I was on the lesson and when I played the correct string on the correct fret (before someone says it’s a user error I triple checked that I was playing the right thing and I was) it said that it was wrong and when I played a bunch of random muffled notes it said “great job” and I moved on. Loving the course easy to follow

Another app that pretends to be free but waits to you sign up to tell you it’s $19.99 and lock you into a deal you didn’t want. Wish they would be upfront about subscription services and prices. Show more

a mosltly free guitar learning app

The app has potential, but it just not accurate. I tried placing the phone away from the amp, close to the amp, left, right, you name it, it just struggles to recognize my playing. I had to cancel my subscription because I stopped using it out of frustration. It kinda works with slower stuff, but if you are trying to go for the speed classes and what not, it’s going to be a nightmare. Show more

What can I say except for THANK YOU!, I recently came across one of your advertising posts of instagram and I was very quickly linked to your application on my iPhone, in total I have enjoyed and learned with ease comfortable confidence and a new commitment to become an guitar player and song writer in just a half hour of instruction from your application, where have you guys been all my life! I am 60 years old and enrolled in a audio recording engineer school and now also confident that I will be able to play the guitar on purpose enough to make real music and produce multitrack mix demo’s to share and possibly make money in the entertainment industry. I am definitely a fan and student for sure. Show more

I'm enjoying the course so far. I find it easier that some of the others I tried. Easy to follow along.

This app had a couple of things that did not work for me.

The layout of the app & program is solid but within that there are problems.The lessons are do the job , quick with a linear system.The practice section is good except for the fact anytime I try to create a practice sheet for legato it always switches back to alternate picking,I have yet to use this to practice legato.Also on the lessons where it’s supposed to listen to you play & move along when you play the (which I haven’t used much) has a is very bad at listening and recognizing the note,most times I’ll have to play a note multiple times for it to register & that defeats the purpose of the exercise because there’s no keeping time when you can’t play a bar without being stopped because it didn’t recognize the note. I’ve worked professionally since 1968 as a liturgical organist and accompanist but was not successful at learning guitar until now. The Fretello Method has been inspirational and entertaining in a professional, logical and systematic manner. im definitely a beginner and this is awesome learning so far

I downloaded the app like 6 months ago and have been using it pretty frequently to learn the guitar. Today I went through my phone and found a video of myself trying to play the guitar before I had started practicing with the app.... Wow, I have improved SO much! The cost is EXTREMELY fair considering how expensive it is to hire a real guitar teacher- plus any questions I had were answered by their support very quickly. Also, Google of course. I think it is really motivating and I just wanted to share my experience. Hope it helps!!! Show more

App doesn’t pick up my opening notes on exercises and I frequently have to play a note four or five times before the app hears it. If you press retry on an exercise, it tells you to press play to start the exercise but none of the buttons are mapped. You have to do something to force the device to refresh the display to get the buttons to come back. Talking to Siri or long press on the bottom of the window with a slight movement does the trick.
