My use is quite niche. I record a ton a music and need to hear it on the go. I use Plex server to access my work on remote server. PlexAmp gives me a key feature I need for writing songs to short loops…gapless audio. Thanks so much! Show more

Discovered Plexamp not long ago and immediately found the experience better for music streaming. I have a NAS loaded with close to ~50 GBs of music, and I didn't find out about Plex's local media streaming technology until around the same time. Proud to use Plex. Proud to have Plex Pass. Already love the songs you have? Then you don't necessarily need to pay every month to keep listening. Siri knows where the folders are at. Overall, keep this app as number one! Show more

Library requires pull down refresh to load. Seems like a bug. The “Playlist” view is ridiculously stupid. If you’re listening to a long playlist, and you want to see what’s in that playlist, get ready for stupidity. Instead of the app just showing the whole list, where your current song is, and what is next in order all on one screen, you have to get all this information from various tabs. The “Back To” tab show what just played, but in reverse order with the most recent song at the top. The “Up Next” tab shows the coming songs in the list in the opposite, descending, order, but not all of them. So you can never see all the songs in your playlist in the order in which they are played. Please fix this silliness. Show more

Great app for streaming my plex sever music. Wish you could sort by composer but I think that’s a Plex issue.

[Posted again because apparently it didn’t work the first time] I downloaded this app so I could listen to my locally downloaded audio files on loop, or make a playlist while I get some work done. I’d just stick with SoundCloud, but I need a semi trustworthy offline option that doesn’t stop playing after one song. Some reviews stated you could only download 24hrs worth of content to the app, and that was the limit. I’ve got A TON of music, but figured ‘eh, whatever I’ll just download the ones that are living rent free in my head at the moment, and if it allows me to, I’ll switch it up when needed’. AFTER downloading I realized I NEEDED to SIGN IN (NOT a fan of that) to be able to access the app. I decided upon which of my emails I would use to sign in, and clicked on “sign in with browser”. Then the app said: “This allows the app and website to share information about you” (just FANTASTIC. note the heavy sarcasm there). After creating an extra email just for this purpose, and signing into the plex app with my new google account I got this message: “A Plex Pass is required to use this app. Trust us, it’s worth it” (Why!? Why not advertise the app AS IT IS, and let people know they NEED TO PAY TO BE ABLE TO USE it? The amount of times I’ve sat down, downloaded, and tried getting any app to work, only to realize it did not function without throwing my money at them is OBSCENE. Literally spent enough time on this by now in my life that I could have read a whole book. Waste of time, waste of life). The dam* app doesn’t even let you know how much you need to pay! I wouldn’t be paying it anyway (I’d rather spend my money on vegetables), but other broke people (that might consider paying a small one time fee) don’t even know how much it costs! There’s only an option to go back to the previous page you were just on. I guess if you want to know HOW MUCH you NEED to PAY, YOU NEED to DOWNLOAD their OTHER APP AS WELL. It just says “trust us it’s worth it” Trust has left the room. Don’t bother downloading this if you value honesty, time and your money. Ok let me start off with, “Give it a try” Took me a while to retire this review. I wanted to truly test this application out since I’ve had a Plex Server for a while now for my Movie collection. A few months back Plexamp was in ok place but with a few updates it’s has truly become an amazing application for what it truly does. If you had the question, “I want a place to store my FLAC files which out the outrages fees of other platforms like synology stand alone or Bluesound, where can that be?” Well you answer is Plex. Great performance. Economy. More updates. Works with Sonos. Works with Rune ready devices. Works with Airplay. You also have the ability to control your quality type depending on connection type. WiFi or cellular. Or even download them to your device for offline listening. So give it a try and trust me you won’t be disappointed. (Yes you do have to still set up a plex server to make it work. Don’t worry there is tons of YouTube videos on how to do that. ) Show more

It’s great to have access to your cloud music anywhere. AND the app gets album art and info pretty much on it’s own. I love that. But there are a few problems. For one, the app allows for album downloads, but not downloads of single songs. Also, a downloaded library search would be welcomed. Finally, on occasion the app leaked forever to play downloaded songs. Bottom line is Plex is amazing. Overall my complaints are more for minor tweaks than anything else. Anyway, I’m happy to be able to enjoy my music collection, free of the Apple Music app and other services. Show more
