    Mind = blown!!
I'm absolutely stunned, seriously. I already have heaps of 24-bit hires audio, and while it sounds good in iTunes or VLC, something about the oversample filter and equaliser take everything to a completely new level. Discovering subtle detail is a true joy. Not sure how this app does its magic, but I feel like I can't go back to those other players. The only problem I face is what to do with the the painstaking organisation I've done in iTunes over the years! Show more

    Finally
I have been looking for a program that can play FLAC files and this one does a great job (better then VOX and the others I tried). And if that was not enough this little gem also converts to AAC & MP3 each with a choice of bit rates. And it is FREE without ads popping up. Maybe not a replacement of iTunes but a definate alternative. Show more

    Amazing Hi-Res player for free
I just started using this Hi Res player and i am totally amazed by the quality of sound it produces. I am using it to play my Hi Res files using Airplay on Yamaha RX-V675 receiver. Only thing I have noticed it doesn’t show the song title on receiver. Also Upscaling is not working while listening music on Airplay. I am not sure whether it is airplay restriction or receiver. But I think receiver DAC can play upto 24bit 192 Khz. Last, I noticed in recent update that the playback is not smooth upon turning on / off the Equilizer. Thanks for this wonderful app. Show more

Great Player for High Res Music
I spent a lot of time ripping my CD Collection and my SACD collection, when I switched over to the mac I needed to get a decent player for DSF and flac files. This program is perfect, works great on my new m1 mac mini. It is free, but it is something i would pay for. Also works great with 192k flac files I have purchased. Show more

Support all popular formats. No Ads.
If you need a good (and FREE) app for DSD, FLAC... so this is the one you are looking for. The UI is extremely simple and easy to looking for the functions I need. Audio output is awesome. I could pay for this app in reasonable price if it is not free anymore. Show more

    Great simple player
Was searching for such applicaition for a while - just drag'n'drop files to playlist and start playing, without any clouds, accounts, imports and other modern stuff. Great job, thank you developers!

    Finally!
A free player that allows my Mac to split and convert audiophile SACD ISO files that can play on my system. My Mac now sounds almost as good as my stand alone Elite SACD player but with added convenience of a huge library on my desktop. Thank you Ahn Siseong! Show more

    Nice, but...
Tried this player out. Nice functions, seemed to work ok on the first few playbacks. The interface is a pleasure, ability to edit tags, large cover, etc. There is a glaring playback issue where at the end of a track there are long gaps of silence. Something is wrong with the buffering. Cross Fade Time changes nothing when adjusted. Basically, there is no gapless play possible. This is very noticeable when 2 tracks are supposed to flow together. You will get a 4-6 second gap, the timer will go past the track limit, and eventually it gets pretty tiresome. Please fix this. Unfortunately, at this point its gotta go in the trash for me and gets 2 stars. Show more

    Like the app also but...
Like the feature sets and simple logical layout. Seems to crash when I try try to add a .dsf (DSD) file to the playlist Might be the horrably inadaquit memory on this iMac? works fine for .flac files. Like the app otherwise tho. Show more

Good to listen music without iTunes as minimal player.
Thers' many kind of players on Mac app store but they are mostely expensive junks even some players want to pay monthly. This player maybe an excellent player among of non-cost.

I hate and love this player
It has flaws, it has good stuff, it is weird and it plays good.....Why can't Mac OS have decent music player????

    Highly recommend.
Coming for .dsf format player. Pine player just works, quick and powerful. Last but not least, you know it's free. Cheers,

Pretty good but definitely has flaws
I've been using VLC as general media player for years. But I eventually realized that it artificially boosts the volume of everything that it plays and I don't like that. I want to hear the music as it was originally intended. So I started looking for other audio players, that also do high rez files. That's when I found Pine Player. The first thing that I noticed was that the EQ function is on by default. If you're a purist like me, make sure you go into the prefs and disable the EQ. I have been plagued by a problem with Pine Player where I open a bunch of audio files at the same time (let's say the 12 flac tracks that make up an album). And either Pine Player launches, and doesn't open the audio files / load them into the play list.... or it loads them into the play list, but doesn't start playing automatically and I have to start playback. It's annoying. I have a Mac in great health running Mojave 10.14.6 and I have tried removing Pine Player, deleting all its settings and prefs and caches, and reinstalling. That has not fixed the issue. Show more

    Great, but buggy!
If they could make this project open source, it can be the best mac music player ever!

    Just what I want, but...
The program works well for me, but I encountered some issues. 1: Downloaded via Mac App Store, but Mojave flagged the app as quarantined, as well as any playlist files created by it (fixed with xattr command). 2: Although it will output a .m3u playlist, the import open dialog only accepts .ppa files, which means I can't use any of the files I created previously. Perfect
Great app and easy to use. Please let us skin the app with textures. Thank you.

    Very good, but...
Pine does a lot of things very well but it has a tendency to stop playing audio at random points even though it continues to advance through the file. The result is a period of silence followed by an abrupt jump to later in the file. I'd really love to see this fixed in lieu of adding more features. Show more
