This app is great. Update is needed, iPhone keeps saying it'll slow my phone down.

So easy to use. Makes writing and composing a breeze. As a 'Uke player appreciate the comprehensive chord library and ability to record and playback.

Just been using this for a few days but it's been wonderful so far. I used to store all my songs and ideas in notes/voice memo apps, but this app consolidates everything into one clean interface. I really love it. Will be using it for all my songs. I agree with another reviewer that there should be an option to print from the app. But that's very minor. I love the app! Show more

I love this app!!! It really needs to be updated to iOS 8

It allows you to record audio in through the mic, but it needs an import audio function so you can play your own music tracks while you're writing. That's my only gripe. Organizationally, and with the built-in word help, it's great visually. Show more

This is exactly what I've been looking for. A way to organize my songs quickly and easily without worrying about writing everything down and loosing important parts in the process. Thank you for this (to the designers). Highly recommended. Show more

There is finally an app that is easy to use, simple and just stores you lyrics! I love how there is different sections and especially a passcode lock!!! The only thing I would change is the little thing that let's you take off the key board, it really annoying and always gets in the way! But overall I love it!!! Show more

This app helps me so much with my songs. I love how you can back up all you files with one button to dropbox, you can drag the sections around to try out different structures and use recorded audio while working. Worth the money by far Show more

I used to use a sound-recorder app (that will remain nameless) to record my song ideas on the go. It wasn't perfect, though. I wanted to be able to jot down lyrics and chords (sometimes the iPhone mic doesn't record an electric guitar and vocals with the utmost clarity and I couldn't make out what exactly the words were). When the app had a disastrous update that wiped the titles off all of the files, I decided I needed to do better. Songwriter really delivers. It really formats the data entry in a way that makes sense from a songwriting perspective (you can break each song down by section, can add lyrics AND chords, and record an audio file for each section). Mix in a handful of export options and you have a safe little corner of your phone to get creative in. (I wouldn't say no to an iOS7 update, but hey, we're just splitting hairs at this point.) This app is great for writing lyrics, including chords and arranging song structures. It has a nice chord bank (with banjo and ukelele). I like that you can select the key of the song, transpose and apply capos and see what the chords change to. Makes it easy to try new keys. My biggest complaint is that there is no way to print from the app. You have to email yourself a PDF file and print from that. Otherwise, this would be a five star app. Please come up with a printing option! It really would be a lot easier. Show more

This app has everything a songwriter needs to write on the go. Every feature is amazing, and i cant think of anything it is missing. Just discovered the dropbox linking capabilities. And customer support is top-notch as well. Worth every penny! Show more

So far this app has helped me construct section of songs when I'm away from studio. Has been great for that. The only major problem I've had was syncing my lite songwriter from drop to songwriter after I purchased it. Really wanted to transfer those songs so I could delete the lite songwriter. Almost done with those songs so I'll delete soon anyways but beware that if u like the app just buy the songwriter app so u don't have to fight with Dropbox that won't restore backup to the payed app. Now I did email Simon for help to resolve issue & he emailed me back once & I've tried to contact him again & no response. So unfortunately customer service is not good. Update-I have used this app for roughly 6 months now & I think this is a good app but not great. It gets the job done. I have since moved over to Songwriter Pad. This one is freakin awesome! I can sync my songs thru cloud by just pressing sync with the one on my imac in my studio-i don't have to go to a bunch of screen to add & sync just press sync after I login! And the simplicity of this app is simple & makes it easy for me to focus on writing rock music & not on the program. And customer service is A++++ they get back to you quickly!!!! This is probably my first review ever for an app-I believe you'll be writing more songs with songwriter app b/c u won't be focusing on the program. Show more

Great app!

The app is awesome. It's easy to use and the voice recognition is spot on when dictating lyrics. It also has the ability to record musical ideas quickly. I've written a bunch of songs since discovering this app and have a dozen ideas. Great app Show more

This app was great until they reformatted the screen for the iPhone 5. Now on the 4s when you get down past a certain point you can't see what you're typing because the keypad blocks it. Please fix and I will give this a 5 star rating. Show more

No Docs, No Quickstart, No real reviews. Not worth five dollars, Maybe $.99. I emailed the author for how to use and got no answer. Great apps have docs, help files, or videos. this has none. If you can't use it, where is the value. Lazy support (none!) Don't buy until you try. Maybe instead of having your friends write reviews, you could give some support for your app. Pretty sucky for a wasted $5.00. Show more
