    Great but pricey
Absolutely the best way to learn anything bluegrass on any instrument, the only issue is how much is locked behind a $15 a month subscription.

    Learning Banjo
I love the way you can slow the music up or make it easier or harder. This has been extremely helpful for me to learn with and it is fun!!

    I’ve been looking for this!
As a newbie banjo player, I’ve been looking for an app where I could practice and go at my own pace! This is better than I could’ve imagined! I love how you can slow the tempo and make it easier and harder, based on your progress. I love how it shows the tabs. Lessons are bite sized, so progress feels easy! Thank you for making this! I recommend it to everyone! Show more

    Love Tune Fox!
I had to take a couple of months off from banjo lessons when a family member was injured. Once I found Tune Fox, I was able to pick up where I left off. I’ll definitely resume lessons this month, but am still going to use this stellar app to improve my skills. I’ve had a couple of minor issues when on iPad, but it’s been mostly smooth sailing. I use Bluetooth headphones with one ear on and the other off, so I can hear my mistakes (or lack of em!) I love that you can change app settings to help you improve playing by ear, playing faster, and slowly adding challenges. CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH TUNE FOX! Well worth the reasonable price. Show more

    Wonderful App & Great Interface
I’ve used a ton of different methods to learn songs but Tunefox is one of the most streamlined and fun. It’s easy to work and has a lot of good tunes built in. Can’t recommend it enough. Show more

    Limited access
I think this app is GREAT for early learners. The ONLY thing is that you only get like 4-5 songs if you don’t pay like $19 a month, which is insane for a simple banjo app. Like I said, besides that^ the app is great! I would actually strongly recommend. Show more

    You have to be kidding.
I literally just wanted a tuning app for bass and guitar. I’m not going to register for an account to do that. If you’re looking for an easy, basic tuner, look elsewhere. Show more

    This app rocks!!!
Love it. It’s exactly what I needed to get me going again on the Banjo. Very easy to follow along with the tabs. Love all the bells and whistles.

    Shucks
This sounds really cool! But I haven’t used it yet..and I probably never will. You need to pay for a subscription which is totally fine I’m sure it’s worth it but I personally can’t pay so bye-bye Tunefox. Also please don’t get me wrong, a company should do what they need to do to pay their employees and feed themselves so please Please don’t spite them for making it subscription only I think it’s better than barely being able to do anything because you don’t have a membership. So yeah I’m not at all mad more like “oh well” anywho from what the other comments say it’s a great app so if you can are willing to you should. Show more

Excellent when you already know the basics!
Tldr, despite my first paragraph, Tunefox is excellent if you have foundations from elsewhere. I got Tunefox a while back when I began banjo with virtually no music foundation. It was not the most helpful of foundational lessons. So many things I didn’t understand that the lessons lack (learning is a personal thing, so I won’t take a star for that - it may be excellent for others), so it didn’t work well for me then. A bit later after going through lessons from different internet instructors and really getting almost all of the fundamentals down, I had a problem with figuring out tempo and getting my songs to sound like music rather than methodical picking. It’s something that recorded non-personalized lessons will lack, and I found it hard as heck to learn just by recordings and blogs. THIS is where Tunefox is really shining for me. Cripple Creek is such an identifiable and “easy” melody to play in the beginner banjo realm, but beyond that I had a tough time getting melody in songs like Old Joe Clark and the other basics. In just 30 minutes (it that) in Tunefox, I was finally able to get my tempo fixed up and the melody is finally really shining, and now it’s such a fun song to play. I’d assume it’s still no replacement for a good old fashioned human instructor, but it’s the best for the things recorded lessons or static tablature can’t teach that I’ve experienced. It’s a very simple app to navigate and extremely clean. There’s a bunch of settings and ways to use it to just practice individual measures, progressively speed up, hide notations (to help with memorization), different versions, and other good tools for practicing what you know. Not an App
it’s not an App, it’s a subscription service, and an expensive one, at that. Total BS listing in the App store

    Creating an account is required?
Can’t even try it without creating an account? No thanks.

    Love Tunefox
I subscribed for a few months for my family iPad. The accessibility wasn’t worth it. I’ll come back whenif you ever go android. I despise apple, iTunes, etc. You guys are the only interest I have in it. I’m sure I’m not alone. Hope y’all expand. Awesome app for sure. Peace Show more

Want to make your learning music easier?
What a great app!!! It is great for all skill levels. It has become the tool I most often use learning Mandolin. I highly recommend Tunefox.

    Happy with new approach
I appreciate the ability to slow the tablature playback. A couple of lessons show up blank for scales on my iPad is my only issue. It’s great to have something new to work on. Show more

    regarding recent updates
Hard to hear the metronome and the back music is a bit too loud and just tends to drown out what was once a decent metronome. I have been contacted promptly by the CEO of Tunefox and they’ve been awesome about helping explain and correct my issues. What I love about it is the ability to play along with the Tabs in both the Lessons, riffs and songs, it really helps to hear and play along. Since I am just starting out I loved too that I could click the link to the chord and find the shape WITHIN the song While Playing it! Great features, I also love the video lessons and the teacher does a Wonderful job on every single video explaining! I really can’t say enough good Show more
