    Awful software
I regret my purchase of an ACS 10 because this software and the accompanying ACS Manager is an embarrassment. I expect the software for a $7000 device to be stable at a minimum. Others have already noted the poor interface and confusing features. That I can live with. The poor handling of metadata and lost edits is inexcusable. The utter inability to effectively move, copy, and delete content is inexcusable. A firmware update that corrupts the metadata file is inexcusable (ok, that one’s on the device firmware not on the software). Show more

    Not so good ...
The Conductor App was very good for app. our first year of use. Then came the updates. I’m not sure what has happened but we can no longer stream properly. We can force it to stream after many tries, but it no longer automatically connects, etc. We contacted customer support. We’ve tried everything they’ve suggested but it still does not stream correctly. Aurender thought it was our Qobuz streaming service, but that was tested and it’s not the case. Then they thought it was our 1 GB internet service - but we hooked it up at a neighbor’s home some miles away who uses a different internet company and the issue remained. Aurender claims it is not their N100, but stated it was a software issue (Conductor App) but have been unable to fix it for months. At this point we feel abandoned by the company. Improper streaming, no support. Very disappointed. Show more

    Needs work (A Lot Of)
By the way by Update I mean MY updated comments Update 5: I am at a complete loss as to how, after deleting all art work from all the files in question in my Update 4 comment: The Wrong Art Work Still Displays on the files in the Aurender App Update 4: Aurender requires a baker’s half dozen restarts in order for the app to register new additions of audio files to the Aurender Server Also is not handling artwork correctly: recently added some files with built in art work ... Aurender simply renders art from one of the files and applies it all the files Odd behavior as the artwork displays properly in iTunes Continued Update3 : Reminder: The Aurender App is just ONE component of the Aurender system and reviewing it is somewhat lacking in comprehensive meaning. Transferring audio to the Aurender server is excruciatingly error prone ... to the point of questioning whether any attention has been paid to rendering the Aurender Server compatible to Mac OS Please see below for update First Review I love the Aurender system when it’s working. But does not hold network connectivity reliably and does not handle transferring Mac files well with permissions locked resource metadata or invisible files contained in folders ... seems to me the Aurender OS should clean up files behind the scenes while transferring to the server hardware. As for the Conductor App: seems to under-utilize the iPad possibilities ... while it gets the job done I’d love to see the ability to access file metadata maybe even edit on the fly via the Conductor... or at least View it. The app or the server does tend to fall asleep and necessitate Re-searching and connecting. Don’t get me wrong ... it’s amazing tech ... but at a bit of a frustration considering ... It’s not quite Seamless yet Updated Review: I have to lower my review to 1 star Not sure how to get the app to recognize the server folders on the main display PLUS It is clear to me using the Aurender Music Server system that it simply is not ready for prime time. It simply is not compatible with Mac OS to a reasonable level My personal experience is that it is an unmitigated disaster of mal-function One example: Generally within a minute of transferring audio files from Mac to the Aurender Server file permissions get corrupted and files can neither be added to nor even deleted from Aurender drive until the whole system is rebooted ,,, then there is another few minute round of function ,,, Rinse/Repeat/Rinse/Repeat Bottom Line: Not Compatible With Mac Show more

Great support, nice DAC, so so file managment
Support has been great. I’ve contacted them 4 x in the past year for either questions or suggestions. They have always been responsive. A+ for support. DAC seems good. I haven’t done a side by side but no complaints. File management is poor. Can’t rename or delete music files on the hard drive with any ease. Can’t select a group of files to make changes to (such as part of an album or a rating). When you import music no meta data comes with it so my few thousand collection songs I am having to go back 1 by 1 to rate & catagorize. The plus side, however, is since this part of higher end system it’s making go through each song and I’m now rating songs differently because they sound so much better on my current system. I’m using an Aurender A10. Show more

    Really?
This app acts like it’s 40 years old. I can’t edit metadata, I can’t load a CD directly, it won’t even respond to the pause function. I’m so sorry I ever bought the A10. The company doesn’t respond to requests. Show more

    Great App and spectacular Company
I am writing this review from a unique perspective, I am totally blind. While there may be things I would always like more in an app, my first question is whether that app is accessible. This app and the Music servers work wonderfully using the built-in text to speech applications on my iPad. Whenever I find a problem, I contact the developer and they make best efforts in fixing the issue. Unlike products like Roon, where the developer doesn’t care at all about accessibility, the Aurender team is totally committed to providing an accessible product. I can access all my several thousand songs by any of the means available to a sighted user. And best of all the music sounds GREAT Show more

    Works for me
I admit I found the interface clunky and non intuitive initially. Now that I’m used to it I wouldn’t want anything else. Oh, I suppose I wish I could control the volume from the app instead of constantly switching iPad with remote. But I like the playlist functionality and I love the sound so it’s working for me, Show more

Version 3.0 is like new coke. Not what we want or need.
I really liked the older app so when 3.0 was released I expected the new version number to translate to big changes. And what we got is a new set of skins, new locations for many functions that are less instinctives and less convenient but you still can’t do the things I really hoped to see added (file management from the app, automatic metadata population and a metadata editor in the app). If you are going to mess with what people know and like then at least deliver some serious new features that are needed. Version 3.0 is like new coke, don’t need it, don’t like it and it ruined a good thing. Show more

I wish i could roll back
Much to my dismay. I found the Aurender conductor app updated on my ipad mini. This new app is really bad. Wish i could get the old app back. I seldom write reviews but felt compeld to write about this one. Seems like i can’t find my albums. The search bar has a mind of it’s own. This app is not quite ready for prime time. Show more

    Terrible update
This update 3.0 Frequently stops playing and the app goes blank. There is nothing in the queue and silence feeding the DAC. Complete bomb. Must be addressed immediately!

    V3 Beautiful Functional Design
V3 is long awaited but very elegant design modernizing the very functional conductor application. I particularly like the ability to store your ratings and playlists for the time. Scales great on my 12.9” iPad Pro. Show more

A mess, and extremely outdated interface design. Apple should ban it.
Hey, Aurender! Go back to work. This is a shame. I completely regret having bought my x100 because of this crappy app. You keep promising you are going to update its interface and functionality and nothing! It’s been more than 4 years that you keep saying the same. That stinky brown background, an interface that looks as old as the invention of the iPhone. Please, look around! It’s not that difficult, just copy Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, you name it. Please, put some work into it and quit your eternal vacations! Show more

    Great app
Rarely crashes and provides excellent integration with the Aurender servers. Could use a color refresh and connection to Allmusic.com instead of Wikipedia.

Has Basic Functions, Lacks Good Liner Notes Capabilities
At first I thought Conductor was just plain awful, it’s not at all intuitive. However, once you figure out how to use it, it does function as intended and it accomplishes most necessary tasks. However, it’s missing a lot: It really does need a “makeover”, it looks like it’s from the ‘90’s. More importantly, it needs a much better link to Liner Notes and information about the album/song/ artist. Wikipedia just does not cut it! Also, I’ve discovered that the Wikipedia link only works if you don’t add any custom information in the title on your music collection. I have a very large music collection, so I have 3/4 versions of many albums, and I title them by version or mastering (i.e. DSD, HDTracks, or Vinyl Rip, etc), once you do this, it will no longer pull up the Wikipedia link which is very frustrating! Also, a big feature they have missed, once you create a playlist, there is no way to edit the title of the playlist, you need to recreate the entire thing if you want to change (or fix) its name. Hopefully, a new Conductor app is coming soon with a major refresh, if Aurender won’t give us Roon, then at least please try and copy their interface and features to create a new Conductor that is basically just a plagiarized version of Roon:) On the positive, once you figure out how to actually use it, it functions for the basic needs and the Aurender itself does sound wonderful! Needs more effort
    1. Why oh why does a long list of albums/songs (on the right side) JUMP to a different location a second or two after I select a song to be added to the playlist? This is SO frustrating. 2. It would be nice if the UI elements were refreshed. It feels/looks kinda old/clunky. Subjective, I know... 3. I wish there was an iPhone app. Fixing item #1 would make this app at least pleasantly usable in my opinion. I wonder if I’m the only one that suffers from this as I would think more people would be complaining about it... Show more

Crashing more frequently with current version.
Since the last two sw upgrades, the app will crash randomly quite frequently. It will, of course, as a result lose connection with the Aurender and takes a minute or two to restart/reconnect. Very frustrating. Overall, I like the app if it can be better stabilized and several functions improved--one example is the searching MQA artists is sequential from A-Z with no way to search alphabetically. Actually, the impetus for writing this review was out of frustration during MQA searches--it will ploddingly load screens sequentially and it crashed twice--I could never get past "G" artists without it crashing. Please fix this app Aurender! Show more

    A mess
A train wreck. Disaster. Embarrassment. Hey Aurender guys; this app is going to sink your company. Yes, it works. I can use it to access Tidal. Music plays. But the rest; searching? User interface? Illogical in the extreme. My Aurender A10 is a nice piece of hardware, but this app makes me angry every time I use it. You want a list of the problems? I don’t have the time and space here. Get on the next plane to Korea and fire everybody involved. You’re welcome. Show more

    Sorting Anomaly
I really like this app, but from the beginning I have been frustrated and annoyed by the sorting algorithm. When a band name begins with “The” or “A”, the app places them at the END of titles in that start with the next letter of the remaining name-string. Thus, “The Beatles” (as one of many examples), appears AFTER Buffalo Springfield in my library instead of between Beastie Boys and Beck, a more natural placement. I much prefer the latter as used by software such as iTunes and Gracenote, both of which ignore the leading “The” when alphabetizing. Your approach makes browsing slower and less natural. It would definitely enhance the user experience. On a less important note, is there any way to add a switch that hides MQA titles in Tidal? My DAC does not support it, nor am I fan of MQA. The duplicate titles waste screen real estate when browsing for music to stream. Other than these annoyances, I really like the app as my way of interfacing with my music server. Update - again, an additional small request. I would appreciate a “play random ALBUM in its entirety” feature. I rarely want to play random tracks (independent of album), but for variety, I miss the iTunes option of randomly playing entire albums, or playing random albums in a playlist of albums. Show more
