    Terrible
All reviews are true. Avoid this product. Doesn’t connect at all - they’ve recommended iPhone upgrade - still doesn’t work. Hoping to return this

    So disappointed
    The app doesn’t work period.

    Doesn’t work at all
The app is completely unusable. Everything is grayed out, nothing can be selected. Not sure what the point of the app is... firmware updates fail, unsure why. Seems to connect to Bluetooth fine, but that’s about the extent of it. Bluetooth connection does nothing, can’t create a new song, can’t upload songs or sounds, etc. May return this product all together. Show more

    Very restrictive
Does not Allow customize of all instruments and ability to save/create custom packs. The Orba obviously has a lot of internal, sound potential. In its current form it’s more of a toy. Scales: Changing scales does not work Stuck with the same note tuning regardless of any scale selection Show more

    Won’t connect.
Have updated Orba to latest version on a desktop but this app won’t connect to the unit. What a disappointing experience.

    Bluetooth problem
I tried several times to connect with IOS through Bluetooth but it’s not possible. I have the last software update 14.4

    Simply doesn’t work.
Regardless of connection type (wired or Bluetooth) or device (iPhone, iPad, PC), switching sounds, and maintaining connection has been an absolute nightmare. The iPhone app at the moment doesn’t work at all. Promising device, with some pretty unforgivable bugs at the moment. (Edit: in regards to developers comment. This is using the current IOS, with Bluetooth issues resolved, my Op-Z works fine. This issue is also cross platform as described in my review. The software is simply buggy and doesn’t perform as well as expected. The developers cut and paste response to everyone’s problems or concerns should be a pretty obvious tell that they appear to be in over their heads at the moment. Here’s to hoping we see some software side updates soon that make this a reliable instrument and controller.) Show more

    Only useful for changing sounds...
...otherwise, the app is still a waste of time. Changing sounds/instruments works, but recording? Saving a song? Even saving a changed title? Nope. The latter are (at this time) impossible (using iPhone 11 Pro Max with up to date iOS). Recording? Can be done but is laggy and again - will not save (there’s not even an option to save the song, as pointed out, but even if there was when I tap to end recording it just...doesn’t). Looking forward to an update. ? Show more

    Buggy
Connection always out of sync, it’s hard to clear tracks in general, could use a clear all function, fun needs finesse.

New update still does not work
I haven’t been able to change any of the settings on my order with my smart phone in anyway. The orbit keeps disconnecting and getting locked up with current firmware

    Doesn’t work
After doing all updates, app does not work. Even though the pairing says it’s connected, it absolutely isn’t. Won’t change patches, has zero functionality.

    Returned it...
Bluetooth didn’t work and I couldn’t wait for it to be fixed so I returned the Orba and put the money towards an instrument I knew was more reliable and professional. Show more

Kinda clunky and limited, but it works
Now that the Bluetooth issue is fixed, the app is actually usable. It still feels clunky though - for example, sometimes tapping to change the instrument causes the circle icon to move back and forth once before actually changing - like it's unsure if it wants to change lol. Tapping and holding doesn't cause that behavior though. And changing timbres feels like a crap shoot - some of them don't indicate what instrument they change! The drawer should automatically filter which libraries are available based on which instrument is selected. Then there's changing key - it's not at all obvious where to do that (in the song naming panel). And it would be really nice to have the scale independent of the timbre! The device and app just feel like an expensive toy right now than a musical instrument. The one caveat is that it does seem to work fine as a midi controller, so I'll probably only be using it for that unless the app allows for much better customization. Show more

    Bluetooth issue
I just got an Orba for Christmas and it won’t stay connected to the iPhone app via Bluetooth. Every time I connect it to app, the Orba looses connection after about 5-10 seconds. I don’t have issues when I connect it to my computer via usb/usb-c cable. Is this a known issue? Also, what about the ability to save songs?? I am a bit disappointed so far, but playing around with it is fun. I just wish the Bluetooth connection worked and I could save the songs I create. Show more

    game changer
i love the orba on its own as a device, its everything i expected it to be when i opened it and its a kickass midi with many capabilities at a very reasonable price. the only issue i'm having with it is that the bluetooth capabilities fail and randomly disconnect, even when in range and everything is fully charged. i'm hoping its just a bug with the app and not the bluetooth from the device itself, and maybe is something that could be fixed with an update. otherwise, i highly recommend you purchase one and i always recommend artiphons products to every producer i meet. the instrument one and the orba are both game changers and great pieces to add to your collection. i also love the fact that you can use it right out of the box and as a standalone device, if there ever is an instrument 2 i hope it comes like that as well. if the bluetooth failure on this app is fixed i will happily change my rating to 5 stars! (Updated) Doesn’t stay connected
Update: had to update my phone’s firmware. It connects well now Love the Orba instrument, but connectivity issues on the app make it useless on mobile. It would not stay connected on GarageBand either. It works fine on my Mac connected with a USB cable Show more

    iPhone Bluetooth MIDI trouble
Seriously having a lot of issues connecting this device to my phone. I also can’t update the firmware when I use the USB and my computer. What’s the point of a device that has so many possibilities and much functionality if it can’t even execute on the basics? Show more
