App just stops working, now it can’t even find my receiver. I should have just stuck with Marantz. The receiver is in a Media Closet along with the rest of my AV equipment so unless I put in an IR extender, the only way to change my inputs is to get up and open the AV closet. Especially For swtching between main and zone 2 is easier with this app than the remote.

The app was amazing initially…Now I find myself wasting time even trying to use the app(every time I open it it says it cannot find my network). Unfortunately has made me love to hate my onkyo setup. Show more

Once i got the app connected on the same network it worked fine. I did hard wire everything in my house instead of relying on wifi, its seems very stable and works good so far on iphone and ipad Show more

Sad even pathetic that a major electronics company has such an unstable app purporting to control its gear. After spending couple thousand USD on their excellent high end receiver to have it hamstrung by this crappy app is beyond ridiculous and having me consider returning the unit for a properly supported device - it’s 2022 Onkyo - we all using apps to control our increasingly networked gear so high time you focus on fixing / deploying an app worthy of your gear…that may mean outsourcing its development and maintenance to an outfit who knows what they are doing! I’m not sure why everyone complains about this app. It recognized my new receiver and is working great. Quite a few useful options which work great with my equipment.

Cannot for the life of me ever connect this without constant issues. What a waste of money buying Onkyo! I’m done with them

Why have a wireless option receiver and an app that consistently does not work for it? The receiver is wonderful, but the app to wirelessly control zoned music throughout the house is garbage! I’m not one to talk in hyperbole. This app consistently does not locate the receiver. Following troubleshooting…yields no results. It truly is beyond frustrating to have to re-boot, unplug and plug in routers and receivers to see if that might work. More often than not it does not work. I honestly wish I’d bought a different brand receiver. I did not think to look at how the Onkyo app worked when considering the receiver. A lesson to others. Show more

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years on my iPhone & iPad. I love it, it works as I expected, can control tv, Blu-ray, and receiver. I have speakers on my patio that are wired to my receiver and I control that input with the app as well. I can turn them on from my back yard as long as my device has WiFi connectivity from there. Has worked very well so far. Show more

Hard to imagine how they made an app this bad which cannot perform the most basic function connecting to the receiver. 1. Connect w/out pass with Bluetooth. 2. Select Wi-Fi network and enter pass. Couldn’t figure this out? Show more
