Easy to figure out, and you can even place the chords before, after, or within the word. I am the type of guy that likes to write the charts out myself, because most of the charts you see on the internet are not accurate. But with this I am able to do it right. Show more

As a working musician covering music of all types this app gets exactly what I'm looking for done. I'm using it not only to write but also to store cover lyrics to view on stage during performance. The page scrolling function is a huge plus. I don't think it was even mentioned in the description. Very easy to use so far. As more of a songwriter than a performer, this is so much better than OnSong. Less fiddly, with easy options for reordering sections, recording audio separate for each section, easier chord entry than OnSong, and the edit section is so much friendlier to write in. This is brand new for me, so I still don't know the ap's stability, but I'm loving what I'm seeing so far! Show more

This is an excellent resource for any songwriter or performer. It's fast, stable, and easy to use. I ported over 200 songs into the program in a couple of days with very little effort and added chords to them easily. Now I can hand my iPad to someone and they can follow my charts. Honestly, it doesn't do THAT much, but it definitely does the job. I just wanted an app where I could store/manage all of my songs and this app is great at that. I can organize my songs by style, length, in progress, complete, and anything else. I recommend this app if you only want to store your songs in a manageable place where it is easy to find your way around. Show more

As a serious songwriter this is now my central writing app. Buy the full upgrade. The issue of getting songs from trial version over to full version is very simple. In the main gear menu choose "export songs" and then select all your songs with a check mark. Export them as the native "Songwriter" format. Send the email to yourself. After the full upgrade. just open the attachment in your email inbox and choose the full version when prompted how to open it and not only do you get your songs but also any folder structure you created. I would like a right side bar with chord choices and accompanying nashville numbers instead of that tiny chord button way up there too close to other buttons. But I love this app Show more

I've been using this app continuously for about 4 months, due to its convenience the app is quickly becoming a collecting place for all my song ideas. When I open it I see all of my idea collected in one location. When I first started writing songs over a decade ago I had a mountain of paper and pens everywhere and struggled for a place to keep all my best ideas safe, organized and handy when inspiration struck. This app is probably the best songwriting app on the AppStore! I've tried a lot of them and just don't get into them like this one. When you type in a chord and hit the display button it actually puts the chord on top of the lyrics unlike most other apps. Great go to app! Show more

This is an excellent app and has the potential to be a complete songwriting tool. I love the ability to add chords and record melody ideas with each section. My only complaint is that often after I rearrange a section within a song it deletes sections and the song title disappears. Work those bugs out and this is my primary tool! Show more

Just bought it and have tested it a bit. Has everything you need and nothing you don't. Haven't seen anything like it in the app store. Awesome.

This app is amazing! It has formats ready so all you have to do is select and fill in your stuff. If you put it in the wrong place you can easily move the whole section. Record what you've written section by section so you don't forget melodies. The best part is you can save and email in PDF format AND save it to Dropbox from your iPad. The one thing I wish I could do from this is print it off with my wireless printer app. Show more

Connect iPhone with iPad. I want to work on my iPad and than pick it up on my iPhone on the go!

I love the recording function and chord picker. Still need the option to hide the recording popup, so we can see the song and play guitar parts. Small bug where you lose the title for some reason. I doubt if there is a more useful songwriting program for $5. Show more

It's much easier to just use a notepad. I see no advantage with this app.

This app is a real piece of garbage. It crashes every few lines and you have to rewrite whatever you were working on. Dont waste your money on this, wait for them to fix the inexcusable flaws first. Show more

Good app but no import from the lite version. Had to redo the songs and recording, should be able to transfer since its the same app. When you choose to add a chorus it inputs a bridge, when you add a per-chorus it adds a chorus. Ability to import audio is needed. Other featured mentioned are not here. For example search for rhymes and synonyms is nowhere I can find it. Overall simple and quick minus the bugs and limitations.
