Great content, as can be expected… But the Home button doesn’t refresh the home page or take you back to the top, like the majority of news apps. The app also doesn’t appear to have night mode, which is more energy efficient… and much preferred by my sensitive eyes. Show more

1) No feedback link in app 2) Clicking on a story takes you to a random story and not the one you click one. 3) Sometimes the stories aren’t available but the tile is still up. Months go by and app still works poorly. Show more

I don’t understand why that cannot fix this app. The app closes multiple times while using it. There are many times I have been listening. To story that was important to me. And the app closed three times. I guess I will delete this. And find another app that works like it should. Show more

If you have to pause the live radio streaming or if another app interrupts the audio you have to listen to all the ads all over again. It’s really annoying. My slow Wi-Fi kept interrupting the stream when I was listening to KUOW and every time I would get it back the same long ads would play all over again. Show more

I have been listening to and contributing to NPR for a long time but I’m out of here. Totally left slanted biased news. No more.

NPR is my favorite source of news but frankly that’s not saying much these days. The reporting is great especially the in depth coverage like on xinjiang but all that is presented with unnecessary and often stock thumbnail and header images that provide no additional info and take up screen space and bandwidth or in the worst case could be misleading. I’d even prefer that space be used for ads. After all I support not as a public service. And the clickbait headlines come off as juvenile. “They were expecting this. And then this happened.” It’s like a dummies version of the hero’s journey. I realize this is par for the course but again, low bar. Show more

I use this app all the time because I like its functionality, but it’s annoyingly unstable. It routinely drops or restarts the live stream, always when I’m particularly interested in a story. (How does it know?) But my biggest complaint is the unresponsive station selection link. I tap, I tap longer, I tap more slowly, I tap over and over, I ask other people to tap—the station almost never plays on the first try—or the second or the third. This has been a problem over different phones and over years. I check for app updates, but it seems that NPR doesn’t do them. I suspect they’re focused on NPR One, which doesn’t meet my needs in the way this app does. Show more

When I try to share and article on my iPad the app thinks for a few seconds and then closes.

I listen to NPR every day, and I also donate to the station. The fact that this app restarts the “WBEZ is sponsored…” ad every two seconds if it accidentally connects to my AirPods, or if my alarm goes off, or for no reason makes it nearly impossible to enjoy this app. Show more

Most of the time I cannot listen to any radio stations.

I think the NPR app could be great! I had an npr app that was orange a few years ago. It would show the station’s itinerary for the day with the times. I found that SO helpful! This new one doesn’t even show the name of what it is playing - only the station name. I moved to the PNW a few years ago, and I greatly dislike the npr stations up here. I like to listen to the ones back home - KGOU and KERA. But, I never know which show is playing until I start listening - the time change always throws me off. Is there a way to have a listing of what’s coming - like on a tv guide kind of thing (Like where it highlights where it is or moves the bar so you can see what is playing at that exact time)? I would think NPR would have the resources to make this a great app. Could you please put a team on it to make it more user-friendly like many other “entertainment” type apps. Thank you!! Show more

This app will kill your battery. I’ve listened to the app today for a total of ~30 minutes (3 of which were on screen) and it has drained a whopping 75% of an iPhone 14 Pro’s battery. Abysmal. Why should I have to remember to kill the app in the background even when not listening. Seriously, use another app. Show more

I enjoy reading/accessing the contents of NPR via the app. My biggest beef is not being able to share any articles via my iPad. As soon as I click on the share icon, the application crashes and closes. Show more

As a long time in PR listener I was looking forward to using this app, and I used it for several years. However, it has gotten so clunky and non-functional that I finally deleted it. It is easier to listen to live radio on my local stations website. On the app the on demand function no longer works, and trying to pull up the stations live feed is only successful less than 20% of the time. Needs a serious update before I try it again Show more

It is mind boggling after numerous complaints that NPR cannot direct resources to fixing the share button on the app. Despite what they respond to in other complaints every time I press the share button the app closes and returns me to the home screen. The only way I can actually share a story is to search for it in the web browser and share it from there. Please fix this crippled app. Show more

Please add a dark mode for the app, it’s the only problem I have. I don’t like opening it in a dark room and being blinded by all the white. Great for listening to news that doesn’t have some douche yelling at you. Show more

Nothing seems to work. I have the old app on my iPad and it does everything I need. I don’t understand why this is so different. Worthless. I am forced to rely on this in the car as the local stations do not come through without extreme amounts of static. Show more
