I love listening to live and on demand shows, but recently, when I listen to an On Demand news show that happens in segments, the app won’t play continuously. I have to open my phone and hit play after each segment! Super annoying but I still love everything about NPR. Show more

Just downloaded iOS and it is crashing upon open?

Stopped working several months ago. Will not override iTunes in cars. Plays the add opener, then iTunes takes back over and the WFAE app just stays stuck on the Mazda of South Charlotte add. I work at 11 pm eastern time zone. On my way to work I am listening to the radio of your broadcast on bbc world service. Since I have to clock in at 11 pm, I miss the last ten minutes before 11 pm of the show. Which had something I wanted to listen to. So I turn on the app and let it play a bit. 30 minutes later I was hoping I could hear the rest of the show. Not a chance. It reset to the current time and I could not rewind to the point of where I wanted to listen. Not cool. If I got a million dollars a month I would not donate to NPR shows, just because I could not listen to the 10 minutes before 11 pm. I do mean listen, not having to look up the article and read it, but listen from an NPR station. Show more

I’m a WFAE news listener. I’m glad it works abroad for catching up on the events that are taking place at home.

I love to listen to WFAE. The people have great voices for radio. Mike C. Is fantastic in Charlotte Talks. NPR is a little too bias and on the left side of the political spectrum and I am sure they lose listeners with this position. Just a little more tithe center would help. Show more

UPDATE: I wrote this review a week ago. Still no response to my support request. Deleting the app and reinstalling did not help. If you attempt to stream an archived show, and then turn off your screen, it won't advance from one story to the next. It will advance if you leave your screen on. If course that is annoying and has an impact on battery life. Fortunately my iPhone is not even a Year old, so my battery is still robust. The app crashes frequently when first start up to use it. After a few crashes it will stay on. This isn't every time, but more than 30% of the time. Since about ios 12, performance has dropped. The app crashes more and sometimes gives a "No network" warning, even when there is a strong Wifi signal. In the past couple of weeks the app has also stopped when the user locks the screen to the phone. It also doesn't advance through the stories on "All Things Considered" now, unless you leave the screen turned on. Some time ago, an update to this app took away the ability of the user to say the amount of time for the app to go to sleep. No you just have a toogle switch to go to sleep after 30 mins. I enjoy NPR and WFAE. I contribute monthly to help keep programming going. I've used the app for some years now, and I've found it can be slow to keep up with the times. I've also found tech support to be helpful, though it's been nearly week now since I wrote them about these issues and they have not replied. Show more

I love that I can take WFAE with me whether traveling out of the area or hiking on Saturday mornings.

This app always keeps me up to date with what is going on. It’s so easy to use and gives me everything I need for news!

This is a great app. I love being able to listen in real time and to pick shows I’ve missed on demand. I use it daily.

I listen every time I’m in my truck. With this app I can listen while working. You can pause and pick up where you left off. Great stuff. Plus you can read important articles. Show more

They added a slight delay to allow continuous play.

I do not have a radio in my office so listen to WFAE via this app. I have found it to be very reliable. It is a very good app compared to other radio apps. Show more

Thank goodness for this app! I first discovered it shortly after I bought a car with a broken radio...still waiting for the new radio to come in...so, I got my small, Bluetooth speaker and then searched for NPR apps and found this one. I have always enjoyed listening in the car, but now I can listen and stay up to date on local and national news everywhere. Very user friendly and I love the fact that the live feed starts as soon as you open the app. Having pasts stories available is also wonderful. Show more

Working well!

This app works fairly well. My broadband connect is not as fast as Google fiber. I'm in rural Union County, NC and use TWC modems. I enjoy reading the articles and listening to live broadcasts. NPR is an objective and accurate news source. Show more
