I love this app. It’s great for looking up a song. I don’t have to carry around two large books. The latest fix changed the organization of the app which is confusing to those used to opening the app and having what you are looking for right there. I don’t like how the playlist feature was changed. I used to be able to pick a section and scroll through the songs picking several for the playlist, kind of like how it works on my iphone. Now I have to search each song out and add it individually. Show more

Should be fixed now…”Please fix this bug… when you start typing into the search bar the app closes. And something else that’s very irritating is that the app goes back to its home page too quickly. For example, if I have a song pulled up and I quickly go into another app and come back to the music app it’s already back at home page then I have to go search for the song again.” Show more

App was crashing when I try to search all content. I posted a review and they responded with a fix. iOS 16.0.3

They fixed the bug where it would crash every time you try to use the search function.

I run iOS 16.0.3 and whenever I try to search for a song using title or hymn number, the app shuts off. **Update: It’s been fixed!! Finally!! Loving the new look and the new additions!! Thank you!! Show more

Love it!

Firstly, I want to acknowledge all the work that went into this new update. There were a lot of changes and additions and that is great. However, there are 3 things that bug me. 1. I used to be able to have playlists with different languages in them. Now, even if the title shows up as the language I wanted, it switches to English when it plays. Not cool. Tied into that, I loved being able to look at a specific hymn and be able to change the language on just that hymn. From what I can tell, the only place to change language is on the main menu and it changes everything. Can we bring back the language options for individual songs? 2. Where’s my “Now playing” on the main menu? I used that a lot but now it looks like I have to go to the playlist tab every time. I use the same playlist at night and it was nice to be able to pick up from where it left off. 3. Why is there a pause between songs or when one song is on repeat? Like there’s a 5 second pause before it starts again and it has stopped playing altogether a few times. I never had any problem with things like that before. I know there was a lot of changes in the new update and I hope you guys are still working hard to iron out the kinks. Thanks. Show more

We have used this app for bedtime music for years. When updating an help leave the same features and add new features. Don’t take away features that people use.

The latest update is really nice! The flow is a little different than the previous version, but I love the ability to play/add songs to playlists when there are more than 2 options available (previous app only have vocal/instrumental). I also see that this version fixed the search bug. Show more

It was so convenient to switch from a language to another, I did not have to know the number of the song for the language I wanted to sing. Now I am stuck. Why changing something that worked well? Show more

This is a great app and I love listening to the music, but after it got updated it isn't that fantastic any more. I had in my custom playlist my favourite songs from multiple languages (English, Spanish, Russian, German, etc.) and I could hit the top one and it'd run through the list, but now when I click "play" it only plays the English ones because I have it set to English. If I want to listen to my German ones, I've gotta switch to German, back and forth and it's gonna make me go 'round the bend angry. Fix it. I also like the normal "play" triangle better than that giant, green "play" bar. The formatting before was better for the entire thing. Show more

Hello, This morning I opened up the app in my Mandarin branch ready to sing hymns, and found a brand new app! At first I was surprised and excited to see the new features that were available, but as the conductor began I could not change from my native language (english) to mandarin as I had been able to in the past. I bet it’s coming in a future update, but it was inconvenient this morning when trying to participate in sacrament meeting Show more

The best feature of this app was being able to hold my phone in one hand while my wife and I sing, and being able to one-flick return to the top (by dragging down at the end of the page). I could do that all with one hand, with my other arm around her shoulder or resting on the pew back. Now I have to press “scroll to top” in the middle of the screen, which is out of reach of my thumb, so I have to either awkwardly readjust, or scroll up multiple times to get back to top if I still want to one hand it. I love the app otherwise. Sorry for one star-I’m hoping the devs see this. I’ll update my review at a later date. Show more

I love this app and use it every day. That said, I really miss the ‘now playing’ feature. Why is it gone?

The new update took away functionality. Now I can’t use the app without an internet connection because I can’t download the whole hymn book ahead of time. I also can’t easily change the language like I could before—something that was useful for so many people in the church who served foreign language missions. Also, the big play button at the top of each hymn is very distracting. Thanks Show more

New update requires constant internet connection. Caution when using this app in a religious service as you are required to stay connected to the internet to play songs and your incoming phone call will interrupt your service. Extremely poor design by the church. Show more

The Sacred Music app 2.0 update is amazing! The modernized UI and feeling is great and everything about it is so much improved! Great job!

I see why they tried to update the app but it’s now over complicated just going to sheet or words voice or no voice you can’t repeat a song so no bedtime music I just think this up date is a waste of church time and money let’s not lose are way Show more

I like it. I like the submitted hymns page. I can’t wait for the church hymn books to be updated do our chorister will stop choosing obscure, boring songs from the 1700s. Show more
