    Bait and switch requested refund
Are you seriously asking people to pay 10 bucks for access to a portal for other apps costing 100s of dollars? The app never clearly states what are you actually getting. In this age of apps $10 needs to pay for a hell of a lot more than this! Show more

Owned a lot of Test Gear over the years
110% supportive of AudioTools. I am finally retired, and one of the only test setups I still own is AudioTools. The other is SysTune from AFMG, which is for working with live sound and systems commissioning. I believe my first test meter was a 10-Band from Gold-Line, or maybe Ivie (actually it really sort of was using a Sinclair Scientific Calculator with built-in simple BASIC to work with the Prohs Cluster Computer). I went thru all of the main Ivie products, products from Neutrik and Klark-Teknik (and software from Altec, E-V, EAW, Bose, etc.), The TEF analyzers, beginning with the TEF12 (gosh it was a heavy sucker) up to the TEF20, EASE (but not EASERA), EASE SysTune, the Terrasonde units(which ended up and then died at Sencore - my last was the Sencore 495), and finally the whole AudioTools Suite (never go out unprepared). I’d have used AudioTools and SysTune from Day One if they had been available back then. AudioTools has been easy to use, support has been fast to respond (every one of those products above needed support as well), and quick to bring new tools to market. I was never an Apple fan, and cringed when I bought an iPad, but it is an easy fit with the AT product. It’s just those continual Apple Updates that always break something, somewhere. If I had all my wishes come true, I’d like to have seen Andrew come up with Android and PC versions, but I am fully aware of why this would be an ongoing nightmare and enormously unprofitable or wildly expensive. The AudioTools Suite would be right there in the top systems or software I’d recommend, that you could carry light, and use easily and with confidence. DO read the manual and all of the relevant HELP files as you learn to use the product. Sometimes you need to learn the science first, before you can understand the measurements. Show more

Fantastic, Best App I’ve Ever Seen
This is a solid reference tool. It has incredible features for acoustic analysis. I frequently use the SPL meter to quickly check levels; it’s far more likely I have my phone on me than a dedicated device. I have used the signal generators for testing speakers and the acoustic response of my studio. There’s everything you’ll want here (I don’t quite know what half the things do, but this app does it!). The only thing that will make this better is an omni reference mic since the built-in microphone has limitations, but as a ballpark quick reference (which is what I usually need), this is amazing. I recommend this constantly. The price is unbeatable. Considering buying one of each of the tools it has would rack up quite a bill, this app has everything and it’s all on your phone. Can’t say enough good things. Show more

    Has minor flaw
The app doesn’t open properly on an iPad in portrait orientation when initially launched. Developer believes this is caused by bug introduced in iOS 13. If you open app in landscape, no problem. Or, after opening in portrait, swipe in from left edge to pull in the Audio Tools menu bar, then it works ok. Show more

    Great Set Of Tools
Been using this app for a few years now. I,ve checked it against SmaartLive, and it is pretty accurate.

    Overpriced
Everything useful is extra and this is already high for an app. Very very disappointed with what u get relative to other apps for the price

Swiss Army Knife - best app of all time
I’ve used this app at countless festival, arenas, and studio situations to tune PAs and all different kinds of acoustic environments. This app has saved my butt so many times I can’t count. Even using just the stock features I have been given a major advantage in my daily audio trouble shooting duties. - Jon Gilbert (Mt. Joy, The Kills) Show more

    Audio tools excellent
Fantastic app, I use it all the time, Well worth the small cost, will eventually get the breakout box. The I pad has a weak microphone and even weaker speaker (noticed while using the sweep generator function) Perfect app for setting up the home stereo, surround sound, or for tweaking PA systems and showing the club owner that their juke box is louder then the band Show more

Don’t waste your money. This doesn’t work!
I have used better app than this less cost. Search before you buy!

Almost every tool you will ever need
I have used this app for setting up sound systems (pinpointing feed back quick and easy), tuning speaker cabinets, mastering Cds. You will need more than this but its another tool. Few jobs can be done with just one tool. Yes to make some things easier you will need to purchase some additional tools. Still When a mechanic buys a tool box he generally adds more tools. No doubt your ears are your most important tools that you have, but this suit of apps are definitely a huge help. With this app you get a lot for 20 bucks. The additional modules make a complete tool box. With the ability to see what you hearing. Show more

    Better than a 4 star
I am still working with the many modules I now have. If they all work as well as the ones l have tried.... this will earn a 5 star!

The absolute best audio analyzer overall in the iTunes Store!
It used to be that there were two very serious audio / acoustic analyzer iOS apps available on the iTunes Store platform, i.e., Studio Six Digitals (S6D) AudioTools and Faber Acoustical, LLC’s various iOS apps. I have purchased all of these with every single option enabled as well as the “Pro” versions of Faber Acoustical’s iOS apps too. However, approximately one year ago, Faber Acoustical has opted to go to a “subscription” type of iTunes Store model which I can and will not support. That doesn’t mean the latter’s iOS products are now bad per se, but it does mean that if you want to “own” forever your iTunes Store iOS apps purchases, and you’re serious about having a high quality audio / acoustics analyzer - - Now there only S6D’s AudioTools remaining - - It stands alone in terms of being a professional grade audio / acoustics iOS app (especially when coupled with S6D’s hardware, e.g., iAudioInterface2 and the iPrecisionMic). For those of you whom have panned S6D’s in-app purchase model for being a “bait and switch” please look around at commercial grade audio analyzers / software and stop complaining! I also own the Prism Sound dScope III audio analyzer as well as the RTX6001 audio analyzer & the Virtins MI Pro software with all add-on modules, (and a CLIO v11 FC QC analyzer, etc.). The cost of the latter audio analyzers is MUCH higher than the purchase price of the iAudioInterface2, the iPrecisioniMic and the S6D’s AudioTools plus all add-on modules combined. It can’t do everything the latter audio analyzers do, but it can do MANY of their measurements and it is FAR more portable in nature. So stop complaining about the in-app purchases and expecting to get all of S6D’s R&D for $10 with their constant fixes for whenever Apple decides to upgrade the iOS version, etc. If you’re deadly serious about having a great and portable audio / acoustics analyzer, look no further than S6D’s hardware / AudioTools combination IMO. Keep up the GREAT WORK Andrew!!! P.S. I am not affiliated in any way with S6D / Andrew Smith (owner of S6D) but I love their iOS apps and hardware products and I truly appreciate how they constantly improve their products with both new features as well as updates for whenever Apple decides to release a new iOS version too. If they were to move to a “subscription based model,” as has Faber Acoustical, LLC, I will of course change my review, but I don’t believe this will occur. Show more

Portable, professional Audio measurement and analysis tool box.
The well thought out products included in the offerings from Studio Six are extremely helpful and capable.

Very useful, well engineered and designed. Superb value.

    By far the best.
I’ve been using this suite of tools for five years. The app Always works, always does what I need and it is FAR less expensive than many other options. When I visit client sites it is so nice to grab samples and save as photos for later inclusion in reports. I do wish that there was a way — but I understand I can’t do it easily — to use a calibrated external microphone. However, at this price point that’s a big request. I highly recommend this group of apps for any user skills from beginner curiosity up to experienced audio engineers. Show more
