of which apply to my situation. unacceptably abysmal customer support! This device is simply amazing! Almost immediately I’m playing songs I never would of dreamed of! I’m already impressing people like I’m a piano pro but I’m only 4 days in now! It also keeps me motivated to play because it feels like a game but I’m actually playing piano. Show more

Tried multiple devices just to make sure it’s not me. How come you solved the hard problem of hardware and created such a nice product and can’t figure the software?

I got a BLOCKS starter kit for Christmas and had a fun time using the NOISE app until it was no longer supported after the IOS 14 update, and looked to this app to see if it was compatible with BLOCKS could you please either update NOISE or make Lumi compatible with blocks? Thanks Show more

A lot of promise but just like others have mentioned it has A LOT of bugs. Most of the time the video-audio-keyboard lights are out of sync. I have yet to make the scales and chords section run smoothly, when you restart a song the app doesn’t give you enough time to move your fingers to the keys before it throws you into the song, the main menu is a little cluttered and not intuitive to navigate, and it seems like the lessons started out very slow paced but then progressed in difficulty way to quickly. This app HAS SO MUCH PROMISE to be a revolutionary way to teach piano, but it over promises and under delivers at the moment. Show more

We’ve been wanting to teach my daughter how to play the piano, but we don’t know how to teach it. This was so pretty with all the colors, it’s easy to travel with and most importantly, it actually teaches you lessons little by little. Very easy to use as well, which is a plus! Show more
