Buy this app! If I could, I would buy it twice, just to throw more money at the devs. If you need a drum machine for your music production, this is it! You can tweak every single instrument/drum into depth with resonator, wave and filter options. You can use a sequencer to create your own pattern, randomize each instrument, change velocity, probability... You can load a preset, then use a randomizer button to keep the pattern but change the settings for the instruments. Basically, you can do almost anything you could need to. Plus the color coded design and looks are amazing. Use this as an AU Extension or a standalone production app. Just use it... trust me. Show more

This is the first review I’ve ever felt compelled to write. This is the most inspiring app I’ve gotten for iPad. The sound quality is excellent for synthesis, and the sequencer has SO many useful features. It can really be your all in one if you load some samples, too. I had a Roland TR-8S. This sounds better, is more intuitive, has a more inspiring and useful sequencer, and costs a lot less. Without question this is the best drum synthesizer and sequencer for iOS. Show more

Would be amazing at $7.99 , $27 bucks for this garbage ~ nah. Speaking from personal experience developer is non-responsive unless they want to be or get insulted then they are quick to jump in here but I write emails and questions through website several several times and all is ignored regarding different program of theirs I own as well. Hey Sugar Bytes thank you for this great app! One thing I would change is to put the USER folder at the TOP of the menu instead of the bottom. Also a way to DELETE THOSE PRESETS would be nice. Show more

Love it!!! -but sale price is not showing up when trying to upgrade - This app is one of my favorite drum/groove apps and SugarBytes apps across the board have been go-to and unique like no others for as long as I can remember. However, right now any help sorting out sale price glitch in app store to upgrade to full version would be amazing. The app in the description says that there is a sale right now for the upgrade to the full version but when I go to purchase it I am prompted to pay the full price. Can you please help get this sorted? Show more

Almost makes me want to sell my model cycles.

After spending the last 3 days delving in this, I have to change my review. The MIDI start thing is still an issue, but is outweighed by the awesome features. The poly rhythms and really well thought out mod matrix and randomization/remix options are just killer. This is the only drum machine app I’ll ever use - might as well delete the others.... great product and worth the price! Show more

Trying to run it on an iPad Pro with the latest OS. Please fix ASAP! Update: The developer has fixed this in version 1.0.1 and has responded quickly so I'm updating my review to three stars accordingly. It's a good app and I'm happy to have it on iOS but there's a lot of fantastic competition when it comes to drum machines and it doesn't quite rise to the level of some of my favorites. Show more

This is a very deep and complex app and they’ve done an amazing job of providing a logical, nice-looking layout. The feature-set and sounds are amazing. Because controls are so tightly spaced, it can be difficult to use. For example, there are per-step sliders that give you incredible control over your sequence! Each slider is very short (1.5 cm), and difficult to control. If you are trying to move it slightly, it wants to center automatically. It shows the value as you adjust, but your finger blocks the value as you move. The chain function only has 16 non-repeating slots- which is an unfortunate limitation. If you are clever, you can make longer sequences using slower tempos and faster step rates. The way Sugar-Bytes provides randomize functions throughout the app is fantastic and may set a new standard! Editing is a bit fiddly with tiny hard to read/use controls, but overall, it’s a very fun and powerful app. Show more

It’s a pretty solid drum sequencer now that I’ve been able to play with it! It’s just a toy unless you get the full version. But it’s a fun toy to play with! Show more

Edit: I was able to get it working by continually tapping the standalone app icon until it opened. Then went to settings (gear in upper right) - advanced - midi - destinations and turned those options off. Opens everytime now. Sugar Bytes are very good with support and any bugs in my experience. As you can see they responded and will fix what doesn’t appear to be a big deal. iOS 14.2 just dropped and must have caused a very minor issue. The app is fine... and it’s so good. I’ve used everything from MPCs, Maschine, Elektron gear, Battery, Guru. This is an absolute beast! ? _______________________________ Had it running in standalone, left iPad and came back and it crashed. Have restarted iPad, reinstalled etc and it now won’t open. Show more
