I love this! But it needs more sounds, more features, more settings. The UI could be enhanced when it comes to saving, deleting, viewing, etc., but a fantastic app! Well worth the money when more sounds will be added. Show more

This is an awesome little tool. I have recently started writing music using Reason and have been slowed by having to learn a bit of music theory. This instrument skips over theory and allows you to play what sounds right with confidence knowing your always in key. Make this 5 stars by importing and exporting midi and variable bpm. More waveforms would be nice too. Show more

Nicely polished look, feel and responsiveness. Very fun and useful tool. As a long time guitarist, I write and record for my own amusement and creative outlet, and this tool is among many unbelievable apps I've found that give me far more ability to add depth and just inspire me. WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!! I feel bad that I got this while it was free! Works flawlessly on an Ipod 3G 4.1. More sound patches will make Hexaphone exponentially more useful. I can't wait! I've seen enough synth apps on iPhone,some does really sound good,but the thing is any synth that comes with standard piano keyboard is just nothing meaningful on this tiny device, cause the keys are too small to play on.this app is different, it comes with a well designed keyboard with built-in scales. The keys are sized close to the finger size which makes it more playable. And u can choose different scales from the preset, like blues, major etc. The marks on the keys makes things much easier too. This app is perfect on this tiny phone.plus, it has really sweet sound too. Show more

I love it - it's like someone took that Casio keyboard I used to have as a kid, made it way cooler, easier to use, and put it on my phone. I love the fact the it defaults to a scale, so that you can't really play wrong notes -- sort of like a harmonica (hint: if you want all the piano keys, that's the "Chromatic" scale). And once I learned to "slide" the notes, I really felt like a pro. Most people will never get to a point on an instument that will allow them to enjoy the creative and improvisational aspects of music. This app rewrites the rules of classical instruments (knowing which notes to play when) and brings an opportunity for music creation and improvisation to anyone with an iPhone/iPad, an ear, and a couple of fingers. Such a simple and brilliant idea, and executed far better than anything else out there. Show more

I love this app. You can pick it up and make music without knowing what the hell you're doing, but there are plenty of advanced features (mixolydian scale! tonewheel patch! recording!!) that make sure you never get bored. Really great learning tool, too - a fun way to learn your intervals. Or just mess around with the loops for a few hours. Love. This. App. Show more

This would be the best 99 cents I've spent in a long time, if it weren't for the fact that I let a friend play with it and now he won't give my iPhone back to me.
