It frequently does not function well.

This is not a review of NPR or KCLU programming, which is great. Packet handoff is sketchy. It sometimes fails when I simply switch from Bluetooth to speaker or Bluetooth to Bluetooth. Handoff between cell antennas while driving is also sketchy. Continuity is also sketchy, with the same audio repeated up to 10 times upon reconnect. Queued packets are dropped constantly, and entire queued streams are lost on handoff. This does not happen with other streaming media apps! I suggest scouting for a more robust mobile framework code set. Show more

I use this app all the time. It is rarely down and non fictional. It brings me close to what’s happening near me. Totally recommend it.

Amazing resource for local news!

They’ve done a good job creating an easy to navigate application. Good how? The quick-glance test. Seeing categories of stories quickly. Local stories vs national. Current vs almost current. Search capabilities are also good. Lastly, it’s nice to rely on an app that isn’t in regular crash position. Wrap all of that in a competent news team and you’ve got a winner! Nice work. Show more

I love listening to NPR on this app! I don't even live in Ventura County anymore, but the KCLU programming is better than my new local station. Also, great features on the app itself. I would love to give 5 stars, but it does freeze up on me sometimes. Show more

I grew up in Ventura listening to KCLU on my pocket radio, and last year when I graduated high school I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The KCLU app has been a wonderful way to stay up to date with news from home and shows from KCLU. I’ve always loved the show lineup, and through this app I can enjoy it even though I now live across the country. Thank you for this app. Show more

App works really well most of the time but there are cut outs and times when it will say that one show is on but it is actually another so it is confusing and at times disappointing. Also I had no idea that they created their own app and was continuing to try to find my station on the NPR app. Show more

I listen KCLU in my car, house and Gym all the time. love the programs it offers.

I listen through the KCLU app while I walk my dogs in the morning. It’s informative and entertaining. Works flawlessly.

If you live in Ventura County and just want to listen to your local NPR station, this is a much better choice than the NPR app. The feed never drops out and you can quickly find stories that you heard in your way to work or while you were listening around the house. Show more

I've been listening and donating to KCLU for15+ years. It is an NPR station par excellence. Now I've moved to greater Seattle and it has many NPR stations. All are good but none measure up to KCLU. So I just listen online. Keep up the good work. Show more
