    Grand!
A wonderful app. It's pretty neat to see all the birthdays each day of all the composers! Very wonderful!

    Excellent
Overall, a great app. It's fun to see which composer's birthday it is every day.

    Good for What I Need
I really just wanted something to give me a random composer to listen to every day. This app helps me work on learning composers' various works.

    Good, but not great.
I was looking for something to use in my classroom so the students will be ready for music. While the little blurbs are great I'm beginning to agree with other reviewers. There should definitely be an option to see upcoming composers. Death dates would also be great as well as a photo of what the composer looks like (especially for those less popular). Show more

    Crashes!!
I'm pretty sure I would love this app if I could even open it!! It'll be helpful for me since I'm taking music history classes. Please fix the crashes!!

    Great App!
I always look forward to pulling up the new composer at midnight! This is a great way to remind oneself of composers previously studied, as well as to learn about some rarely or never discussed in history classes. A search feature would be nice, as well as a swipe feature. Subjectivity often dilutes what should strictly be informative ("most influential"; "beautiful operas"; "most well-known"). These are merely opinions. Odd use of grammar on occasion, as well. Show more

    Neat!
I would like to be able to see past entries in an archived section as well. I love the concept, though! Well-done! Great for anyone who wants to learn more about music and composers but doesn't have a lot of time! Show more

    Good Resource
This is a great source for learning about the music of both the famous and not so famous composers. The application would be much more informative if the user could go back and forth by date and be able to at least "look up a composer" Show more

A Major Flaw, and Several Improvements
Wittenberg University's Composer of the Day, is a clean, relatively well designed utility (it could use a swipe feature, an archive, and "year of death" dates) that gives a one sentence blurb of 365 composers, one for each day of the year, complete with birth year. It comes complete with a link to Apple's iTunes store that directs to the featured composer's music. The supervising developer of this app. is Prof. Daniel Kazez of Wittenberg University. The apps' major flaw is its' incorrect grammar and poor use of English. For example: "America Stephen Foster...was born on *this* 4th of July in 1826". For example "this" should be "the". I wouldn't mention this but for the fact that the application is riddled with these kind of errors. The developer's bizarre use of English - given in the several entries I read - could create significant error in comprehension for students and laymen and needs to be corrected. Another error from July 5th: "American George Rochberg, who used *Romantic* and modern styles" - in this case, "romantic" isn't capitalized. Prof. Kazez can check the Chicago Manual of Style here. Why, on the whole, grammatical abnormality plagues this app. is a mystery - it should have been professionally proofchecked. I wrote to the supervising developer, who unhelpfully disputed me - incorrectly - this is an authentic let down. Not recommended at present. Show more

Be sure click the listening link!
"A nugget of knowledge a day keeps the cobwebs away." It must be difficult to distill a composer's contributions down to a few choice sentences. It is neither too wordy, too technical, nor too anecdotal. HATS OFF to your fine research and editing! Show more

    I like this app.
This app is great. I would like to see it somewhat more developed. It's too short. I could read an extra paragraph as well as your brief summary.

    Great app
This is a great app for music students and classical music lovers of all ages. Highly recommended.

You thought you know a lot about music...365 composers you might have never heard of!
Nice little trivia app. Most people will hardly recognize any of the composers, and the tidbits take no time at all to read. Sometimes they really inspire further research and lead to some cool discoveries! Show more
