    It's ok...
Overall ok when u get used to controlling the notes but I can't figure out how to delete unwanted recordings and unwanted grids :/ so this app will probably end up taking more and more space... Show more

    Awesome!
Needs to allow zooming. Otherwise it's good :-) - Please allow better touch/selecting - longer than 8 patterns is required. 16 or 24 would be best. This way full feature songs are made - more banks - banks be labled by genre. - more banks - more banks - more banks :-) Thanks guys. I love this app Show more

    Lots of potential, but
On my phone, it's very difficult to add or remove the notes. Too frustrating to be useful.

    simple, easy, fun
i'm no professional but love music. i've been planning to buy Yamaha's Tenori-on for a while now but am settling down with this one for now. Can't wait till iPad comes out and play this on a bigger screen! Show more

    So Close
This really is a 3 star app, but I'll give 4 for a nice effort. You can make some good jams, and maybe a ring tone or two... but the tone bank is bankrupt. Really need to add an acustic guitar, a few more drum kits, and maybe a bass... moral of the story, all of the beats end up sounding similar because you have to use the same 4 or 5 tone banks. Difficult
I don't use this app anymore. It's rather diffucult to select the individual tiles becuase they are so small. More often than not, I usually end up tapping the wrong tile and having to delete it, then tap yet another wrong tile in the process. This either needs a zoom feature or multiple panels of bigger tiles. I like the save feature and the numerous tones from which to choose, but this app is simply no fun to use because it's frustrating to control. Show more

    Promising, but
The demos looked great, but it's extremely difficult to accurately use the touchscreen to make your notes. Often repeated presses bring nothing up, or place the note inaccurately. This on new 3rd gen ipod. If this can be fixed, I think this app would be a lot of fun. Show more

This app is amazing. One of my favorites!

One of the best iPod music apps!
*** TIP *** Turn on "Note placing assistance" in the prefs to make selecting notes easier. It makes a HUGE difference (should be on by default). Great deal on a great sequencer. You can share songs and import new sounds from within the program. Some nice additions would be: - Some control over the samples (decay, volume, etc..) - More than 8 patterns - More FX types! Keep up the good work! :-) Show more

i want to like this app
This app is o.k. There's a nice feature that shows "ghost impressions" of all the notes being played. So often with these synth composing programs, you hear what you've programed, but you have to be on the right screen to see where it's coming from. Editing notes is difficult. How you physically place the notes on the "dots" is way too small. I spend more time adding and deleting wrong notes just because the touch size is so tiny. Very frustrating, I would like this app a lot more if i could just tap the note i want without having to tap it 8 more times to delete and re-enter all the mis-taps. You need miniature fingers to program this synth. 2nd, the tone. The instruments sound alright. Pretty electronic. But there really aren't very many choices. The layers are confusing. It keeps switching between layers when editing and playing, and i still don't know why? While editing layer one, I'll swipe up to a different instrument (a feature i like a lot), but somehow the layer will change to layer two? isequence, isyn, and/or electron are still my top three synth composing programs. Great Fun
This is a cool easy to understand music app. The support is awesome and unlike many of the claims to quickly update features, these guys actually do it. They are committed to the product and look to tweak it so that its a better product for us. Please keep the new sound banks coming. Show more

There goes melodica, pakel & tone whatever
Best in class. Bar none. By far. Every way: color graphics sound complexity ease of use

    love the new release, except...
The interface is not as receptive to touch. Please make it like the older version. I have to tap 3 or 4 times to get a note, and then it's often to the right of where I tapped. The old version was perfect. LOVE the new recording ability. Show more

    Nice app!
Really fun music toy but needs a midi export feature.
  • Deseao, 17.08.2009
    Very very fun!
Beats out melodica any day of the week.

    Best toneboard app
Update to my last review: I figured out how to adjust layer volumes... Duh. The longer I play with this the more brilliant I realize it is... So so so so so much better than any other Tenori-on app out there- this should be getting so much more attention from the App store than Melodica, Toneboard, Toneapp... There's just really no comparison, this one has so many more features, it's like trying to compare a bicycle to a Ferrari. I can't wait for the update! More sounds, mp3 and/ or wav export, and time sig control will make this app beyond fantastic! Show more

    Really Good!
This is the best Tone Matrix out there! I'll buy more Sound Banks if you want to make them available... but the promised updated sounds are a good start. I'd love sound attack and decay controls, and of course a MIDI export (one layer per MIDI channel?) function. It's one of my favorite music apps... you should port it to the big MIDI apps on the Mac as a VSTi / AU. Thanks Show more
