    Great App
I’ve been using this app forever! I use it regularly to figure out how to play chords in alternate locations along the neck! Great if you’re trying to get away from the open (cowboy) chords. I use it mostly for ukulele but have also used it for guitar and banjo. Show more

My Go To App for Uke
This is the first app I reach for when I’m trying to do a chord on the ukulele. It’s simple and has exactly what I’m looking for.

Was fabulous until the uke chords disappeared!
I purchased this app specifically for ukulele chords, and until now it has worked flawlessly! What happened???? When I opened the app during a uke jam today, it was set for guitar chords and did not have any other instrments available!!! Please give me back my uke chords! Show more

    This is GREAT app
Very easy to use, suggests one fingering for chord and - MOST importantly - shows you alternate fingerings for the same chord down the side. Beautifully laid out, much faster to find the chord you want than any other app I've seen. Includes dim7, aug, sus2 and sus4 as well as 6/9 b5 #5 and 9 chords so goes way beyond "basic" chords as far as I'm concerned! Love this app. Together with my metronome app this is one of the MOST used apps on my phone. Highly recommended. Show more

    I Loved it, Until…..
Just opened Basichords on my iPhone…and discovered a banner of iAd had taken over my favorite app. Images of crap Lego games , Clash of Titans, and Google are flashing in my face. I loved it—but if they’re gonna pull this, I am GONE. Show more

    Favorite chord finder
I own quite a few chord apps, but I always seem to come back to this one. The keyboard and layout makes it super fast to find the desired chord or inversion. Show more

favorite cavaco chord app - one minor gripe
Great cavaco / tenor guitar app. Don't buy Tekachords if you buy this. They are exactly the same thing. Why sell the same app with 2 different names? It's a rip off. Show more

    Most used chord app
I have tried many chord apps for uke chords... This is the one that stays on my home screen. Pick a chord super quick and instantly see several fretting positions too. Great that it has guitar chords as well. Show more

    My favorite
This is the best chord app ever!

    Good
Great app overall. Has more types of chords ( sus2, dim, etc) than a lot of the other apps I've tried. Would be even better if it had drop D ukulele tuning (DGBE) such as what is usually on baritones. Show more

    Great
This is a great chord app! If there was a paid version I would buy to get rid of the ads.

    Great For mandolin and guitar
I love this app for both mandolin and guitar. It's great how it shows which strings are the 5, 7, Root, etc, notes in the chord.

    Mandolin chords??
I just recently bought a book on mandolin chords and these chords do not match up with the chords in the book.... Any suggestions?

    I don't know what else you'd need...
It gives you all the chords with a dummy layout that anyone can read...and it's free.

    GREAT! Love the navigation!
Other apps make you scroll through dropdown menus, back buttons, etc. to see the chord variations. Basichords puts it all in front of you, easy to see on one page, just tap what you want, it appears, while other choices still remain visible. Show more

    Awesome chord finder
No diminished option! This makes no sense especially when there is a dim7 option. Please fix this for 5 stars.
  • JPili, 27.07.2012
    Yay!
But it needs chords that go like f/d and like that. Sorry for the ignorance.

    Simple, versatile, and comprehensive
Awesome app. I've played the guitar, banjo, ukulele and mandolin and it has every imaginable chord for all of them. To the reviewer who asked, "Am I missing something, or are there no diminished triads?": Yes, you are missing something. Diminished sevenths are essentially the same. If you're just going to play triads, you don't really need a chord chart. Show more

    Uke players rejoice!
For those who just want to play the uke for its sheer smile power, this is an indispensable app. Find a song, dial up the unfamiliar chords and you're off. Before long, you won't even need a chord finder. And since it plays chords for you, it makes a nice little composing tool--for those times when your uke isn't handy. Like in airplanes. Or in jail.
