All of the ads are suddenly for sex toys and NSFW content. The normal ads are bad enough, but this makes it inappropriate to read the news in any public setting. Show more

As a tax funded program I am disappointed that they are obsessed with victim culture and only showing one side of the news. They claim to be objective, but only have left wing viewpoints and commentators. Show more

Plays ads before playing the station. Violates federal law for non-commercial stations.

I have been using this app for about 8 years, and one thing is very consistent- the app randomly stops playing on a regular basis. Sometimes you’re sitting in the same room as your wifi modem, and the app needs to buffer. Other apps are working great, but this app stops to buffer then gives up buffering and just stops playing. Why, for years, can this not be fixed? Show more

every few weeks the app seems to break. A link to various programs greys out.Reinstalling the program fixes it. This is an improvement over previous bugs, Which cause the program to stop streaming when the phone turned off. Show more

You have to listen to local station ads every time you change the signal source. It’s very annoying. When I’m walking the dog, and pass from my home wifi coverage to telecom cell coverage, the app forces me to listen to the local sponsorship ad again. When I’m at the train station, and pull out my airpod briefly to listen to a station announcement, I have to listen to the local sponsorship ad again when I return my airpod to my ear. Show more

NPR works for a while and then it wont update on my iphone unless i delete it and reinstall it. You have GOT to fix this!!!

I’m a huge fan of PBS and NPR but there are better ways to listen to NPR than this ap. It stops… It simply stops inadvertently, usually, of course, in the middle of something interesting. And while this may not be a function specific to this ap, although it may, commercial sponsorship interruptions are also frustrating. Right in the middle of a segment, even in the middle of a sentence, a commercial is inserted! I’m serious! And when we first check in, we’re hit with 1, 2, even 3 commercials, even if we’ve left, however involuntarily (see above), and re-join. This might all be less noticeable, less objectionable were it not for the contrast of other npr aps, like RadioIQ, to which I also listen. Yes, it just happened again, prodding this rant, long in the making. Show more
