Does the B&W PI7 work with this app

I’ve “got the ear(s)”according to my audiologist. The Formation Wedge satisfies those ears. I placed the Wedge on my desk, behind my laptop. I select the Wedge as a ‘speaker’ to send sound out from my laptop. This way anything I play on my laptop goes to the Wedge. I also use the iPhone app and play my Tidal playlists, which streams from Tidal cloud servers straight to the Wedge (I tested this by turning off my phone once I started the playlist). Midrange frequencies are rich, bass is good and the highs are present. On some tracks the bass is powerful and I naturally don’t want to blow the Wedge up but it holds it own. I listen to a wide variety of music from Progressive rock to classical to world. All good! Show more

I have a profile set up (with connection to the formation sound bar and bass) on my iPhone 8, but when I try to install the same app onto my iPhone 13, it asks me to reconnect the two devices again and gives me an error message. Why do I have to reconnect and shouldn’t I be able to access my existing profile from iCloud? Someone please assist. Show more

We've owned B&W 600 series for almost a decade now and have been extremely happy. We recently moved into our first home and decided to expand our speaker collection. The formation series seemed like the obvious answer. It has been the source of many headaches and the recepient of many vocal explicatives. Volume control is difficult. Why is there no way of preventing the speakers from blaring by accident? Can there not be some sort of safety mechanism that make sure it always turns on at a specific volume? Determining the sound source a speaker should be using is completely missing in the UI. I'm constantly struggling to tell my soundbar to play music from my connect (turntable and Bluetooth connections). The soundbar gets the TV sound via optical just fine; it's telling it to instead play the sound from the connect source and control which input of sound the connect should be using is not always clear. The app interface has a long ways to go. There are too many layers and not enough control and on top of that my exchanged wedge speaker has stopped working after a few months and will only making this annoying tapping noise when it turned on. I want to like this product because the sound quality of these speakers is the best for wireless speakers. As fantastic as this is, the interactive experience with the app is a mess. You're not experiencing the formation lineup until you are screaming along with the music trying to figure out how to turn it down, all the while the physical speakers buttons are unresponsive and the app is spinning and you must resort to unplugging the speakers to stop the madness. I really want to give this experience a chance but I'm ready to give up. Also, the Tidal integration doesn’t mirror Tidal’s app and is missing key music playback options like “add to queue” or “play next” Spotify’s integration makes 100% more sense in the way you use spotify tell the source of sound (Spotify app) which speakers you want it to play to. So there was at One time a different app to control my Zepplin 2 but now it suddenly disappeared and my speaker is deemed useless apparently? I can’t even contact anyone and no one can give me any information. They archive the older models and people can’t use them so they need to buy new ones is that the goal? For having such amazing products it’s really unfortunate that your apps and your control software are so poorly created and managed and there’s no way to contact anyone about these problems. So I buy this expensive product, use it for a couple of years, but now I can’t continue to it unless I download this new app that REQUIRES your email address. Well, this is the ultimate way to lose customers. It is a premium product, so the people who buy it are not expecting Facebook type tricks. Last B&O product I will ever buy. Hi, I love your products for our home. Since downloading your updated app I’m having trouble finding where I control each piece for each room through my iPhone and Apple Music app. Particularly the formation bar. Other pieces I can manually change but the formation bar is not the same. We have 6 rooms with equipment. Some multiple pieces. Thank you for your help. Show more

Bowers & Wilkins had a functional app to set up and manage my formation speaker but I found it was recently replaced and I’m now required to use this Music app instead. I don’t need another streaming service, I just want to manage my device. After downloading this app, I was required to create an account (which is not a feature imho) and verify my email before I can do anything. Dear Bowers & Wilkins, I am still waiting for your verification message. Meanwhile, I have an expensive speaker that I can’t use. Show more

Cannot properly save password. Loses connection to cloud and cannot even sign in. Wow great to purchase a 1500 speaker and have an app that doesn’t even work. Guess I’ll be returning it! Show more

Great app, but my formation audio doesn't switch from Roon to optical in when I pause Roon and turn on sound from optical in. Same goes for AirPlay to optical in. Auto detect input is turned on. (Changed review as developer helped me sort the other problem out) Show more

Just purchased the Formation Flex; Very difficult to set up, Sound is not what I would expect from a B&W product, and very limited on what you can play via their app. Show more

Cannot Sign up after trying for two days

Nothing stands out with this speaker and app. I’ve been using them now for a few days. It was not easy to setup with the app. After multiple failures, I found the reset button. I was able to setup the formation wedge from there. After moving the speaker around my condo and adjusting the bass & treble, I am able to get it to sound ok. Nothing remarkable like you would expect from B&W. A very localized sound. Show more

We never know if it will connect. Some times it does and sometimes no matter what you do working on all aspects of connection simply will not work. We have no idea why they insist on forcing someone to use such a shoddy app instead of the way it was before. Just terrible. We own 3 B&W home systems and this simple is not the quality we expect from this company. Show more

Regretting buying it. Poorly designed. Takes you ages back rather than forward. Never thought it will turn out so poor. Why do you guys make people spend thousands of dollars on products that are not ready to be launched. Show more

I’m sure this app is great if you use Deezer or Tidal. But like most of the world I use Spotify and Pandora. If you want a focus on high def audio why not at least add Amazon Music support? Show more

Wish I could access Sirius or Spotify. Dash is so far behind times…

I Love my formation Duos however, the app needs some work. B&W needs to finish the Music app and combine it with the control app ASAP. The Formation speakers are class speakers and all they needs is a complete app. Show more
