    Excellent Synth
I heard Rolf (the developer of this app) on Ep 1 of Touch Sound podcast and was impressed enough to purchase NLogSynth Pro & NLogPoly. I think it sounds amazing especially for warm vintage-style patches. Being able to program and tweak on the iPad, share patches with the desktop version, and sequence using the AU plug-in is brilliant. Add AirPlay output and I'll find a way to add a sixth star! Not great. Disappointed.
I have almost every iOS synth out there. This one disappoints. The presets are waaay to effected. Arps are kind of lame. No alternate knob controls ( linear vs rotary). Interface is unnecessarily cluttered. Midi is clunky. Presets are cryptically named. Horizon synth is cheaper and better sounding with a very clean interface. iMS-20 is better value and better sounding. Too expensive for an amateur synth like this. Show more

Powerful, but with some untapped potential
I've been using NLog Pro for almost a year now, and with each update it's gotten better and better. It takes a bit more work to get a really "alive" sound out of it than iMS-20, but when you do get that sound, it's polyphonic—something iMS-20 unfortunately can't do. Currently, I've done a bit of tweaking with all four oscillators to produce a fairly realistic small pipe organ, with each oscillator being a stop on the organ. What I'd love to see is more oscillators to produce an even bigger, bolder sound... I'm talking "Deep Note" big! Show more

    Not worth the high $$
I have the Korg iMS-20 and this and the Korg blows this one completely out of the water as far as sound quality goes. The presets on this synth are horrible. The biggest problem is this synth has absolutely no punch or life or anything exciting soundwise. It's just dead sounding. I regret making the purchase. Show more

    Amazing Synth
I can't believe what this thing can do, like a $2,000 synth in your iPad.

Hands down the best synth in the app store!
I have them all and this is the best. Wonderful fat synths, dreamy pads. Compares to all the best true analog synths. My most used for sound design and loop creation synth. Show more

    Good program
Great sounds, despite what some say, but it's a synth so you program your own sounds... That's where this app excels. Easy and fun to tweak and good effects. Really, really, really pretty please... I hope they come out with a sequencer for this I would gladly pay... I bought this to make my own loops and that would be a great addition. With a midi controller this would be an awesome sound module. Show more

    Just what I wanted!
Great synth! Midi in using camera connection, powered USB hub, and USB midi keyboard. Plays flawlessly! Just jamed all night plugged into pa with live drummer. Turns iPad into live synth. Great sounds very playable very low latency. I can't say enough good things I am very happy performance was equal to NI's soft synths on my laptop. Show more

    Synth Enthusiasts Beware...
This may just be my individual response to this - but nonetheless i feel that the community should be made aware of my verdict. Right off the top I'll let you know that i own a Roland JP8000, a Korg Electribe, and a Roland JV1080. Additionally i have the Sylenth1 plugin for logic. If you are someone who expects similar quality of sound in this application, let me tell you that you won't find it. I found the sounds to be rather "2 Dimensional" so to speak. They lacked the appropriate requirements i had in mind for any synthesizer Software or Hardware. Sure the interface was not too bad looking, but i felt that what i heard did not compare to anything i already own. I would like to see the day where the ipad can store things such as a Sylenth1 Application or other assorted soft synths in existance. Not mere toys claiming to be in the same league. As far as synth apps go, i will say that this is most likely one of the best you will find - but it is not enough for people like me. Please take this into consideration - and remember, you may not feel the same as i do. Please respect my opinion as I respect yours. P.S. Sound aside - i found the knobs very difficult to operate with any sort of accuracy in mind. It may take getting used to in order to properly adjust parameters. Show more
