    This is an amazing app!!!
It is so much fun to play with and you can play new beats without having the instrument in front of you!!!

    Nice
Voice Band is grrrrrrrreat! Developers, please continue to work on the amazing iGOG drum app. And make an iPad version. Even the iPhone version running on my iPad is better than the drums they give you in GarageBand for iPad. Show more

Fun, but not very usable for a musician
As a musician, I was intrigued by the idea of this app after seeing a video demo, but overall I was disappointed with it. There is a noticeable latency to the voice detection (which is understandable, though unfortunate) and at least for my voice, the pitch detection was too sensitive to small variations. This made the tracks sound wobbly. If you have very precise vocal pitch, you will probably have better results, but my pitch is pretty good and it still didn't work well. For most instruments it would be better if the app would round it off to the nearest pitch in the selected scale and turn off bending. There were two other flaws that got in the way of the app's usefulness to me. One was that the multitrack started clipping after about 4-5 layers were recorded - this can be fixed by turning down the volume of the tracks before recording. If it's feasible for the developers, it might be a good idea to do the mix with some extra headroom and do some auto-adjustment of levels. The other flaw was that I constantly got double triggers on the Kick/Snare instrument, and had a difficult time controlling whether a given beat was a kick or snare. I'd rather that you could specify a pitch range for kick and snare, say a low note for kick and high not for snare. One other thing to be aware of is that it layers tracks like a looper, not a multitrack recorder. You cannot mix / adjust the relative balances of the tracks after recording them. If you are just looking for something for a few minutes of fun and have $2.99 to burn, go for it; but if you have any desire to sketch out actual songs with this, in its current version at least, it will probably be an exercise in frustration and I do not recommend it. ....
Some people may just not know how to work it. It is really useful when you're trying to make covers..... I love it!

    Save your money
I had low expectations, and Voice Band ended up being worse than anticipated. It's almost unusable. The kick/snare drum mechanism is atrocious -- the app can barely tell when to do either even after tweaking the controls for hours. It's nearly impossible to hum a melody and have it remotely reproduced. This isn't even much fun as a toy as is. I love the concept, but it needs tons of work. Save your money until there's a major update. Show more

    A toy at best
I've been composing songs for over 20 years and hoped this might give me a tool to quickly lay down grooves and vocals. NOT! If you're a kid looking to goof off, go for it. Otherwise, this is a joke. I want a refund. Show more

This would be cool if I wasn't releasing a better one.
It will have all the things you've wanted and be flawless...
