Just read another critic who pinpointed the app’s frequent loss of broadcast sound. Having similar issues. Also MPR has many styles of classical musics, like lullaby and Peaceful. Was connected to Peaceful last night but it’s absent now. MPR has another green and white symbol but it’s not available via Apple store. Show more

MPR is awesome. I love it. But this app is horrendous. If I leave it open, it drains your battery like crazy

Their updated app took a set backwards. Doesn’t fit my se screen properly and a lot more scrolling to see what articles are available.

Commercials every two minutes. Pretty ironic, considering.

I’m an MPR member and listen daily. I’ve found the app to be unstable, ceasing the stream frequently for no apparent reason requiring unloading and restart the app to resume the stream. This has happen as many as 3 times in 15 minutes. I’ve contacted MPR receiving a response with little or no helpful information other an acknowledgment that the issue exists, but no indication it will be addressed. I use the MPR app in our home using an iPhone 5S running iOS 12.5.4 which is the up to date version. This phone is only used to stream various content via WiFi and is not connect to a cellular network and does not have a SIM card installed. The WiFi is stable with as much as 400 Mbs download speed. I do not have similar issues with other streaming apps used with this phone including the Colorado PBS app. Considering my review and numerous other negative reviews about this app, it time MPR takes the issue seriously and update the app. I hope a fix is in place before it’s time to renew my MPR membership. There’s no longer a button to set for it to shut off when I listen to the radio to fall asleep. Bummer. As far as the ads/intro, I take it off of WiFi if I get annoyed with the repeated interruptions and that seems to solve the issue. But I need the sleep button back. Please and thank you. Show more

Used to be great but within the last 2 yrs has gotten very buggy. Get hit with ad after ad after ad and then hear about a min of content, then ad ad ad. Pretty annoying. I noticed when cutting the grass, if I move off the WiFi network, I get hit with an ad and if I move back on, get hit again. When just out of range but close enough to get back on WiFi, can easily be hit with 5-6 ads with one pass on my grass. Pretty annoying that they deem a network change is enough to merit a new session and as a result, an ad. Bottom swipe and stop is in the worst place too. Often times I stop the app from playing when my screen is locked yet it continues to play but shows stopped. Show more

Great content, and a great selection, but something with the player seems to error out every few minutes and I forced to restart the stream. As others have mentioned, this seems to happen whenever it’s time to serve an ad. I hope MPR can get some devs to check this out as it could very well be a simple code fix for a gnarly bug that really degrades the listening experience. Show more

I rely on MPR for important information and am so thankful for their reporting but the ads popping into the middle of stories has become unbearable. As a sustaining member for years is there any way for an ad free or reduced ad version? Show more

I agree too much trouble.

Enduring commercial at beginning is one thing, but continuous breaking by commercials are making this not usable. Stories are interrupted too often! Please, get back to the non commercial PUBLIC RADIO! Show more

This listening app needs a way better UI. Why is the play button all the way in the bottom like that? Please fix it

They get a broadcast out when things aren't melting down in their offices. They seem plagued by incompetent senior management. It's what sometimes one sees when a management team becomes inbred from just hiring their buddies into senior positions. They could benefit from a near clean sweep of top management, hiring a combination of competent individuals from the outside and a promotion from within from a pool of competent radio professionals. MPR was once highly regarded; now mediocre at best. Show more

I’m an MPR member and have addressed this with MPR directly—if you are streaming and move between WiFi networks or are momentarily dropped, you have to listen to one to three “sponsorship” (commercial) spots before you get to listen again. A weather alert that could impact your life might be in mid statement not to mention an important news story and you will be cut off. A great solution would be just to insert sponsorships between stories and programs ... oh wait... that happens too. Anyway, an annoying and potentially dangerous practice. Note this is not about content just about delivery. Still very problematic. Show more

Latest app still has a defect the requires user to re-install it to recover. If your phone auto-connects to a WiFi network but lacks credentials, app fails and the screen jumps to a default screen in an unrecoverable manner. Add some type of re-start to the App. Show more

Been listening to MPR since ‘81. Luv the variety & quality of all its platforms. Excellent research & Announcers ! ! Met the former Pres of Maryland Public Radio. He said MPR IS the Best public radio network & TV in the US. Show more

All in all, MPR is a great app, but why did you take the sleep feature away ?? For years, I’ve set the timer for 30 minutes and then listened as I fell asleep. But now, it won’t turn off by itself anymore and I don’t want it playing all night, so I don’t use the app any lager ☹️ Show more

Find the app pretty easy to use and enjoy all my time using the app that being said i use the app for the classical radio station not a huge fan of any other radio station although i do not listen to alot of radio Show more

Not nearly as pleasant to use. I especially miss the sleep timer. Why remove such a great feature?
