    Needs update for ios 8
Great and unique product that will hopefully excel in the latest iPhones.

    Classic iOS modular synth revived
Jasuto is one of the older modular synths on iOS, and it was recently (July 2014) revived with an update to add AudioBus and unlock the IAP's that were previously for sale. I found this app very comparable to SunVox, in all the ways that are good and bad. The possibilities with this thing are virtually endless - it can play samples, create tons of synth sound, and do effects. It also added MIDI control, though there are some interesting scale-based keyboards within the app. I do still find that it's a bit intimidating to figure out how to get all of these features to work, but they made a lengthy manual available online. What we really need now is a tutorial video or 10 to really help people discover that functionality. But at the sale price I paid for it, what a fun and excellent modular synth! Show more

The best app ever, not kidding.
With the last couple of updates this app has become the super app it's always promised to be. I'm so glad it hasn't been abandoned. Audiobus and now midi has made this again the reason I bought an ipad. It is so many things: a sequencer, sampler, synth, modular/math, granular/slicer, and now a midi controller. Just amazing. Awesomeness
I am brand new to Jasuto, though have played with Audulus. This seems more approachable for a modular synth of this type. Thank you goes to the generosity of the dev, and the thoroughness of the PDF manual. I can see much time vaporizing for me enjoying this app, and that can indeed be a good thing! I will update this once I get to really sink my teeth into it. Talk about an app awaking from a long slumber full of fresh energy! Show more

    Generous Update
This is a BIG update. 5 starts based on their generosity alone. I will update this review after I've had time to explore the new Jasuto.

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Ok, generally I like noodling for notes, but this frustrating gadget is only for the pen protector crowd, people willing to push little circles around for three hours just to make one screechy sound. There are hundreds of apps that do the same thing with one one hundredth of the time--which saves you some time to create music. Also, in spite of the fact that you can't record without "buying" record, they nonetheless trigger the red bar at the top of your iPad that you are recording, which you're not. But it stays up there for the remaining lifetime of your iPad--unless you delete, because they don't tell you what arcane command makes it go away, which in my case is ok. I figured it out: delete! My New Best Friend
I have a few of the modular synthesizer-type apps. This one has become my new favorite. It seems very intuitive to me. And you can learn a lot about modular synthesizers and signal paths. Or at least I'm learning a lot. I guess I don't know about you. But for me this was worth every penny and I bought all of the IAP. I think the main thing I have to be careful of with this app is I could end up playing just this, or at least just this through all kinds of Audiobus filters and effects and loops. Very addictive. I expected updates
this was previously 6 stars. The author abandoned the project and it's a buggy toy now. this same concept, if implemented well would be amazing. the Jasuto concept is great and powerful. It is more like a pilot, and I wish someone else could work on a more professional Jasuto even if it's $20. Show more

    Disappointed
Is very cool but the FTP does NOT work well, also, there should be better documentation. What's the use of building patches if you can't export audio easily.

Intriguing, with possibilities, but needs manual
This appears to be a very powerful tool for exploring sound design. It is very robust, with many features, but desperately needs a good user manual. There are some materials available but they fall far short of a good instruction manual. Show more

    Deep, great sound, amazing potential!
Not for the faint of heart, but really deep synthesis. Makes most other music apps seem way overpriced. Controllers are the one area where more sophisticated modules would be good. The keys module is fairly Spartan. It would be handy to be able to create a custom controller that controls several parameters sent to several modules while also controlling pitch. Show more

    Amazing
I bought this app over the weekend and I am hooked. The quality is outstanding - the interface is beautiful and it hasn't crashed on me once. There are many modules so a great deal to explore. As my brother told me, make sure you have a speaker node or you won't hear anything! Show more

    Unique
This is certainly a unique interface and it has tremendous potential. I agree with those who believe the user manual needs some fleshing out. Also, I think the app playback would be more effective through the bottom speaker on the iPhone rather than the top (ear) speaker when there is no connector in the audio port. This would require proper feedback control features, of course. Show more

    abandoned
Author appears to have abandoned this app. Could be nice, but needs work - which apparently it's not going to get. Avoid.

    Worth the money
This app is easily the most powerful synth in the app store, but it's developer seams to have abandoned the project. Bugs and requests go unchecked for months and is missing some pretty basic stuff. CONSIDERING how great this app is, it's a shame the dev doesn't communicate with his customers at all. To his credit last I heard he is working on Jasuto Studio. You cannot record past 47 seconds, no core midi, the interface can be a bit clumsy past the basic stuff, and you cannot sequence past 4 bars. That said, If Jasuto Studio is a update then definitely buy this app, if not be wary of a dead end. Show more

    Amazement
This application has me over the edge in amazement. Every time I open it up I have to take a minute just to let how great it is sink in before I get to work. This is a little bit of a overwhelmer though. It took watching the developers YT videos many times before some of the functions made themselves clear. If you happen to take the plunge I really do suggest taking the time to learn this one or you might just feel like you are trying to read a Japanese website with English eyes. It is not very hard to get the basics down but the real magic comes from the possibilities. As in they are endless. Well almost. The CPU is the only limit here. I have found myself spending hours doing just little things like making a one note sound and tweak on it for way too long. I really wish I could master this software and I am sure I will get better in time. I really want to create a huge scene that could produce a full bands worth of music. Also it might be fair to tell folks that it works great with the irig so if you are looking for a new way to add effects and possibly synth up your rig a bit then plugging into Jasuto might make your day nit certainly did mine. I have played with tons of synths and this one makes experimenting so easy and forgiving that it begs to be done every time you load up. If you are at all a fan of making synth music or just wanted a way to program your own synth then this $5 app will give you a lifetimes worth of synth space. All it takes is a little time and effort and this can easily become a new hobby unto itself. Great work by this developer means I am now loyal and look forward to anything and everything he puts out. Do yourself a favor and get your brain working and check this thing out. It is unreal. Be warned though. This is not a total handholding affair. You probably will run into situation where you won't understand. Fear not as everything that has a question has an answer and there is a good chance someone before you has had a similar experience. All it really take is a moment to find it before you go and knock the app in your rating. It will also help tremendously if you are up to par on your synth terms so you can better set up your dream synth without worry. The kid that was crying about only having glide should check his 'release' setting as this is a common term/parameter used to control the 'release' of a note. Imagine that. Change that number and notes hold or release quicker. There also seem to be other minor issues I read that just seem to be from users not taking the time to watch the 7 tutorial video the developer has kindly made. Watch these. They will help. I had trouble with my first attempt getting the nodes to connect. I had no idea you needed to tap and drag across the screen as to highlight the group you want to wire up. It's little things like that, that will cause folks to rush to rate and hurt the developers chances to sell a great product. All right guys that's it from me. It's a long one. It's been fun. Back to work. Later. Show more
