UI freezes when loading iTunes library
What I thought originally was a misbehaving app turns out to be a UI that gets blocked when the iTunes library is loading. Additionally the app does not support playlist folders, so my meticulously organized library is a giant list with no discernible order. djay pro also has this issue, but apparently this doesn’t bother anyone else, just me. Beyond that, playback is smooth and support for external controllers and i/o options is top notch, well done! Show more

    My Favorite DJ App!
You’re missing out if you’re not giving this app an honest look. Dust off that MIDI gear laying around and map it... works great with my faderfox setup. Stable and trustworthy. Works with DVS and great to sync other apps since you can share clock, link, etc. Stop investing in gear that only works with one app, thanks for supporting MIDI devs! Show more

The Best dj app on iOS HANDS DOWN!
This is the best iOS dj app I've ever seen, not a toy. No other app can do provide such clear control over the music. It can actually be used for performances and works well. The software is solid and has all the basic dj functions crammed into an app. Awesome for practice while on the go. It had helped my dj skill move to the next level. The only thing I don't like is the subscription. $90 a year for an app seems way too expensive. PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING AN ADROID VERSION. Thanks!! Show more

    Shady Developers
Bought this app with no in-app purchase. After updating the app, now every minute their SUBSCRIBTION ad pops up forcing you to subscribe to one of their fees making this full paid app into a useless demo. Show more

    Powerhouse!
I've been using this app for 2.5 years and its pure power. Super low latency, all 4 tracks playing & my iPad battery lasts LAX to NYC mixing the entire flight (5hrs strong). They keep out developing themselves with more power and ease of features. Well done guys! Ver 9.0.6 = the UI is clear, quick to navigate and the effects and cues are integrated better than ever. Already bought full version of this app, now it's nerfed with a subscription. Bad form
Really disappointed that the app which I already bought is then nerfed because now they want a subscription fee. That's not customer support, that's a shakedown. Oh well, DJay or edjing here I come! Edit: in response to the developer - when they did update to djay2 they didn't nerf djay to force you to upgrade. What you did to the app would be equivalent to someone buying a car, then taking the car keys at the next service appointment, then saying "yah, even though you bought the car, we're not going to let you drive it unless you start paying us monthly". Re: Developer Problems
This is a one star review because it is what the developer(s) deserve. This app was purchased for $19.99 being represented as a perpetual license. An update was released without warning basically bricking the application for everyone who supported it in the beginning and now attempting to extort a subscription out of said users. While it is unfortunate that the developer(s) lacked the foresight to have a sound and sustainable business model it is not the fault of the customers that have supported the app since the beginning. If negative stars were an option they would have been selected for how this situation was handled. The existing users could have been grandfathered into a perpetual license with new users having the subscription model available. What happened was essentially a bait and switch which is fraud. Another option would have been to release a new pro version with a subscription model and leave the existing users on the original version with the original terms that were in effect when they purchased the app. While this app has had more than 60 updates since the beginning it lacks innovation. Most, if not all, of the UI changes were more of an annoyance to anyone that uses the app on a regular basis. Using the term "pro" is a bit of a misnomer as this app has a number of issues that prevent it from being viable for professional users. One of them being the frequent UI changes that leave you stranded from gig to gig with no way to regress to the previous layout. Another is that it frequently crashes and force quits in the middle of using the app which is a show stopper. This has been across a number of current devices and recent iOS versions. The current subscription model says $89.99 for 60 months but it's buyer beware once they have your money. If they decide a year from now that the price point they chose is not sustainable they may get greedy and try to extort more money out of everyone again. It has already happened as you can see. I look forward to seeing what other iOS developers come up with to replace this app on my devices as we will no longer be supporting it. Show more

    Cool but one thing..
I love the DJ snake and Dillion Francis remix of " Get Low" but I can't record it. I want to record it so I can upload songs to YouTube.

    Exceptional
I was using the older version of this app for a radio show. This is the only app that allows you change variable tempo and pitch separate p to the degree it does. Show more

    Was great, now terrible
I've been with Dj Player for a few years and I have to say, their recent update to the interface was a large step backwards. Some would say the user interface is not important, but this change was huge and in my opinion, a bad one that has led to me deleting the app. This latest version features two digital turntables in the center, just like the Edjing and Djay apps, which not only made DJ Player no longer unique from them, but made it less functionable. Nobody scratches on their iPhone or iPad using the screen. Maybe if they have vinyl or midi, but don't waste all that screen space with the vinyls! Have your own flavor DJ Player! On top of this, by adding these, many functions were added into sub-menus that made them more difficult to access when mixing. This is especially an issue if you need to access 2 parameters at the same time on 1 deck that are on different menus because you wouldn't be able to. If they didn't put the huge vinyl displays in the middle, they would have reduced the impact of this. Furthermore, the price has gone UP to use the software. I would have payed it for the old version because I loved it's uniqueness and functionality over the other popular DJ apps. But charging as much as the full version of Traktor or Serato for a limited amount of time on the full version of an app? And one that has gotten worse? Ridiculous. I've gone back to using Edjing after this last update as, unfortunately, my experiences with the app have gone from exciting and positive to annoying, frustrating, and upset. I hope DJ Player changes things because they have potential if they are willing to move away from where every other dj app is going. After all, they do have great midi and DVS support which is an awesome idea. My unedited old review of the previous version I wrote two years ago: I first began using this app completely unaware of how mixing was done. I read the little instruction packet and messed around a little first. There's a lot to see and be scared of but it's not hard to figure out if you are willing to get over the learning curve. It's by far the most professional app on the App Store and months later I still use it and I own my own professional hardware and I still love it for it's simplicity yet ability to work so easily. I mix on the train with it on my commute and it is perfect for these functions. Has almost all of the features my home setup has, and even some I wish my setup has. Do try! If you learn how to use it, the app will be much more accessible than any others on the App Store like djay or edjing. Show more

I wish i saw this used more. Great app.

    Integral to my workflow
I've used Traktor, Serato, and Rekordbox DJ, and I've confidently switched to DJPP for my digital vinyl and even other deejaying.

    Great
This app has got to be one of the best Dj apps I've used so far. Need a bigger screen, every knob is tiny on the iPhone 6. Using this app on any iPad would be ideal. All in all amazing app. Show more

    Game changer!
My year subscription just ended for $20, and I'm definitely going to renew again for $20, The current version is so much visually better and cvs is tighter... I love this app using it frequently with my portablist (Numark PT01 & Vestax Handytrax)Dj setup and iPhone 6. Latency is less than 3m. Tighter than Traktor... I like how you can use different Timecode vinyl and adjust the settings to calibrate properly. I prefer using Traktor Mk2 vinyl rather than Serato's vinyl because of the accuracy and low latency... developers continue to update the app making it visually better frequently... keep up the good work!
