Don’t buy this, buy BiasFX instead
This app is misleading and really is completely useless. The reason is that there’s BiasFX from the same company which covers everything that JamUp Pro does and gives you much more. No limit on the number of pedals (7) stereo output and more routing options. Sound quality is better in BiasFX. In-app purchases don’t transfer to BiasFX, and you have to buy them all again. Bottom line is both apps give the best tone quality you can get from iPad, and from PC actually (although I haven’t tested everything on pc, I did on iOS). If you know exactly the difference between these two apps and are certain you will not need BiasFX, then go ahead get JamUp Pro, you will not be disappointed with it’s tone. If you get BiasFX after that expect to pay for all the same effects second time. I bought this app because I saw some people on YouTube talking about it like it’s two different competing apps. It’s the same company and the same code under the hood. Good thing I realized this quickly before buying a bunch of in-app purchases in JamUp. They should have just added those couple of features that are exclusive to JamUp (slowdown music player, and multi-tracks recorder) to BiasFX so we wouldn’t need to pay double for all of those in-app’s. So if you don’t use a DAW and definitely sure you don’t want BiasFX, then get JamUp. Everyone else should definitely get BiasFX and Bias Amp. I bought almost all of the in-app’s in these two and totally recommend both. One thing that sets Positive Grid apart from everything else I’ve tried is it sounds analog vs digital. The worst sounding tweaks I’ve done in Bias Amp still sound analog. In other words entire tweakable range. Show more

Cool app but bad support response
I like the app and effects. I've bought a few effects add-ons. I also bought a Griffin Stompbox pedal to use with it and it's weird trying to understand some aspect of how the switching works between the Stompbox and JamUp effects. I've emailed them twice last year about it and never got a response or acknowledgement. So good luck if you can't figure something out and need help and can't find other users with the same problem in their forum. Show more

Lacking support for AirTurn Stomp 6
Why only 4 airturn input options?

    Jam Module not in stereo
I like the app. I just wish that tracks loaded from my iOS iTunes played back in stereo and not in mono while using the Jam module.

    Great app but....
First of all I love this app I use this along with bias amp witch is also amazing effects sound great and the metal amp pack is awesome too. My only problem with this app is I have a red notification in the top of my phone almost daily and sometimes twice daily asking me to restore perches I mean it’s really a minor inconvenience but it’s getting annoying. This is the only reason this app gets 4 stars for me. Show more

    Sounds pretty decent
Sound is pretty decent for what it is. Playback of songs to play along with sound like they are playing in a tin can though.

Been using it for a few years now
This app really helped me with my sound for recording, now I can just pick an amp and lay tracks! I do wish however now that you have xdrummer that it could have a dedicated “strip” on the 8 track recorder. Along with Bias Amp and Bias FX I have all the amps I need to get trackin!! Show more

    Not Working???
I have the app plugged into the iRig and everything and there is absolutely no sound coming out. I've scanned through every setting and can't seem to find the problem. Guitar and iRig works fine with other apps, wish I understood how other people are getting it fine??? Show more

    Really fun!
Pretty fun stuff! Sounds really good out of the box and sounds even better with more tweaking! I’d be careful if you have active pickups...sometimes it’s too hot for the app and you get a really loud screeching feedback sound. But overall really neat! I use an irig2 into my iPhone SE. I do recommend getting the bias app with this too. That will REALLY make it sound better. I use it for recording and just playing late at night without disturbing anyone! Show more

    Holy cow!!!
Blown away by the free app. Not sure I could handle the pro app. I don’t think there is a more accurate representation of a plexi on any of these type of apps! Great job!! The tone is pretty amazing even through my cheap headphones! Show more

    The in the in-app-purchases = JamUp Pro + in-app-purchases...
So...Could you guys NOT ask customers to pay for the same app (BIAS) twice? If I had known, I would have bought it on my iPad instead of my iPhone, but that's maybe something to ask in a BIAS review. JamUp is okay, but you will get nickel and dime'd by every company making these guitar amp applications for iOS devices. Positive Grid Inc. just happens to be the one that -- in my experience over the years -- is less expensive, (but still not cheap), considerably more stable and JamUp will not crash on you like IKMedia's over-priced bloatware, and doesn't destroy your device's battery life, memory, or multitasking abilities. That last part is key as these apps almost always need you to go pay $10 for Audiobus (have fun w/ that experience if you haven't been ripped off by Audiobus yet, but it happens to all of us so you aren't alone). Audiobus and BIAS are similar in some ways in that they act as a sort of "staging menu" for how you can and want to direct the more experienced DAW musicians who run various apps at once while also monitoring their live jamming or recording sessions. Audiobus 3 is actually starting to work better now that it's been out a few weeks, but it was a catastrophe upon its release. Anyway, JamUp is fine. That's all I can really say. It doesn't crash. I'm not happy they have a JamUp Pro version that is literally the same thing but costs $5 up front for the word "Pro" -- usually I would be able to download the Pro version for no charge now that I've paid for everything you can in the ordinary JamUp in-app store...but at the end of the day, I don't expect these companies to think about these things, and complaining about something like a $5 charge is a bit unfair on my end -- I suppose. Whatever you do, make sure you READ BEFORE EVERY PURCHASE OF ANY iOS APP WHETHER OR NOT THE PURCHASE WILL GIVE YOU THE ABILITY TO USE IT ON ANY iOS DEVICE YOU OWN, OR ONLY ONE, WHERE A SECONDARY PURCHASE FOR THE SAME APP ON YOUR OTHER DEVICE IS REQUIRED. You don't want to find out too late that you gave money to a company that structure's their business model this way. Lesson learned I guess. Show more

    Impressive
The latest update solved my launch issue. Limited variety of amp tones in this free version (understandably) but you certainly get a good idea of what the full app is capable of. I love the Jam feature. Perfectly usable for practice as is, but the pro version beckons! Thumbs up. Show more

    Lint in jack
Be aware that lint in your headphone jack will cause issues with Jamup plug! I thought my issue was software related when in fact I had a ton of lint keeping the jamup plug from fully seating. Headphones would work fine. Cleaned my jack out and now it works great! App works better than it did several years ago, probably in part due to hardware improvement. Show more
