The site does not make it intuitive for you

For years, I’ve admired friends who are always aware of new, interesting music. Maybe all this time they’ve just been using Hype Machine. I’ve listened to more new music in the last month than in the prior six months. Lovely service and a solid, useful app. Show more

the fact i can't easily figure out how to move along the track time to skip ahead in a song is aggravating but otherwise the UI is nice

Only real ones have this app

I remember when I first got Hype Machine, and how all I had to do was click on “popular,” and I would always get incredible new songs. They were always really good, and the past 3 years, the “popular” section has really gone down hill. It’s almost like no one is in charge of the list now. 9 times out of 10 it’s a really bad song. I really wish HM would get back on track. This app is how I would find about 80% of my music, but now I don’t even like using it anymore. Show more

I love HypeM and as soon as they announced supporters I joined. I believe in this app/site but I’m disappointed in amount of updates and features they have done since the announcement. I thought with supporters we would see a lot more updates, but that hasn’t been the case. Not only that but the app is glitched on my iPhone XR. The play/pause sound bar is overlapping at the bottom when in the listening track screen. Common guys, free apps are getting more updates then this. I’m on the verge of canceling my subscription unless we start to see some more dev updates. Show more

Was introduced to Hype Machine back in ‘07 when Songbird was a thing and it came installed on Ubuntu. Never tried last.fm, sick of broken record pandora (same songs loop’dee loop) also, when I asked hypem a question via email ~> they were quick to respond. The Hype Machine keeps the hipster in me fresh no matter how much I get older. #truStory - I hearted a track 2 seasons prior to Perez Hilton announcing on VH1 the same song ‘blockbuster’ of the summer. Yes, two seasons prior! Since you’ve read so much I’ll drop you a joke I heard from an Arizona comedia-nette (name drawing blank #sry) “How did the hipster burn their tongue?” “They drank their coffee before it was cool..” baduh dum Thank You for existing Hype Machine! I subscribed to the app for a few years and really enjoyed the app. When it came time to unsubscribe as I wasn’t using it as often (life gets busy!) the customer service was great and went above and beyond to help straighten out the monthly charges and my subscription. Thanks for the good music over the the past few years. Show more
