I was unsure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews; but when I tried the free version it turned out to be just what I had hoped for. I've played accompaniment / chords on guitar for many years, but have done very little with lead / melody. Transitioning to bass I need to get a firm grasp on identifying individual notes up the fretboard on all four strings. After trying the free exercises I saw the value (for me) in making two of the optional in-app purchases. Now I have lots of good, intelligent exercises to help me learn the basics. Show more

Limited acce$$ only. This ubiquitous "free app" lie is getting tiresome. What happened to the Trading Standards laws regarding false advertising ? PC's have software that you can also get for Apple, you have to pay for the same app with Apples nickel & dime scam. Show more

Would like it better if the info on the right were rotated 90 degrees so to align with the neck of the bass. Looking up the neck to the nut is a bit awkward. Show more

I realize the app is free but must the ad banner be across the interface buttons? Can't really say what I think of the app cause I can't push or read the buttons, and when I try, I hit the ad banner. Really?!? Are you inept, or just sneaky? Neither is a good thing. Show more

The free version has an add banner right across the bottom of the screen that blocks interface elements. Setup is confusing. For something as simple as a picture of a fretboard and a quiz to help you learn/remember the notes should be easier to use, requiring no setup. Show more

Major issue: No configuration for a 5 string bass with a high C. No training for chords. Interface needs work Full version is overpriced for what it does.
