I like this app; it’s does almost exactly what I need it to do. One thing I think would be handy, though, is the ability to add the item number in the queue to the filename (via Preferences > General > Use A Custom Output File Name Scheme) with a Format Specifier like {QueueNumber}. That way, when dragging a playlist to the queue, the output folder has the tracks are in order (the Metadata usually gets used instead of the filename so that number shouldn’t show up in the title once burned). It encodes mp3s. It edits metadata. This is what I needed. Hallelujah! Update: I contacted the developer to report a minor bug and he replied quickly, fixed the bug, and even sent me a beta version to use until the next release. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Show more

encodes X to mp3. that is what this does. and it does it very very quickly (multi-threaded), easily, and with lots of flexibility. and yes the LAME codec is quite good. Show more

Very useful apps for me :)

I needed an app to convert VBR to CBR since my Pioneer CDJ-200 wouldn't play them. MP3 Encoder worked perfectly and did that for me. Overall this app is easy to understand as well. 5 Star for working right out of the box. Show more

My new car has an SD slot but only reads MP3s and my iTunes library is all AAC (m4a). This app is perfect for that! I just dropped my iTunes "Music" folder and transcoded straight to the SD card, and it rebuilt folders with artist and record album names, awesome. Thanks! Show more

I do a lot of recording in Propellerheads Reason and needed a quick way to convert my aiff files into mp3 to post to the web or share with friends. I used to use iTunes for the task but it felt cumbersome and I don't always want my demo tracks saved in iTunes. This program is great for dropping multiple tracks for conversion at a time. Conversion is quick, it allows you to tweak the settings, and can do two at a time on a dual core processor. Exactly what I was looking for. Show more

First I love almost every option that this app brings to the table. It's not near on par with DBpowerApp my favorite Windows counterpart but it still does some really good things. But my only gripe is that when it takes an MP3 at 120kbps and converts to 320kbps you get "Artist - Title of Song '2"" It throws the two in , which is really annoying and I don't have the time to go through thousands of songs and rename them. Please get this fixed then I'll give you 5 stars. Show more

I've had some dead in the water Realaudio files that I missed listening to. Couldn't find a decent encoder anywhere to handle the format. This little guy did the job effortlessly. I thought I'd lost some really rare stuff. I highly recommend this program! Show more

This is great app and it saves me time from the old way that I had to encode and add iTunes meta data to audio files. Very happy with this!

This app does a lot of smart things. It's very focused, simple and efficient. It does really cool stuff like allowing you to rename the file using ID3 tag information; choose between overwriting and keeping the original; and it allows you to take a folder that may already have MP3 files in it and only encode the non-MP3 files in that folder. This is awesome. A couple of suggestions for additional features: One is to have the ID3 tag section allow for default settings. For example, I might want to have the year default to always inserting 2011, unless individually inserted, likewise, Genre could always be Podcast or some other setting. These could be set in the preferences section, but then overwritten in the Info section when you go to enter other meta data. In addition to the default settings for ID3 tagging, it would be nice if it presented a list of favorites or recently used data for those fields, along with an easy to clear button in preferences. For example, I may often put Producer1_Name, Producer2_Name, or Producer3_Name in the Artist field. When I start typing one of those names, it should auto-complete with names that have been used before. This could be reset in preferences. These are suggestions that would make the app much better for me, and reduce the need for me to use other apps. However, this app very much does what it says and does it well. If the developer description meets your needs, I highly recommend getting it for the low price that it is. Show more

Very happy with this for the price. Will work great to encode your MP3s in a lower bitrate or convert to MP3 from the files listed. The medadata features are basic but easy to use, as is the file renamer while encoding. Show more

I just bought this app so that I could convert my music from mp4 format to mp3 format an dit won't let me do it. It said the app could do it, but it can't. What do I have to do to make it covert mp4 to mp3? Show more
