I've been waiting for this app for 3 years. Not perfect, but it doesn't waste any time trying to win awards, just on playing music.

I've had this app for several years. I always enjoy it for it's reliability to listen to Classical music whenever I want. I've paid money for others that ended up being no good with an apple update ... This one is FREE & allows for enjoyable music. Please keep up the good work guys! Show more

Update on previous comments based on new release mid-May 2016: The addition of info on what is playing is a welcome enhancement. Unfortunately it does not seem to fix the issue I noted - playing using my iPhone on a 50/50 wi-if connection the app periodically drops the connection and does not reconnect until I go into the app. The only workaround has been and still is to disconnect from wi-go and go with the cellphone LTE connection. -------------------- Yes, needs playlists. We want to know at least as much as you can get on the web site. But more important it keeps dropping out. We are on a 50/50 FiOS connection but get more reliable service by turning off that and using the cell phone LTE connection. Something is wrong with the way it connects to wifi and recovers from problems it would seem. Show more

I downloaded this to my new phone and it is constantly connecting and never connects ?. Current play list would be nice, too.

N O P L A L I S T for the day or hour or right now ?!? get a playlist for 5 Stars … ! now you get 3 stars … ! AND … some of your disk jockeys are much too sloppy, talk much too fast after a music piece has reached its end, and at that it's talk in the wrong sequence of information, more often than not! Yes it is so ! P L E A S E in the right order: 1.) pause 5+ seconds,don't talk, "specifically NO wcrb" so we realize: you will tell us details about the music that just ended, reasonable request?! of course it is, think about it ! 2.) so after 5+ you tell us slowly: "you just heard" or "we just played for you" or "wasn't that wonderful" or… 3.) pause for 5 to 8+ seconds (so we can concentrate on what you will tell us - slowly, don't ever machine-gun-like rattle-speak, please, most likely we might be driving ! ! 4.) then only you tell us- slowly "this was:" LUDWIG VAN Beethoven or AMADEUS Mozart, RICHARD Wagner, EDVARD Grieg JOHANN SEBASTIAN Bach (there are more than one, isn't it ?) CHRISTOPH WILLIBALD Gluck FRANZ Liszt do you get it(?): Grieg, Bach, Gluck, Liszt all are one-sybille names, they get drowned before we know who it was ! ! JOHANN Strauss (father, son - ?!) RICHARD Strauss notice 3 of them,which one ?! do you get it?): tell us the full name,educate us at the same time and we will come back, even if you harangue us with WCRB on end, yet please don't, it's TRULY enjoying, once in a while, certainly OK ! 5.) OK now we know the Composer's name, great. Now tell us his Opus, say Third Symphony – not yet enough, what about EROIKA and Es-Dur would be a nice touch – you'll please Ludwig too, wouldn't you think so. In 2 to 4 short sentences tell us what's special about the OPUS 6.) Now: for instance: The Concertgebouw Amsterdam Berlin Philharmonie Conductor: Herbert von Karajan Soloist: If any: Please specific, educational 7.) Now: "shortly we will play …" Baroque Music by ANTONIO Vivaldi just a few words to hold the listeners attention …OK? OK! Then: A bit of advertising, Announcements, say BSO or Evening Special, Programs, Tangle Wood, ?weather? A couple+ WCRBs don't overwhelm us with WCRBs ! Just perfect 8.) Now: tell us what next you will play Follow Guidelines 1.) to 6.) above and WCRB will be OK! 9.) NO-NOs never to do, such as single movements, or advertising in between, by now you know what else you shouldn't do, or else you'd be loosing listeners & donors during your next $$$-drive. I often want to see the playlist to find out what was playing or will be playing during a day. This app will give you news and weather, but not what's on for either wcrb or wgbh. Got this because the website doesn't work properly on an iPhone. Disappointing. Show more

Yes agreed song titles and artists would be appreciated and clock-alarm would be a nice feature

This app would be great if I had half a clue what I was listening to. Nothing worse than hearing a beautifully composed piece of music and not knowing what it is. Show more

I like the app, but the AirPlay functionality doesn't seem to work. No sound streams to my tv, just an icon.

Who could possibly have thought it was a good idea to produce a music app which doesn't tell you what's currently playing?

Have been waiting forever for this update, the app stopped functioning a long time ago and this update took just under 3 years to release! Great station, great music, and it's great that the app finally works again. Show more

What is going on at WGBH that no one can get this app operable again?

Stupid app by stupid people. They ask support and donations. Well I can't hear you good bye.

Now I wait and wait and wait and do not get connected. I can get connected to WGBH's Celtic programs using that app. I can connect to Classical New England using Safari. But this app simply does not work. I gave it one star because I had to give it something, but it isn't worth even one star. Show more

All I want for Christmas is this app to work again as well as it had been working for months and months. One morning it just stopped (on my older phone) and no longer opens on newer OS either. Please Santa, bring back Ms. Carlo to my morning! xo Show more

I live in Ohio but my daughter lives in Boston and I just liked listening to this station especially in the morning. I also lost the feed and was really upset about it. So I decided to explore. If you search for the general WGBH app you will find a low bitrate feed that does work! It is too detailed to explain here how to find it but if I could figure it out anyone can. Just an update- I am now listening to the regular version on be wgbh app and not low bit rate. Show more

Completely dead & it is not the ios. Used to be a nice shortcut to classical music. To bad they can't find the time to fix it.
