    WCRB app
Have to reboot phone after playing and stopping the app. Crashes when I try to play a channel later after having stopped a previous listening session. A reboot does not always work either. Good aspirations as an app but not there yet. Show more

    Very frustrating
Sometimes this app works great and other times well really most times it doesn’t. It just keeps buffering and buffering and buffering and if my phone rings and I get a phone call and I try and go back to it it will not play at all. I think I need to find another classical station if this continues. Show more

    Data Hog/Battery Drain
This app is a data hog and a significant drain on the battery. Used the app in my SUV; listened to the Bach stream. Used 10gb in five days, battery wouldn’t stay charged. Drained in less than 12 hours. Removed the app and data usage and battery life are back to normal. Show more

    Doesn’t work half the time
This app is very frustrating. At least 50% of the time it doesn’t list what is currently playing. When I listen to CRB I’m often in my car and am not near WiFi to find out what’s playing I was hoping this app would provide that information. Often it doesn’t. Nor does my car radio show what’s playing. So I guess whoever is at the station has forgotten to input the information. Show more

Needs an update: landscape and split screen
The app does what it is supposed to do, namely, stream WCRB. But it doesn’t do it in a very beautiful way. Please update on the iPad so that it can go in landscape mode and support multitasking split screen! Is it difficult to enable that? That’s a genuine question, is it difficult, developers? Show more

Love CRB Hate The Totally Unreliable App
The programming of CRB is superb BUT its iOS app is an unmitigated disaster; when and if working, it never plays the CRB main broadcast stream, only defaults to Bach, Early Music or Boston Symphony sub streams. When one attempts to change the stream, this is displayed (and nothing else ends up working): ALERT THERE WAS A PROBLEM DOWNLOADING THE AUDIO For such an important classical, NPR, PBS affiliate, it makes one wonder if anyone is paying attention to details. I’ve reached out to the developer, jācapps, to the WBRC and WGBH’s station’s engineering and management and received absolutely no response. Show more

    Unstable and unreliable
This app should be a slam dunk, with a simple interface and one simple job to do. Yet, almost every time I use it it takes multiple attempts and forced close outs to be able get the stream to start. The result for me? Deleting the app and playing the stream from TuneIn. It’s a shame so little attention and investment has been paid to an app with such a simple purpose. Show more

    Great way to listen
I enjoy this app a lot. Great way to enjoy WCRB when not in broadcasting range. My only issue is that it doesn’t switch the display from vertical to landscape view on the iPad. I also wish there were an AppleTV version but that is a request not a complaint. Thank you! Show more

Buffering makes it hard to listen
The radio program is one of my favorites, however the app’s buffering makes it very hard to listen. It always buffers in HD, and if your internet is not strong enough it will pause for 5+ seconds to buffer a little bit of the song, then pause again. Makes for a jolting experience when you can’t even get through 1 song without long, awkward pauses all the way through. Buffering technology is fairly standard and should be implemented- if the internet connection isn’t strong enough, then a lower quality audio should be streamed so that the music isn’t interrupted. Check out how YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify do it. Show more

    Where’s the info??
This new version is awful. One may stream or not stream. Where is the information about what is being played? What an error to take that away. We listen on our radio, used the app to identify pieces. This is of no use. We are sad. Show more

    No sleep timer
I like to listen to apps at night when going to bed. Needs a sleep timer feature to shut itself off. Huge oversight by the developer. Because of this I’m giving the two stars. Show more

    The sound of sanity
In a world gone mad with virus fever. A simple, yet functional app.

    Awesome!!!
The app works great, as you would expect, but the “Now Playing” feature is phenomenal! If a piece interests you, you can see immediately what it is and can take a screenshot for reference. It’s great. Thank you! Show more

    Timer Would Be Nice
I like listening as I go to sleep - but then it wakes me up in the middle of the night. An on/off ⏰ would be nice. Set it for 45 minutes or an hour - so that it turns itself off. A morning wake-up would also be nice. (Neither function is terribly complicated). Show more

    Well made app
The WCRB app has been my go to classical music app for years. It is reliable, so I can always count on it to work when I’m studying or relaxing. The app is lightweight and responsive, lacking the ads and bloat of so many other mobile apps. This app has helped me through many nights of focusing. Thanks WCRB! Show more

The best classical programming, app unreliable...
WCRB is hands-down the best classical music programming you'll find. This app, however, tends to drop out frequently to buffer or sometimes just stops. Rarely get through one musical piece without interruption or stoppages. I've taken to using the webpage instead... which seems to be a more stable stream as well as having access to streams of the station's additional content. Show more

    AirPod problem
Great app, great music. Just reporting I can’t change AirPod volume because Siri thinks nothing is playing. Love your station!

    Needs more reliable background information
I use this app even when listening over the air, to help identify the music I am hearing. As a result, I have learned more about some favorites, and have been able to look up more background information on Wikipedia and elsewhere. Unfortunately, the information is delayed or not even presented for some pieces, especially at certain times during the day or night. It is frustrating when the only info is “so-and-so’s overnight classical” or something unhelpful. This may not be a defect in the app as such, but the overall service is dependent on somebody supplying the proper supporting information. Show more

    What a great app!
