    Fantastic App
Very innovative, well designed and intuitive app that very nicely bridges notation, guitar and keyboard. Really outstanding! Great job!

There is no way a musician wrote this!
I want my $20 back! I do not have trouble with the MIDI input other than it being an octave off, but that is a minor detail compared to the worst thing that makes this pretty much unsuable for me. When you are in the key of Db, you do not use the enharmonic C# when someone plots a Db. I am kind of used to that eye roll scenario from applications I have used in the past, but I don’t understand why they give you no way of changing it to a flat. This makes this software pretty much unusable for me. I am not going to give someone a piece of music that looks like that! Show more

    Very Disappionted
I WANT A REFUND!!! I just spend $19.99 on an app that barely does what I it to do… This program could be very cool and useful with the addition of one simple thing… Please make it possible to click on the staff to add a note, so that we, who don’t have pianos or guitars or whatever don’t have to work with a tiny keyboard… It literally take like five minutes to complete a bar. This is very annoying… I think with the addition of that and some better keyboard comands could make this app very usable for musicians or people who just want to mess around… Show more

    MIDI keyboard input doesn’t work
I bought Reflow for the feature “input notes from a MIDI keyboard”, however this doesn’t actually work. Reflow allows me to correctly set my keyboard as the MIDI input device, and the device works correctly in every other music app, however there is no indication how to enable notation via MIDI input in Reflow. The manual passively mentions the feature without providing usage instructions, and the “Reflow Support” link sends me to the product advertising page without contact information or a user forum, so I give up. It otherwise seems to be a nice app, if I could actually input notes. Show more

    Disappointing
I picked this app up a few months ago when I had some iTunes credit to use and am I glad I didn’t spend any actual money on this monstrosity. While it certainly has a clean interface, it’s not at all intuitive or even useful. I’ve searched around for any kind of getting started or user’s guide and came up empty. The developer website is a joke in that it’s a front page with pretty pictures and links to social media sites to promote this crap. I’ve been clicking around for half an hour and have yet to enter an actual note on a staff. If the devs would take the time to document how to use this, it might actually be useful, but until then, you’re on your own to figure out how to use it. Show more

    Almost useless
I'm very disappointed in the application. It is far from intuitive to get the cursor to enter notes, go to a different beat, or even the next beat, change values, and the engine can't figure out that when you are doing something in complex meter, that each beat is divided by three. I can't find a way to have a metronomically accurate input from my midi keyboard. There is no way that I can find to change the tile from "piano piece" with "no artist." Show more

DO NOT BUY UNTIL APP IS FIXED!!!!
This app has loads of potential, with an iPad app and iCloud integration. Unfortunately though, note entry in this application is such a pain in the butt, that it renders the app useless for me. Way too may steps to enter one note!!!! Why can't I use my mouse to enter notes? The option to enter notes by keypad exists also in Finale, but I and everyone else I know, has opted to use a mouse!! If the app was fixed to emulate note entry in Finale, I think I would like this program even more than Finale, but as it stands, note entry is laborous and not at all intuitive. PLEASE FIX THIS APPLICATION!!! UNTIL THEN, I HAVE WASTED MY MONEY!!!!!!!!! AS FOR EVERYONE ELSE, DO NOT BUY THIS APP UNTIL YOU SEE SOME DEMOS ON HOW IT WORKS. NOTE ENTRY IS A PAIN!! THIS APP IS NOT AT ALL FUN TO USE!!! I'M SORRY FOR THE RANT, BUT I HATE WASTING MONEY…………. Show more

Very useful for what I needed!
I've read the other reviews and can relate where users are coming from, but wanted to share my thoughts on this software along with how I am currenty using it. I am an intermediate guitarist, and find reflow very useful as it does seem to center around guitar and bass a little more than anything else. Though I do read music, the ability to write using guitar tablature (+midi controller) first, or to further study other songs with displayed tablature is just a great thing to have. For the price, reflow is a great option compared to some of the higher end software out there with MOST of the same functions. I find learning songs is that much easier being able to import gp- files from the internet and having reflow as a default program for these files I likewise access on my itouch apps. I love the ability to export creations into midi, and then import those into other software, namely GarageBand, for further sound editing. I'm certainly not at a professional level and am purely a recreational musician, so I find everything I need here…well, almost everything! If I could add anything, I am real big on using midi and would LOVE to have the ability to import midi files INTO reflow, not just gp- files, and not just the ability to export them. I do create a lot of music in other programs like Band-in-a-Box, iReal, (and again, GarageBand) first with keyboard and guitar midi controllers, and would like to have the reverse editing option by getting them into reflow. Other than that, again for the price, reflow is a great piece of supplemental software. Show more

    Must have 10.7???
I think it's dumb that you have to have Mac OSX 10.7 to update something that you originally bought on for a previous version of Mac OSX... I paid for this app, I should be able to run it on the same OS I bought it for. Show more

Buggy and update NOT compatible with Snow Leopard?!
Definitely not as smooth an application as I had hoped. However, I bought it a few months ago and was willing to struggle through. Now the first update comes and it's ONLY FOR LION! Ridiculous. Don't waste your money. Show more

    Back again; still mad...
Trying to rewrite a long song...and decided, well, maybe I'll give Reflow another shot. It's not even letting me place a note this time! Again, folks, don't waste your money. The thing that irks me about Reflow is that it doesn't have a function for sheet music for one person using standard notation. I'm a cellist, and Reflow is useless to me since I can't write just plain sheet music for myself. ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5 stars. If I could do 0/5 that would be even better. Show more

Just bought it and Apple should not have allowed this app to release
I want my money back. In tab to notation middle C should be coorespond with a 3 on the 5th string or an 8 on the 6th string. It shows up an octave below. I looked for an adjustment and there isn't one. Your chord diagrams are not organized which forces one to have to look through hundreds to find basic chords. Further they are way to small when you drag them into a score. On the notation end, it just doesn't work. It should be as easy as typing a letter and placing it. I'm kicking myself for having not read other reviews pror to buying not for the money but, for feeling duped. You need to consult with professional musicians, players and writers and create a more functional product asap. Show more

    Pretty Darn Glitchy
I'm extremely disappointed how sensitive this program is to certain commands - I was just finishing up a transription and it quit on me unexpectedly. I was extremely satisfied up until this happened. Lesson learned - save after every measure! Show more

    Not great for piano
It's not very intuitive. Trying to notate a simple song for a young piano student shouldn't have been a headache. Placing a note is very sensitive and it's unnecessarily complicated to move a wrongly placed note. It seems like it would be better to have a pallette of notes versus having to place the note then right click and choose the note value. I wanted a way to export an mp3 or m4a of the song. I also wanted a way to zoom in, which would have made note placement easier. It'd be nice if there was better control over the extra junk on the page that kept me from consolidating the music to two pages. A way to change the size of the music would be great, especially when writing for young piano students. Show more

    Where's the support?
I've tried to use this app several times since wasting ten bucks on it. I can't figure out how to insert lyrics. Nothing happens when I press the text button except a blank window appears that I can't put anything into. Worse yet, when I tried to reach the listed support site, I'm getting a message that the site doensn't exist. Apple, I'd like my money back. Show more

Way to make a great software
I downloaded this app and started using it straight away. I love how easy it id to right the music down, but there are a few updates that could be made. I love the way it works and can play back the music so you can here if there are any stray notes. For $9.99 this app is completely worth it. I hope you enjoy it I certainly do. -KidSongWriter Show more

    Almost good software
The price is great, the implementation is almost useful. Clunky interface. Miserable, imprecise and skimpy manual. And some procedures described in the manual simply don't work. Hard to get it to do things easily. Like for instance, the manual claims you can enter a note several different ways, but in fact you have to use two of the methods at once to get anything. It takes too many clicks to accomplish a simple task like placing a note on the right line at the right duration. You can enter a note from the piano keyboard display, but only after you've clicked the place you want it with the mouse, so that's two clicks to enter the note. (And the keyboard does not play the note aloud as you click it... why leave that out?) And if you enter another note on the piano keyboard, it will try to make it into a chord with the first note you placed, so if you want to keep entering the melody line, you have to click the mouse on the next space before entering the note... So forget about "playing" the song on the piano display, because you have to go back to the staff to place each and every note. Clunky. Dumb. Not how people work. So, this is real close to being a good app, but as it stands, you pay for the low price in dis-ease of use. Show more

no... it isn't like finale or sebelius...
However, if you've been pining for Powertab on a mac, this is the best thing that I've found. I love this app, and find that it works very very well for putting together lessons, charts and songs for my students and band-mates. Show more
