I have the Fives speakers and this review is based on using this app with them. Like others, the lag on opening to “connect” is very annoying. It does two connection checks every time you toggle between apps and back to this one. Very very frustrating. For example, just to switch to the music player and choose a new song then switch back to the app to adjust settings/volume is a pain. Additionally, there is significant lack when dragging the volume. No real time adjustment, you have to drag it then release then it sends the request to the speakers, so you over shoot or undershoot every time then have to adjust again. Also, no power cycle feature? I have to find my physical remote to power down the speakers. Even my 5 year old Yamaha sound bar on my TV has an app that lets me power cycle. Tempted to drop this to 2 stars because so much is missing/wrong, but I do enjoy having the EQ and control of bass. I’ve also found that using my iPad (which is my main source currently) I can use the split screen with this and the music player and if I leave them both open there is no constant reconnecting….only solution I have so far. This is a great idea! I wish I had more control like individual volume control for my rear speakers. More eq settings and manual settings.

Recently purchased a pair of “The Fives” so I was excited to try this app out. The update process went smoothly following the excellent instructions from the app and the Klipsch website. The app works well in terms of doing the things it is supposed to. The added features you get by using it are great. My only complaint is the waiting period of the app “connecting” and then “getting latest data” that has to happen every single time you open this app. It doesn’t matter if you close the app for a second or an hour. This can and should be fixed by the devs. It isn’t necessary to run on every open - just on a cold start. It’s extremely frustrating and if you’ve used the app you know exactly what I’m talking about. Aside from that issue, the dev team really did a great job with the feature set and UI. I look forward to constant improvements that I hope to see keep on coming from them. To summarize: The app is awesome. Just needs a bit more work to be perfect. Show more

The Fives can’t store settings. You have to pull the garbage app up, wait for it to check for updates, and hope it even connects. Every time. Who wants to deal with this app every time they turn their speakers on? No one. Show more

This App only has EQ presets no EQ adjustments it’s useless APP.

This app is absolutely useless. Launch it, set up your preferences, and launch my music app, and start the music except the Klipsch app disconnects the moment it’s not in the foreground. Whether I have another app in the foreground, or I simply turn off my screen to listen to my music, the Klipsch app just DCs. Absolutely no use at all. Show more

Not just when first launching the app, but EVERY time the app is launched you have to connect again!! I leave my speakers on all the time now so that simply turning them on doesn’t feel like an eternity. Still faster than looking for the controller i lost. Connecting…………………….……………………. The app as well as software in klipsch cinema soundbars is utter trash with no desire from the company to improve it. Cold hard truth

Useless app, the speakers are fine but there’s no way to control the output with this app. Done the update, followed all the steps but this app does not connect to the speakers. It gets stuck in ‘getting latest data’. Disappointing especially after the developer claims to have fixed issues with updating and connectivity in version 1.12.1. Get a different team to work on this! Show more

I’ve had The Fives for over a year and one of the selling points was the app. App never worked and now after a long awaited update it’s somehow worse.

Wow. Klipsch has become worse and worse over the years. When I first got the cinema sound at there was no EQ and the setup sounded terrible. They gave us an EQ in the app finally and it made it better. Ow they took it away again and the setup sounds like crap again. I’m even running 2 12” subs and can barely get anything out of either of them. Come on, Klipsch. You’re sound quality is that of a clock radio lately. Absolute junk. Show more

Why settle for anything else. This product blows others out of the realm. Clean clear crisp & precise sound quality, that you control.

Sorry Klipsch two star max you deserve very bad connection, I hope you will solve this problem.

Only works part time and disconnects at will making the functions it’s supposed to supply utterly useless. Don’t even try to use this and save yourself some pain.

The equalizer presets work well. Sounds great on flat setting but noteably better on the music setting. I wish it had the subwoofer setting included on the app like it’s shows in the app description picture. Show more

Now the cinema 1200 won’t operate since the last update

Was doing ok now it won’t even find the sound bar

It works well -once it’s opened. It takes maybe 20 seconds to open every time you need it. Great to be able to change the settings and I love the system, but it would be great if the app would query the system for changes after it was running and operable. Waiting this long for it to open necessitates having the remote at hand-which kind of kills it for me. Great speakers though. We bought the 12” sub too, so the sound is good. Show more
