    Blown away
I stayed away from SunVox because I was certain it would be too complicated to be fun. I was wrong. It’s one of the most powerful creative tools I’ve come across. I wish I hadn’t waited so long! Show more

    absolutely amazing
This is the modern take on the classic tracker, but adds synths and effects in a powerful node editor that’s unbelievably easy to use once you wrap your mind around it. It even applies realtime effects on input (I tried connecting my guitar, and it works!) Please, buy this app so that the developer can continue his wonderful job. Show more

Great for Tracker/Chip musicians; Steep learning curve
If you're a tracker musician, get this now (note: it's more like Jeskola Buzz than FastTracker). Everyone else, learn more about SunVox before buying. SunVox is not a DAW. It is not a synthesizer. You CAN create modular-style synthesizers within it, and it does have a sequencer, and you do make music with it, but it's not remotely like GarageBand, Logic, or Cubase in any other way. It does not rely on a piano roll or recording live playing (though you can record played notes to an extent). The note and automation/controller information is entered manually into what most people would call a spreadsheet-like environment. This has pluses and minuses, but you can read about that elsewhere online. You can use simplistic "chipsound" sound generators, or combine generators and effects to produce complex routings (and compound objects for reuse) that let you do more rich synthesis. SunVox is available free on Mac OS, Windows, and Linux, and even more esoteric platforms like Palm OS (where i first used it on a Tapwave Zodiac). If you've used it on those platforms, you know what you're getting here on iOS: the same, plus some multitouch. The "Touch Theremin" is especially useful on iOS. It makes SunVox an expressive modular synthesis performance instrument. I'm personally not overly fond of the GUI, but it's effective for what this software provides. Check out some YouTube videos before buying, if you're not familiar with Trackers, because this app doesn't deserve low ratings from people who don't know what they're getting into. Show more

Great DAW for iOS, maybe the best I've found for the cost
Great tracker DAW with a wide range of features that takes a bit to learn, (or a lot, I still don't know how to do a lot of things in this app) but it's still great even if you're just starting out it's easy to make loops. Really great interface, even if you don't use trackers (I use ableton and find this easier to use than a lot of iOS apps that are more like ableton's arrangement view) and really versatile array of parameters and options. Once you've learned the basics you could definitely create some incredibly complex stuff that easily could rival a lot of non mobile DAWs. For pure synthesis, this is great, if you're looking for sampling and editing samples maybe look elsewhere (although that could be a function I just don't know of yet). Highly recommended if you want an app with versatile synthesis editing whether it's drums, leads, pads, bass etc, you can make some really incredible sounds and the routing options and interface in general make for some great tones. Really fun and powerful app for the cost. Show more

    Incredible, simply put....
Take your time with this app and you'll be richly rewarded. Still making my way through it (and, it might take more time than your typical app), however, this has the potential to be more than a minor game changer. Simply put, I'm loving this... Show more
